Windchill

Hi,we have mapped the Windchill attributes in the document template like the Name and Number. And we've created a document using the template, If we download the created document in DTI format the documents show the new number and name (not a value of template) this is correct. If we download the document in word format the values in the created document are the same as the template number and name this is not correct. Please help us if there is any suggesstion.  

I admit to not searching nor testing very thoroughly,Is it possible at all to lock Windchill attributes in Word template so that Windchill can update them, but user can't tamper with the fields? Such as number, state in the header updated with DTI.The basic Word section break and restricting that from editing does not work, as expected...

As per this thread - same issue   Hi rkumar,   I too have the similar kind of need, where I need to fetch all the bom structure and get the custom attributes values that or on Usage link.   Is there any way if i can get both the Link and wtpart or wtpart master? Let me know    Thanks

I am wondering what functionality a Managed Collection would provide, that a Package is not providing already. To me it seems, that Packages provide the same capabilities as Managed Collections and add a lot of usefull functionality on top of that. There are a few comparisons in the documentation on how Managed Collections differ from Baselines, but I lack a comparison on how they are different from Packages. Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.2 and Datecode with CPS 11.2.1.14I am trying to change the domain to some folders that were created automatically with a script was created using java code.I found a method from the class AdministrativeDomainManager called changeAdministrativeDomain(DomainAdministered obj, AdminDomainRef domain_ref) that it says :Changes the domain to which the object belongs and sets domain inheritence to false.So when I try to get the AdminDomainRef using AdminDomainRef (see code below) I get an exception that says I am out of context(see error messages or warning) String newDomain="Default//Test//XDomain//"; AdminDomainRef admDom = AdministrativeDomainHelper.getAdminDomainRef(newDomain);Please I need help on that I could not get any clear documentation or example about it , if you have some java code example to move a folder to another domain ( knowing that that domain already exists in windchill ) will be great if you share it.Here are the errors that I faced

We have a custom utility to download the PDF representations. The usage of the tool must he captured and stored in Windchill audit record.   For the usage of the tool, a custom event must be emitted and the details must be recorded in the audit log table in windchill   Any suggestions ?   Thanks, Srikanth

Hi, It would be very interesting to have the facility to group the projects by family or domain (example "AIR Domain", "EARTH Domain ") in order to structure the projects presentation.So the possibility of adding folders in the project navigator, in which projects could be grouped by drag and drop would be appreciable. Best regards,ADONAI Patrick

Hi,I can't be able to find what lets create the drw file when I make a new prt and save it.I want the creation of drw file not always because I have many part that are only on the undercard.But I dond' find the Creo Option that lets it but I don't think it's a Creo "matter" because in stand alone mode it doesn't. It does only with windchill. How can I do?

Dear all, I create a user into an organization and add it as an orgadmin.but now, this user needs to change the types and attributes, so I would like to add him as a site admin. But I can't because he was created into an organization context and not into the full site. any tip to do that?

I'm running a query to get latest iteration/version but I would like to specify either the Product Name or the folder name (Cabinet Name). However, when I add a reportable item in criteria, Cabinet Name is greyed out. How can I get the product or folder name criteria in my query?

We are considering moving our eBOM master from ERP to Windchill. We have previously made a prestudy in PDMLink 10.2 where the Advanced Assembly Editor was available.This tool was perfect for us as our ERP eBOM has a matrix view where it's easy to see multiple variants side by side and being able to easily see that the common parts have the same amount. How do you manage eBOM changes in modules, which typically has many variants, and where Windchill functionality seems very limited as you can only compare two variants in a separate window side by side? I've done both a Google search and a PTC search and was surprised by that there is so few topics about the phase out of the Advanced Assembly Editor. Hi,   Curious to find out what other Windchill Product Analytics (WPA) customers are planning for their future material, compliance and cost needs knowing that PTC has no plans to update or support this application suite beyond Windchill 11.1?   We are currently working with WPA Cost and would love to install WPA Material compliance, but it makes no sense now that PTC is retiring this critical component of their PLM solution. One of the given suggestions is to build a custom application with ThingWorx, but there's really no appetite for this internally. We don't want to go back custom applications, we'd prefer to stay with a COTS solution.   Has anyone researched other cost, material or compliance solutions from other vendors? Do any of them have an integration to Windchill or at least work with extracted data rehosted in an external DB?   -Scott  

How to clear the recent search in Thingworx Navigate

We are in the process of rolling out MPMLink and want to load all of our bom's from our erp system into different views.  The issue I am having is when I load the new view and make the equivalence link the bom from the design view is duplicated to the manufacturing view.  When you do this process in the BOM transformer the UI has an option to "Do not Duplicate".  Does anyone know of a way to stop this from happening when using load from file?
