Hi, i am trying to get kowlegde about the aspects of what an integration of Creo Illustrate 4.2 and Windchill will mean regarding the actual work to set up the integration and what I need to consider regarden the environment/set up my company has in Windchill.   Is it straight forward or very much to consider/think of? What are those thing?

Hi   i customized a epm document in productso, creo makes a file that numbering like 'creo-000000032'and file name get from number   i have 2 questions.   1. can i more customized about each type?for example, creo make a part file that numbering like 'creo-part-0000032'other case, if creo makes a drawing file, this file get number like 'creo-2d-0000033' is it possible? if it is posiible , please give me a way   2. can i makes rule that library file read is possible, but download impossible?when i get cad data from libraryi can save in my local space as back-up file[formatted xxxx.prt.1] can i makes rule that library file read is possible, but download impossible?it means team member didn't download libfile to team member's workspaceonly read, or it can be used to create assemblies   thanks, good day

Hi,   I will preface this question by saying that my company is replacing our current PLM system (implemented in 2008) with Windchill 11.0.   In our current system, any part attrubute that needs a unit of measure label, uses a completely separate attribute to do so. For example, if we were to input a parts Rated Power on creation, you would first input the rated power, and then select a quanity from a drop down list. This drop down list could have 6 or 7 different available UOM options. The part is then created, and the UOM is suffixed of the measurement.   My question is how other companies are handling or have handled this scenario? Are you using Windchills measurement system capabilities? Or do you just use a separate attribute with a global enmerated list to "label" the attribute, like we're doing today. I'm also open to any suggestions on how we should proceed.   Thanks! -Brandon

can i distinguish creo type via Windchill EPMDocument? if i check-in assembly file to windchill, it get number like ASM-0000032.asmother case i check-in drawing file to windchill, it get number like DRW-0000033.drwlikewise i check-in part file to windchill, it get number like PRT-0000034.prt   can i configure when check-in at Creo it is possible to auto add a string by each type?

Is there any way to directly list each of the promotion targets in the email sent from a promotion request activity?  In a perfect world I would like each of these to be hyperlinks straight to the primary representation of each object (one click to open directly in Creo View.)  Has anyone ever managed to do something like this?

We are currently on Windchill\Intralink 10.2 and will be upgrading to Windchill\PDMLink so that we can manage SolidWorks, NX and AutoCAD files alongside our Creo files. Ultimatley we will be bringing in a PTC reseller to help with the upgrade but wanted to get my feet wet with what is reauired. I have successfully installed Intralink 10.2 on a test server but am at a lost on how to upgrade\convert it to a PDMLink installation?   Would the process involve installing a fresh PDMLink setup and then run a migration utility to bring in the Intralink 10.2 files and metadata?

lets say you have an assembly containing of three parts that are generated as independed WT parts.  Now, all the parts have their technical drawing in the WT part and i want to gather them in a file/folder to save time when printing. This could be done by printing the drawings and puting them in a binder, the only problem is that you have to remember to update the drawings in the binder when making a change in the part.  Is it possible to create a folder in windchill that automaticcly updates the drawings when the part is modified?

When creating a new promotion request, is there any way to limit the select participants step so it only allows one user to be selected per role?

All,I'm working on a customization where I have several Teams defined in a Product context. When someone creates a change object, there's an IBA call Plants Affected where they select value(s) from. Each Team defined has roles / participants defined that represent each factory. Through code in the workflow, I'm removing the corresponding roles from the Change Object Team. I then look at the plants affected to determine which team(s) need to be assigned. Using the TeamHelper.service.reteam(Change Object) I'm updating the team. I need to be able to merge the teams together and assign the result to the change object. What I found is that the reteam method merges the context team with the last team processed. Is there anyone that has coded something like this? And if so, how did you go about coding it?Regards,Paul Sweet

We are trying to consolidate out Creo support files into Windchill...So, since I can't "import" them, I figure I would just 'add" them in as new documents. I'm not sure how successful that was as I used the "general" DocType when creating.MY QUESTIONs - has anybody already done this? If so, what 'type" did you use when creating the wtdocs? Is there another way?Any comments would be most appreciated.gary

