I have created a workflow task for a soft type document to get it into a formal process from no process.  One of the attributes that I have for the document is Need Date.  What I am wondering is how do I get the Need Date to show up on an user's task and in their email?  It shows up on the details page and in the folder where the document is created.

Hi all,   We have a small issue when sending to SAP parts with small weight values. For example if you set the weight at 0.0000000001 then to SAP (in the windchill ESI Response files) the value 1.0E-12 is sent.  SAP cannot process this so we should have 0.0000000001 sent.    Any ideas?   Alex

Hi! we have connected our Windchill to Windows LDAP. Login for most of the users is ok.   one failed - he had a non-ASCII symbol in the password.   another one fails too - login window just turns up again - he has only ASCII symbols. But he has Chinese symbols in his name (not username, this is ASCII only). In Windchill Userlist the symbols are shown correctly. Is there any log with a detailed block reason? In WindchillDS logs I could see the lookups, but no details why the user get's blocked. The user can login with a windchill internal user, so the connection and setup is ok.   br Bernhard

Hello, everyone   Can I use parameters for naming and numbering?We are going to establish a naming and numbering scheme for businesses that are introducing PDM.We are going to propose the following.#### _ #### _ <button> .prt or #### _ #### _ <button> .asm #### means a four-digit number.The first four digits represent the part number, and the middle four digits represent the pid.The last <name> will be the name of a generic model. The 4-digit number will specify the number following the OIR in ORACLE DB.The last <name> will be the name of the file you will enter.In combination, EPM documents will be given a number and file name.The public name will have only <name>. Each type also expects parameters like parameters PTC_WC_PART_NO, PTC_WC_PRODUCT_ID, and PTC_WC_PART_NAME. Can I use WINDCHILL PDMLink systematically to satisfy the above requirement without having to use CREATE RELATIONSHIP in CREO? If possible, please let me know about the approach. Than

Hi, I have made a script file in UNIX server to stop windchill server, take backup and then to start windchill server. Here my issue is windchill server is getting stopped, backup is taking place and then while starting windchill server server manager is not getting invoked.... but script log says server manager started...   This above scenario is happening only if i schedule the script file, but while executing manually every thing is fine.   Can any one help on this???

OK i gave it plenty of tries. I must misunderstand something. I try to setup a new multivalued property with comma (,) as separator.   within a .xconf file, I see how it is done : just by adding multivalued=","   But I would like to add properties on the fly to do some tests, so I use the xconfmanager utility instead.   And I cannot find how to tell a newly set property is multivalued.   When I do xconfmanager -s com.company.myProperty=toto it goes single valued   when I call cxonfmanager -d com.company.myProperty it gives: Property information for 'com.company.myProperty'   Values:   - toto   Locations:   - file:/D:/ptc/Windchill_11.0/Windchill/site.xconf, line 129   where I would like to get :   Property information for 'com.ptc.windchill.enterpise.search.client.typeChooser.allSearchExclude':   Multivalued property delimiter: ,   Values:   - wt.part.WTProduct   - wt.part

Is it possible to allow Project Update functionality to people in the Members role of a Project? Can this be done through Profile settings or something in the Policy Administration side? Today, this functionality is only possible for the Project Manager role but we need all of the Member role (defined for us as internal users) to be able to update/sync the files that are shared to those that are in PDM. 

Hello togehter,   I a newbee here in the forum and in the work as an admin for the database. We just launched a Windchill 11 System early this year in our R&D-department. Atm i´m working on the "Promotion Request Approval Process" and i hope you can help me.   I try to expand the workflow so that the old versions of an objekt will be set in the lifecycle "old" in the end of the process. But i can´t even find the tasks/actions in the process where the lifecycle is set on "released".   I hope i explaind my request good enough and you can help me with some advice or an link, if there is an solution all ready.   sincerely Philipp

Has anyone figured out the detailed difference between the different org templates? I've found some incomplete information on pg 147+ of the Basic Admin Guide, but nothing that is complete. WC 11.0 M030 PDML & PjtL.   For example, their are several Org templates to chose from (Customer, Enterprise, General, General (PDM), and Supplier). Top of page 149 (WC 11 Basic Admin Guide) gives two examples of ACLs for 'General (PDM)' and 'Enterprise' orgs, but are incomplete. Bottom of page 154 has one smidget about 'General (PDM)' ACLs as well. But no mention of the others. Finaally middle of page 155 mentions some object sub-types available in Customer and Supplier orgs. But I have no faith this is complete. Plus, I know the OIRs are different as well.   Can anyone help out?

