Is it somehow possible to add certain libraries to a project on creation, so it you don't have to do it afterwards manually. Here I am thinking of formats, templates etc. When I am creating a part in a project it wont read the template in my library it only works if i am in a product. I get this meassage example when i try doing it in a project:wtpub://PLM/Libraries/System/Formats/a3_rd8.frm|v=A.1' cannot be retrieved.'a3_rd8' does not exist in the database.
I am looking for a way within Windchill's functionality to generate a report template to display what parts in the system were set to "Released" within a specific year. Is this possible or has anyone had a similar idea? I am a new system administrator looking for a little bit of guidance. Thank you.
Does anyone know how to disable the windows that pop up when doing some actions like saving and uploading? These notifications pop up at the bottom right corner of the cad tool.
Checking to see if anyone has gotten this to work successfully. I've been trying to debug some weird PSI issues and failures. PTC articles have sent me down some rabbit holes as I have stumbled through one error message to another. I am circling back to this fundamental setup and trying to determine if it was the source of my issues all along. My other post detailed issues getting a standalone instance of WindchillDS running. PSI fails to detect that WindchillDS is running and bails (windchillds installer appears to have failed to start. Its PTC and/or XML log is missing). I looked this message up and its not the tmp folders. Strange thing is WindchillDS is running. I can see the install, stop it and restart it. It looks fully installed except PSI did not finish. I only find one posting (cs368618 ) that says "you are on your own kid" with regard to SELinux. I'm going to try flipping to permissive mode. Perhaps I can see if OS is blocking something. I suspect poor error
Hello,I have this entire assembly, that I can't check in (not even a single part). Always appears some sync error related to the same parts: Already tried to remove them from the workspace, drawing included (using the browser access), but a different error appears: It is really important to have this error figured out, otherwise I won't be upload my entire work to organization. Thanks
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.2 and Datecode with CPS 11.2.0.2Is it possible to create a copy of EPM Document in Workspace through API?(EPM document is already added to workspace through API.)
Curious if anyone has done this. It would be nice in PartsLink as users search for parts to know if there already exists a CAD model for that Part. This can be a simple Boolean but I am not sure alias or calculated attributes can work here. Has anyone does something like this or have a similar approach? I am sure a listener can be used to calculate this value as the Part is checked in. Since CAD associations need to be modified with Part modification, it would be straight forward to add in this value setting on the way in. Listeners can get complicated when the Part object changes midstream causing stale object errors.
I'm making a presentation template and have noticed when I view the document in WC RV&S client the fields that are long text take up over 4 inches of the display screen. I've tried reducing the maximum length and setting Display Rows to 2. The field does have Rich Content checked. I've also made sure wrap text is on for that cell. Is there a way to display long text fields to two rows height?
Hello, could you give me a hint ... I am looking for a table to see, which mksapi.jar version requires/supports which JDK version / is used for testing by PTC.I ask because we are not sure if JDK 8 is required/supportet or if we can also use JDK 11.. We use Windchill .v12.4 and access its API via mksapi-jar-4.16.2671.jar . Thanks for your support.Ron
Hi allThe Jasper reports server must be integrated into WC12 somehow. Does it still support the REST API described in https://docs.tibco.com/pub/js-jrs/7.9.1/doc/pdf/TIB_js-jrs_7.9_REST-API-Reference.pdf?Any general info on this integration would be appreciated.thanks -- Rick
Hi, I'm trying out MPMLink functionality and I've run into several issues, one being that some part files which were created in ProE 4.0 Wildfire and have likely not been revisited ever since we moved to Creo 7 (Windchill 11.2) disrupt the process of BOM transformation. How? They do not carry geometry with them so for one thing they do not appear in MAPSB visualization tab and you can't generate proper pvz files from the mBOM. So when I try to build those parts (in various ways) it's pretty much futile. I discovered in "Compare to CAD structure" tool that those parts carry with them the warning which states "Cannot perform Build from Part since it is not supported for the listed document(s). Check the authoring applications and versions supported for this action".I found an article CS121264 which was updated 3 years ago and gives a solution which I figured out myself earlier. I suspect a decent number of companies have run into the same issue, so I'm posting with a
One of our admins deleted one of our Change Request types last Wednesday, but we did not discover the deletion until this morning. We can restore from last week, but over 2800 various items have been created since then and the users will raise hell about have to recreate them. Is it possible to grab the meta data of the CR type from a backup or one of our test/dev systems and rebuild the type in the Oracle tables? Many thanks in advance!