Upgrade from 10.2 to 11.0 completed successfully. Setup replica server where the master uses HTTPS. Generated new master key and located on replica, imported master cert into replica, imported replica cert into master. Master site includes HTTPS:\\<server name>.customer.com\Windchill \servlet\WindchillGW in replica's site and wt.properties. Replica server - broadcasts successfully. Vaults - mount and validate successfully. Replication rules -  established. Reset Replication -  set for site Replication schedule - established, enabled and ready. Replication Jobs - Status Completed, Items Replicated - 0, Total Items - 0. replQueue - Started and Enabled.   A case has been open for 5 weeks. Several webex's have validated the setup.  Customer's network mgt. claims there is nothing blocking comm between master and replica.   Has anyone ever seen anything like this?   Any suggestions on where to look next?

I am working on a test upgrade of Windchill PDMLink 10.0 m040 to 11.0 m030. I got about 2/3 of the way through the Upgrade Manager Tasks and now I hit a failure. The task that fails is Update Container Templates and the first setp is to Start Windchill Server. I think it is failing because the HTTP service is not starting, but I can find no log files, cache files, etc, that can be used to trace the failure. I did manually start the Windchill Method Servers and then rerun the task, but that just started by stopping the MS amd then failing to restart them. Does anyone have some hints on where to look before I open a help call with PTC?

I have two CREO part models that I would like to referenced to each other. Is there a way to create a link between them in Windchill?The original part is a sheetmetal part.  The second part is designed to use the same blank with different bends.  We need to insure both models and drawings will be revised when a revision is needed to the blank.We have tried using an inheritance feature unbending the part and adding new bends, but the new bends cross old bends and CREO will not allow that.Thanks,Kevin

We use Creo template parts that have associated drawings. When I create & save a new part, the drawing is automatically created, so far all as expected. However rather than pull the drawing format from the formats directory, Windchill creates a ghost part for the format in the workspace. This means that for it to work properly the format must already exist in the workspace.This looks much the same behaviour as this thread: Ghost objects during replace by copyand ptc support have sent me this document: https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS5822 both of which indicate that this is expected behaviour. I am looking for documentation on object types.It is difficult to understand the implications of configuring policy access control rules.I think roughly the WTDocument is the basic document.To configure policy access control rules, you need to know what the object type is.So I need an explanation of what each object type is.Give me a link or document for the object type.   thank   p.s I do not need an object description like the picture below. When creating policy access control rules, as shown in the figure below, please let us know what each type controls (eg WTPart, the type that controls the permissions of the part).

Hello,   I want to remove few value from Enumeration if document is getting created from certain container. if container is library then dropdown shall not bring one of the value from enumaration. See attached image. I want to remove Source value from Source type dropdown(enumaration list) if it is getting created from library.   Is it possible to do with PTC.attributePanel.on("beforeRender", function(attributePanel)?   Please help.    

Using Windchill 11.0 (new upgrade). We are trying to upload new graphics into Windchill using the command "new graphic information element". A blank window pops up and nothing else. We have tried in IE(11), FireFox(55) and Chrome(61). Before the upgrade it worked perfectly. Any ideas? Browser setting perhaps?

I had a bad day.I tried to build a mail server with Windchill.i was Installed Oracle EM and also used xconfmanagerThen suddenly the computer was reboot!?I could not stop Windchill and it just rebooted.And then the restarted PC could not run the listener, so I finally re-installed Windchill.The question.The situation where the PC is forcibly terminatedOr suddenly shutdown when Windchill server and manager running (including PTC Directory server and Oracle listener) Give me solution please on the problem that the listener can not be restarted I do not know why,but I left many questions, but I did not get any answer.Please help me 🙂

Hi, I'm SeonHo   I want to write a retention rule and send Windchill's data to the Vault.I maked new rules through ptc e support site/helpWTObject was sent to the Vault in every lifecycle stateHowever, did not send it to the Vault when I check in.   My question is two.For check in & upload via Creo or other 3D CAD, is the file moved to the Vault only? If i set wt.fv.useVaultsForAllContent to true, the data in Windchill is also moved to the repository?     Thanks
