Hello. I am trying to create a Cognos bar chart with a series of document counts. I cant seem to get the chart made. Does the chart have to be made with related measures such as something from a cross tab or can it be made of independent data items? If it can be made, is it as simple as placing a data item with the total count in the y axis, and the individual types that need to be measured in the x axis? I have tried this previously to no avail, so any help would be highly appreciated,

We are trying to read multi-valued attributes in Windchill through the odata API. However, Windchill only seems to return one of the values and does not compile it into a list. Any ideas if this can be resolved? Many thanks

Hi Guys, I have created a custom app in thingworx navigate. It is working perfectly for administrator but the same custom app is not working for non-administrator user. When i click the custom app from non-administrator user it is showing the error: Reason: 404 - Entity Not Found. If anybody knows mean let me know.  

Does anyone know if WC11 has provided a simple way to build a Query Report / Search that only show the latest Version of an object?    I have been trying to create a report and got it close to what I need but is all latest revisions (e.g. A.2, B.5, 1.3, 2.5, 3.7) when I only want the latest released version (3.7).   I have heard in previous versions of WC there is a convoluted way to do this but am hoping there is a simple way to do this...as this is already functionality in a normal WC search.

Hi, We are trying to automate Creo operations from an auxiliary application (using the Creo Toolkit). When the files are in Windchill we are not able to change anything from this application. Opening local Creo files, everything is working as expected.   My question is if it is possible to always store local cache unencrypted? Like a setting on Windchill server. Basically storing normal Creo files (*.prt, *.asm) as local cache instead of encrypted.    We are running Windchill 11.0 and Creo 6.0.3.0

This blog entry discusses the Representation Purging Utility that I created. It was written as a jsp with an html front end page. The files are attached.As CAD Documents are iterated in Windchill, published representations accumulate in the history and most of those representations are no longer needed. If the OOTB publishing rules are used, every iteration will have multiple representations as shown below. This screenshot shows four representations for a single version of this CAD Document, and there are a total of ten versions in the history of this CAD Document. Hi,   Anyone out there using Windchill 11.1 M020 Workgroup Manager (WGM) & Altium ECAD?   Since our upgrade to WC11.1, we are experiencing constant data loss with the WGM when working with Altium ECAD. The WGM likes to replace the modified and updated files in the workspace with old copies from the Commonspace periodically. We've seen it do this on WGM startup and as part of the ECAD Check In process. Its an incredibly frustrating situation because the WGM never lets you know when its doing this, it does the replacement  silently in the background. One minute you're working on the latest design files, the next time you open the files you've been restored to what you originally checked out from the Commonspace.     We have sent PTC three packages of video, data and logs for this issue and they have a tentative fix for us, but it will not be available until July. I'm not sure what's holding it up so long and that is why I'd like to know if there are

Hello,   I have implemented a logic where an IBA attribute of WTDocument will get updated at certain point in a change task workflow.   But for one object the IBA attribute is updated two times which is causing some issues in the upcoming activity nodes. For example: If the attribute name of a document is "Info" and the value I am trying to persist is "value", when the IBA updation logic is executed the value is coming as "value","value".   I can see two entry in the database in String Value table for the document. Hello community,   I try to create a data utility which I can use in an usagelink.what I need is following: - Read the enumeration behind an custom usagelink attribute, - Filter out some entries, - create a suggestBox for the rest ob the entries. - persist the choice of my user.   Can you help me in the right direction? Can I create a STEP file of a part or assembly, with it checked in from common space only ?

Hi,   I am rehosting Windchill PDMLink along with Windchill Quality Solutions. Is there any way to rehost Windchill Quality Solutions ? As far as I know, I need to re-install the Windchill Quality Solutions and after that select the option of "restore the existing database". That will create the database instance and then do I need to manually import the .dmp file and then run the Conversion Wizard ? Please help me out here.   Regards, Akshay

Did anyone succeeded to deploy softtypes of configurable links?Our VAR setup configurable links (master, reference, describe) on our Windchill test environment. We are able to use them, including additional attributes on the link. But when I add additional softtypes to e.g. the master configurable link, I don't find the possibility to use it while creating a new link instance. I can't find an entry to define OIR's on configurable links, what confirms that the implementation is not quiet finished yet. So I was wondering if there are already succesful use cases for this technology.Thanks in advance,Hugo.Windchill 10.1 M040.

Our default units have mm for length (SI).  When I am creating WTPart attributes that are "real with length", and I enter 0.8mm for a value, it will display on the Details page for the WTPart as 800um (800 micrometers).  How can I get it to actually display as the value I entered - in millimeters? 

Hello everyone, new company new challenges.   I am "very" familiar with the concept and the tools from PTC to implement product configurators be it at WTpart level, CAD or when both interact (Bottom Up and Top Down approach) and the use of AnyBOM when using Windchill and Creo. I am a lot less when it is about Revit instead of Creo. I know there is a workgroup CAD Manager for Revit but as far I am concerned it is more to allow Check in Out and does not allow the same level of integration than the Workgroup CAD Manager for Creo.    I am wondering if anyone as used AnyBOM with Revit as at the moment I struggle to see how we will be able to configure wtpart and get the 3D models automatically generated as I have done with Creo.   Thanks

Hi,   I am trying to install Navigate 8.5.3 on my Microsoft Server 2016 Standard (64 Bit). Which require PostgreSQL 9.6 or 10.8 Version. But I am not able to find PostgreSQL 10.8 version on the PostgreSQL official site (https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloads/postgres-postgresql-downloads).   Can anyone please provide me the link/solution to get PostgreSQL 10.8 installer?   ** Note: PostgreSQL 9.6 version have some open issues because of which our organisation security team has Grey Listed in our system. Hello,   I am trying to understand the difference between "Described By" and "Reference Documents".   I referred to the below article which is clear but when I try to revise the document, the associate part is also getting revised both in case of describe by as well as in reference documents.   https://community.ptc.com/t5/Windchill/Describes-doctype-vs-Reference-doctype/m-p/319970#M37503   Please provide the reason why the part is also getting revised.Is there any preference configuration that I should be aware of ?   Thanks and Regards, Hari Shankar  

Hello all,   I am currently working on the following request:   Using plans in Windchill (Project or Product) it is possible to allocate ressources with a configurable capacity on every task. If I am allocate the ressource multiple times in multiple planes, there could be a situation where the user is overbooked in a certain timeframe (plan activity 1 40% + plan activity 2 40% + plan activity 3 30% = 110%).   Is there a way to report this? Or even better - is it possible to avoid overbooking directly while creating a new task in a given time frame? I used a WT report, which shows me the allocation over time and the capacity report given in the gantt-explorer, but still missing any kind of summation.   Regards Steffen

Hi, After imported my CA Root using keytool -import -alias MyRootCA -keystore "E:\PTC\Windchill_11.1\Java\jre\lib\security\cacerts" -file "C:\certs\MyRoot CA.cer" I changed the provider URL to ldaps:// in the info engine executed ant -f webAppConfig.xml regenAllWebApps After restarting the Server service it wont start again. error: javax.naming.CommunicationException: <Server>:636 [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect] Now I can't login into info engine to reverse the changes. Is there anyway to change the provider URL manually? Thanks