I am looking at the Windchill REST Services 2.3 User’s Guide. The JSON format is OData-JSON and Windchill REST Services complies with the [OData standard](https://docs.oasis-open.org/odata/odata/v4.0/errata03/os/complete/part1-protocol/odata-v4.0-errata03-os-part1-protocol-complete.html). A rough skim of the OData spec makes it sound like Windchill provides an XML schema for the entities it exposes. I don't have an installation of Windchill at the moment but would like to examine the XML schema. Can anyone please provide the schema to me?
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.2 and Datecode with CPS 11.2.0.2Is it possible to generate Multi level BOM report through API in XML format? We tried using BOMHelper.produceBOMReport(), but its downloading as HTML. We need some help to understand if there is a way to download the report as XML?
Our Windchill CAD Worker does seem to have a habit of failing at regular intervals. Whilst it is easy to rectify the problem, it can be a major inconvenience if you do not quickly discover the failure. The delay can often result in thousands of jobs that need to be resubmitted and a knock on effect with new jobs also being delayed whilst the backlog is cleared. So for sometime I have been trying to develop a notification tool that will "push" a notification to me by email as soon as the CAD Worker fails. After limited success with custom scripts, I stumbled across a ready-made solution in Windchill that was right under my nose. So just in case any other forum members have been struggling with the same problem, here is my solution.I have discovered that you can in fact setup a Windchill subscription on an entire product context that will detect when the CAD Worker fails on a CAD document. The beauty of this is that you can easily manage the circulation list for notification, you can also
We connected thingworx and windchill. While upgrading Windchill, we not able to run thingworx server. If we need to use thingworx server when windchill server is under upgradation, how to do it ??
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.4From the Windchill Extension Website, it is impossible to download extensions (.wexb).The download progresses almost until the end but on the last Megaoctet, the download hangs for few minutes and the download stop with "network error".We tried on different computer with different web browser (Edge / Firefox / Opera) : Same behavior. Here are the errors that I faced"Impossible de télécharger - problème réseau""Impossible to download - network problem"
HiIs there anyone else out there, who has experienced this issue. I have had a big file created in Creo Illustrate 8.0. Our IT has updated Creo Illustrate to 9.0. The file opens up correctly, seemingly no issue to edit, however when I try to "save" it, or "save as" in whatever location, it does not work. The error message I am getting is:"The file could not be compressed. Please try saving again later or in a different location." What is the solution? Thank you.
Hi. I found an article describing my exact issue Link However I do not know how to fix it since I don't understand what "Part structure not backed by CAD data" means, could someone elaborate a little on the matter, please? So far it seems to happen for every assembly I try to transform. Upstream/downstream visualization does not update when changes are being made to items. Some assembly components' 3d model visualization is absent in the QA session, could this be the issue? How can I push Worker to generate all the necessary thumbnails and visualizations for certain assemblies? (They're set up to generate automatically server-side, but I'm not an admin so I'm looking for a workaround) Side question:Which settings are responsible for enabling the "Remove All Equivalence Links" option for users? Best regards,Tom
Hello, We have our Windchill instance where we have lots of groups created inline to our Business needs in 10.2 and now we are upgrading to Windchill 12. We are considering mapping license groups to this Business groups, but we have a situation where few users are present in multiple groups. Like there is a user A who is part of Group1 & Group2 both due to Business need. Now if we assign the Group 1 & Group 2 both with PTC PDMLink License will the user A account for one license or 2 licenses of PTC PDMLink? Regards,Amar

Hello,I want to create a new part in Windchil. But the Icon is not available in the Ribbon. Also by selecting: Actions > New I am not able to select the Part Icon.Any ideas? regards,Bert
Hello everyone,I would like to know how I can allow users to see documents that are new in other users workspaces (after it is uploaded of course)The aim for the user is to see what references are already created in order to name their new parts.Thank you!
when running the WinDU utility to check if there were any issues before goign ahead on upgrade process, I see an error in windchill shell as:C:\ptc\Windchill_11.0\Windchill\bin>windu'"C:Program FilesJavajdk1.8.0_212binjava.exe"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I have tried giving the environmental variables but it does not work.
