Windchill

Hello everyone!   I am trying to figure out the best way to migrate product objects and its contents from one server (windchill 11) to another one (also windchill 11). What is the best way of accomplishing that?

I have assigned a find number (balloon numbers) in creo assembly model and when ever I recheck-in the assembly model the find number will disappear in windchill WT part BOM structure. Can any one help

Is there a go-to document or site that explains how to use ant with Windchill?   I have a lot of manual tasks to automate (deployments, admin tasks…) and have lots of catching up to do. If at least I could take a look at what ant can do, that may fill some of my requirements. So I'm starting with ant and will see how far I get with that.   Thanks! Hi All,   Please help me to install Windchill Bulk Migrator on Windchill server. As per Ptc Instructions, we have to select WBM from Optional components while Installation, but not able to locate WBM as a optional component while installing Windchill.   Please let me know how to proceed on this .   Regards, Vivek    

Is there any API to identify file uploaded to vault ?

Is there any API to upload file directly to vault, without attaching it to any part or document?

I have a workflow for a document.  I want to check for a variable and if it reports back "N" to open a popup window telling the user what needs to be done.  Is this possible inside of the workflow under the "Complete" transition?  If it is, does anyone have any code for opening the popup?  Or do I have to write code outside of Windchill and reference it from the transition area?

Hello,   I am installing Windchill PDMLink as per Installation and Configuration Guide in a lab environment. There are 3 servers as following installed and configured in the same order. All servers have got no AV, FW disabled, UAC disabled and in same network. DbSrv: Oracle database and Directory Server components BusRepSrv: Business Reporting Host components AppSrv: Windchill 11 M030 Solution and Business Reporting Gateway   Installation went smooth. After installation, ran following command for the sake of updating model and loading reports. ant -f D:\ptc\WC11.0\Windchill\installer\wnc\wbr_actions.xml   It generated an error as following. Hi All,   Is any way in WIndchill so that any conatiner like Product or library will be get created along with certain set of predefined documents ?   Actually, we have some set of external / internal documents, and want to create a product such a way that, at the time of product creation all of these mentioned documents also got created or moved to that product automatically.   Initially my thought about the Product Templates, but i am not sure about how data will be copied or created while product creation.   Please help me to get the solution of this.   Regards, Vivek

I am testing a new install of Windchill 11.0 m030 CPS08 and set wt.fv.fvFileThreshold to 20. I have also set wt.fv.useFvFileThreshold, wt.fv.useVaultsForAllContent and wt.fv.forceContentToVault to true. When I created the vault, I set it to Automatic folder creation. This is what we want to test.   Does Windchill create a new folder and start populating it when the threshold limit is reached?   I have uploaded 30 documents to Windchill and they are all going into my initial folder. Is there a minimum threshold number that is not documented?   On my other production system, it did not have the Automatic option when setup back at Windchill 8, so I manually create new folders and be sure that 2 or 3 are mounted and ready for the threshold of 50,000 to do the rollover. Hello,   I have thousands of Windchill parts saved in multiple folders in Windchill. In these folders I am able to see columns with weight, thickness, material and other information about these parts.   I would like to know if there is an easy way to export every single part of all folders and subfolders into 1 excel sheet, with the same columns as I get in the folders.   Thanks in advance!

hi guys,I am not able to use 2 or more creo view widgets in single page.It is replacing the previous one. 

Attempting to setup Windchill 11 Linux for publishing on Windows CAD Worker. CAD Worker on Win 7. Creo 2 m230. Install and check connection okay. Works on other machines.   Keep getting error dvconjobDoJob unable to parse XML file. This is bound to be a security issue. If you know how to solve this please help. This is a bit of an emergency.

Dear All, I have created e signature in Windchill. After approval there will be reviewer name in workflow records, can I add these column values (reviewer name and review date) in my drawing files without customization? These column values are in workitem type and esignature attribute. How can I map these in my EPMDocument and display in my drawing file which is in both .drw and .pdf format? Has anyone tried this?

Hi All, I have created WTOrganization by using Windchill API. it was successfully created. When i tried to add Org admin to this newly created Organization found that this Organization is not present under Org Tab. I have check WTORGANIZATION table in DB and found its entry.   How i can get this new organization under my Org Tab ?   Regards, Vivek    

When creating new CAD templates from the interface, you can define values for attributes, which will be preselected when creating new documents based on those templates. Is it possible to define those attribute values also in the XMLs used by LoadFromFile to load the CAD templates and if so, what is the syntax?

Hello together,   we are using Windchill 10.2, but we have a lot of "historical" reliability files which were calculated with Isograph Workbench. Is there a Interface for Windchill available, to load / import these reliability data or is there a way with a mapping table already known ? Beside the file, Workbench can export Pi and Lambda factors for each component.   Thank you.  

Hello,   While performing Classification Search, the number of rows returned in results is based on Preference->Search-> Latest Version Search (Yes/No). I get all the data when the option is set to NO. Although when set to YES, the result set gets truncated while displaying an "Incomplete Results" Message. When the data gets truncated in search results and a lot of rows do not show up, the same rows show up when data is refined using Facets. This tells me that there may be something to do with the number of Search results that can be displayed. I checked the QueryLimit Values in wt and db properties and they seem fine. Any idea why this may happen? Also, the 2 seem unrelated - The table size limit showing up when the Search preference is set up a YES.  

I have an excel list that came out of our ERP system (name and rev).  I need to check rev level against Windchill.  How do I get Windchill to take this list and fetch current latest rev level?

My requirement is that if a folder in PDMLink product folder structure is empty it should be of "RED" colour otherwise normal colour.Is it possible to achieve this?Best Regards,Aamir
