Windchill

We share a couple of laptops. On one, Google asked if we wanted the password saved after logging into Windchill. This seems to have locked us into a member account, since we can't find a logout button anywhere.Looking at similar discussions, I'm not the only one looking. So how do I log out?

Hi, hope someone can assist.The existing QA host (windchill-test) was set up as a Cluster Node in production pre-rehost. So when trying to make windchill-test the "new" host again, we got a duplicate key error from the fvHost table. I suppose this makes sense and perhaps we used the wrong approach if we just wanted to update the existing QA host with the latest production data?We were unable to remove the Cluster Nodes during the rehost so we used a workaround by renaming them to "fake" hosts in order to be able to change the Standalone Node.   After we got all the services up again we were able to remove the cluster nodes from the front-end.   What I would like to know is whether it is going to be necessary to use this workaround each time we do a rehost?Is the QA host supposed to be set up as a Cluster Node in production? We inherited this setup from the previous admin so not sure if this is best practice?Should we have used a different rehost approach to just update the

There is a attribute defined on a document type, the value is carried over by new iteration or revision once it was created out of box. How can I custom to not carry over the value but reset to empty every time new revision? Eg Audit Type field was set "Initial" at A.1, new iteration to A.2 the value carried over. However  when Revise to B.1, the value was reset to empty.

Hi, I will explain the attached picture and ask a question. The expected scenario is as follows: CAM_FOLLOWER.asm has 4 components.Among CAM_FOLLOWER.asm, BASE.PRT is checked in from A.3 to A.4, and CAM_FOLLOWER.asm is not checked in.   In this situation, CAM_FOLLOWER.asm has been revised to B.1.After checking in, iteration of version B increased, and it is necessary to view the latest data of version A.   The filters you can use to add data for A.3 in CAM_FOLLOWER.asm to your workspace are "Latest" and "On save". (Except promote and baseline)If you select latest, CAM_FOLLOWER.asm is A.3, but the rest of the components get the latest iteration of version B.If you select Save, you get the component when CAM_FOLLOWER.asm is checked in.That is, BASE.PRT A.4 cannot be imported.   The point of the question is how to get the latest iteration of the assembled parts for the previous version.   I hope my explanation was good enough, and please leave a good answer.Thank you.

Is it just me...or does anyone else find it slightly worrying that you can delete your entire index without confirmation? Having just spent all weekend nursing a complete index rebuild it became all too apparent how easy it would be to accidentally choose the wrong option and undo all that work. To make things worse, the 'check' and 'delete' options are right next to each other! Am I missing something here?

I'm trying to set up Project in Windchill for my engineering group.  The one thing that I need with this is the ability for the Guest Role to see the projects that they are guest in when they go to All Projects and change to Active Projects or one that I create.  How do I accomplish this without making them part of the Viewer Role and making them join the project?   I am on Windchill 11.2.1.0, but this should be doable no matter what version.

Hello All,   I recently attended an interview where the interviewer asked the difference between   i) Change Notice and Change Order. ii) Change Activity and Change Task.   I have always thought that the both terms represent the same object. Hello, When we are trying to use the Save-As Function in our Windchill for the Windchill Part, Model and Drawing we get an Error Message that the Object Type is invalid. I didn't find any preference which prevents the copying of CAD-Models/Drawings. Is it possible that the Save-As Function is not working with Data from Direct Modeling? Thank you in Advance! Hello Community,   I am working on some coding to Link an EPMDocument to a WTPart, and then build the WTPart structure. I've got the association portion working but am having difficulty with the build task. I found this in the Windchill API to build structures:BuildHelper.service.buildTarget(WTCollection alwaysBuild, WTCollection buildIfNotAlreadyBuilt, BuildResolverDelegate[] buildResolverDelegate, ConfigSpec configSpec)   I feed this a collection containing my working copy of the WTPart, and it appears to run without issue.  It returns a WTValuedMap, which I am not familiar with.  My question is there any I need to do with the WTValued Map to update the working copy of my WTPart object prior to service.checkin?  Or has anyone had any success with using the BuildHelper.service ?   Snippet:\\Checkout OBJ_prt \\create WRK_Prt = workingcopyof (OBJ_Prt) \\Create links to EMPDoc \\add WRK_prt to WTCollection alwaysBuild.  No buildresolverDelegate, no conf

Hi, when i try to set the license in Creo setup, one server of the Triad results "not reachable". The firewall is off, the Antivirus is uninstalled, the Ping works, all the services are on. I tried a restart but nothing changes. See the attachment. Help?

Hi Everyone, For those of you that are using multiple states for your business objects (CAD, Part, Doc) I am wondering if you are willing to share what those states are and what they mean from a business point-of-view.  There is some internal debate at my company what the difference should be between Engineering Released and Released (I won't give the details here).  I am just wondering what states are used at other companies and what they communicate to the business about the maturity of the object.   Thanks, Patrick Williams

Hi, We want to create an (Excel) application that downloads the viewables from Windchill in a batching way. All users are non-Windchill users. What kind of license(s) is required. Is it allowed that e.g. 20 Excel users download from Windchill via one license or does everyone needs his own license ?

We are about to receive some content for which I'd like to re-use our existing workflow templates. The content is the same, but needs different priority. We are already using the existing workflow priorities.   When viewing the task table, I'd like to be able to differentiate this new content. How can I achieve this? - Can I create more priority items, 6, 7, 8 etc - I'm not able to add, e.g. Process Name in the Task Table. If we initiate a wf and give it a unique name, we could identify it in the task table. But it doesn't allow me to add Process object type in the Table view for tasks. - I don't want to have to recreate my wf module with a bunch of different names. Unless that's my only option.   Any suggestions out there?

Hi, i've installed Drafting 20 but every time I open it, it gives me back this message "C:\ProgramCAD\pDD_20\cdm\Enhancements.pe4\x64\Al Tools.dll wrong type". Then it works but our company customization fails to load. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall, to delete all the regedit keys, to copy the dll from another PC where this error does not appear. But nothing...   Can anyone help me?

If you refer to article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS30168 it says to export your files and then import them in numerical order. I can get to step 4 successfully.   As soon as I try and import the file numbered _0 it fails with wt.util.WTException: Invalid Name: "local.rs.vsrs05.Regain" is incompatible with the domain context "null".   local.rs.vsrs05.Regain is the organization internal name.  I gather file _0 contains the global attributes which in my case exist on the target machine. I would not expect it to error, I would expect it to do nothing in my case.   FIle _1 contains the attributes form the object type parent but it will load successfully, even though it also does nothing in my case.   File _2 does load successfully and does create the object correctly, even if I do not load file _0 and file _1.   Additionally, I need to specify the organization in the loadfromfile command otherwsie it bombs out.   Does anybody k

Hi, I am a beginner who can write Java and C ++ code but don't know how to apply development in PDMLink. PDMLink OOTB does not allow any additional information to be entered when proceeding with a revision.   If you have a development case that allows you to enter additional information when making revisions or an example where you can add editable properties to EPMDocuments without check out, please share it.   If I have to develop, please tell me what part of Customization Guide can help.   Thanks, Warm Regards, SeonHo Cha    

I have a Creo drawing in Windchill.  It consists of three parts, a (.drw, .frm and .prt) files. I have a change request that covers all three related objects. When I try to check out any of the files I'm presented with a series of options on a pop up screen.  I've tried what I think are the appropriate options but at no point does the file get checked out.  Is there a simple tutorial about that shows how to check out and edit a Creo drawing from Windchill. My mech.eng. has moved on and I'm trying to cover some of his work while the search is on for his replacement. Any help would be massively appreciated.