Is there any way to remove a CPS from Windchill 11.0 M030? I installed CPS06 to get the change from JAVA to HTML for file vaulting administration. However, that broke Creo View launching and we can no longer view drawings in Creo View. Is this just my systems or have others seen this or just not tested it? I have tried CPS08 on the test system and it does not fix the issue. I opened a call with PTC last Thursday and they have come up with nothing that will fix the issue, so far. I find it hard to believe that it is something on my systems when we have changed nothing except install the CPS06 patch. I wonder if PTC has testing of Creo View as part of their procedures when developing these patches? Maybe it is just my combination of not doing any of the earlier patches in the M030 set, but aren't the patches supposed to cumulative?  

Hello,   The problem description, platform and maintenance release matches the issue described in this PTC doc.PDMLink 10.1 M030 Windows Server 2008 R2 StandardCreo 2.0 M100 problem is sometime intermittent , sometimes easy to replicate. Seen in the Creo embedded browser.   Since you just don't casually install Maintenance releases, and the document was lacking any additional mitigation strategies, I asked PTC Support to provide info on 1.) how to confirm this is the issue and 2.) how to workaround.  I am awaiting their promised response.......In the meantime, I wanted to see if anyone had already run into this and received any helpful info from PTC or any other source.  I have attached the error.   Thank you!

How can we hide the recipient tab which reveals addresses to specific groups or users?  This is a potential security breach that we would like to address in our company due to external users from different companies sharing objects.

Hi, We have a new installation of Windchill 11.0 containing PLM setup with wtparts etc. (No CAD data yet) and an old installation that has been around since Windchill 8.0. The old system is also running Windchill 11.0 now and contains Creo CAD data + promotion requests only.   To bring these 2 systems together, we consider to migrate all CAD data (Creo) from the old to the new system.   I assume that this is supported by Windchill Bulk migrator? But wants to make sure that we don't loose any history in the process.   Does anybody have some experience to share, or links to articles etc. for me to learn more about what to consider before starting a project like this?   /Kim

We've used a Creo Parameter for the part manufacturer since before we started using PDMLink, and I'd like to be able to include this on the product structure reports.  Is there a way to add Creo parameters as columns?

Can someone help explain differences between groups and roles in terms of precedence in access control policy?  From the help documentation it says "Each role that is defined in a context team or team template has a corresponding system group automatically created with the same name." So Role Change Admin II is CHANGE ADMINISTRATOR II system group.  Does this mean that roles and groups are treated interchangeably when it comes to access controls? In other words, if I assign Role "+Read" and then assign the corresponding System group "-Read", which one wins out?    

After successfully upgrading to WC 11 I'm receiving an error when attempting to access the File Vaults in PDMLink " Failed to load dialog template" . Has anyone ran into an issue like this after upgrading Windchill?

I have an user that has a new laptop with two external monitors attached to it, but don't think that is causing the issue, that is having issues viewing things from Windchill.  When Creo View opens and the object is selected, the screen is blank.  It doesn't matter if the user is an admin or not.  The same viewable works on a different computer.   I'm guessing graphics related, but do not know where to start.  I'm starting here since I do not have total access to the system to work with tech support and am hoping someone else on here might have gone through the same thing.   I'm on Windchill 11.0 m030 with Creo View 4.1.   Thank you, Brian

I have Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m loaded, but it is not launching Windchill. I get the authorization pop-up, enter username/password and then Chrome just gives me a spinning cog wheel.   What is the latest version of Chrome that is supported?   Windchill/PDMLink 11.0 m030 CPS06

I'm creating a Thingworx Navigate custom app and need to pass Mashup Parameters to a custom Search mashup using a url. The approach I'm trying to take is similar to what's done by PTC's OOTB Thingworx Navigate Apps... so, once my custom app is selected in the Thingworx Navigate "home page", it would pass some parameters to a Search Mashup.   The issue is that (I think) I can not use the "Navigation" widget for that because the Search Mashup is not called from another "mashup" that I own... it's called from the LandingPageAccessAppMashup (the "home page" of the Thingworx Navigate Apps).

We recently implemented ProjectLink for external supplier collaboration. There are things we can share and there are things we cannot... Is there a way to turn off CreoView, thumbnails or secondary content in Project through policy administration or some other means? I'm finding that if a representation is created and then the file is shared, it's shared even for files that I don't want shared (and don't share). In other words, my suppliers can see more than I'd like.  Has anyone else run into this? How have you solved it? 

Has anyone had success in setting up Solidworks 2017 Toolbox within Windchill? The instructions in the help files reference Solidworks 2012 but that doesn't seem to be applicable anymore on account of the sldsetdocprop.exe function to designate a part as a toolbox component.  We tried putting in a toolbox component into our classification system in Windchill and the toolbox designated component can't even be browsed to be added into the databases unless it is specifically designated as "not a toolbox component". However, that then removes all of the configuration properties that help a single screw model address 900 different screws (as an example).  Any feedback/help is welcome.    Dobi
