I'm trying to do a "Synchronize On: Object Event" . Windchill Object: wf variable is Problem report that has multiple Change requests associate with it. Can anybody tell me how to customize this object event , so that the synch robot completes only when all the associated Change requests are resolved
Hello to all, I'm installing windchill 11 on a machine but the db is on another server. During the PSI error: The directory that you selected for ORACLE_HOME does not exist or is invalid. My directory is: E: \ app \ oracle \ product \ 12.1.0 \ client_1 I have configured client oracles pointing to the oracle on the DB machine and relaunched the PSI installation but I still have the same error. I do not understand where I'm wrong and how to fix it. Can someone help me? Thanks Davide

Ref Help Topic:Setting the Disposition of Affected Objects.We haven't yet but are planning on adding some custom Dispositions. Having a bit of trouble with the documentation. Can get one to display and work but when adding a second, the first is removed. Wondering if anyone has done this and might have a "Cheat Sheet" on it.
I recently gave a presentation to my local CT user group. Getting to love PowerPoint 2010 and the narration feature. I was able to turn that presentation into a video. We can use API to create new WTDocument, but we have a subtype under WTDocument, how can I create a subtype by API? Who could help me? Thanks in advanced.
I'm currently on Windchill 10.2 with SQL Server 2008. My goal is to get to Windchill 11.0 with SQL Server 2014 or 2016. My question is, how do I upgrade the databse, either before I do the Windchill upgrade or during the Windchill upgrade? The problem I am having is that when I go to import my backup from 2008 to either 2012 or 2014, it will not show as a viable choice to be chosen during a restore. I know that I have to be missing something simple. Thank you, Brian

Hi, I would like to develop few utilities using WWGM Toolkit. Currently i have "WWGM Toolkit, Version: WC11" along with Visual Studio 2015. I am new and trying to run the "wwgmtk_hello_world" program. I am getting linker error LNK1561 when i compile it. I have also not used to C++. How do i get started. I am unable to run the test programs. Also would like to know if it is possible to use VB or C# to develop WWGM Toolkit, if yes how to get started. Any sugesstions would be really helpful... Thanks.
We used to be able to create sequential Change Tasks within New Change Notices where the creator would be the CT Assignee and the different CT Reviewer approvers (Checker, Engineer, etc.) would have their approvals sequenced appropriately (Checker first, then Engineer, etc.). I'm not certain exactly when it happened, but now when the Change Tasks are set up as I have described, the CT Reviewers all get set to be the CT Assignee. Once it gets submitted, you can go back in and set the CT Reviewers again and it sticks. Doing a single Change Task with all approvers on one works fine. I'm wondering if there's a setting that got changed during an update or what. Thank you.
Hi All,How do we migrate/upgrade data from legacy systems in Windchill ? Can anyone please let me know about it once.Can anyone please answer the below questions1.) Say for suppose if we wish to migrate/upgrade from Windchill Versions which are less than 9.x (say Windchill 8 or 6 or even less than that ) to a Windchill which is 10.x version. How will we be doing that ?2.) And how do people used to migrate or upgrade or do any customizations before Windchill 9.1 ? Like from Windchill 6 to Windchill 8 or from Windchill 8 to Windchill 9. So is it possible ? If yes how was that done ? 3.) Is there any documentation or guide for Legacy Windchill Migrations/Upgrade or any other development like customizations to the 10.x version ? Greetings, We only use an eBOM. Our company is new to the idea of wtParts. Historically, the tools and fixtures that are needed to make a component are called out as children to the component they are used to make. This was displayed in our ERP system. In Windchill, we did not include these tools/fixtures in the BOM. We created a tool/fixture part for all the tools and fixtures we use. Our plan is to have these tools and fixture Parts be parents of any components that requires a tool or fixture to make it. The plus side is the eBOM will not include these tools / fixtures. The downside is that when a tool/fixture Part is released, it could be published via ESI to our ERP system. The tools and fixtures are called out in text within the manufacturing document that is used to make the assembly. Our manufacturing documents are created in Arbortext (subtype EPMdocument) and would require a described by relationship. To get around this, we use a Publ
Windchill 10.1, Internet Explorer 9While trying to initiate a simple search I received the following error:Status Code: 501Message: com.ptc.jca.mvc.components.TypeBasedRedirectionInterceptor: unable to determine the context type for based lookupsI closed Windchill and re-launched. Tried it again and the search worked.The problem is this error message is popping up frequently.Note: I have chosen the correct context type when running the search. I am in need of a resource for workflow code writing? We are on Windchill PDMLink 11, M020 Nothing very complicated. On a CR, I need a bit of code that would: If primaryBusinessObject = INWORK then set sate UNDERREVIEW, else do nothing. Any item on a CR that is submitted that is in a In Work state should be set to Under Review. If it's not in a state of In Work then do nothing to that item. I would then also need to back that out again on a rework loop. If its Under Review then set to In Work, if its anything else then do nothing to that item.
Hi everyone, we regularly have a problem when trying to zip a Windchill delivery for sending to a Supplier. The error message states "The delivery ZIP file could not be created because one or more objects were deleted during the process". Retrying the operation has no effect. By increasing the logging level, you get the following exception in the MethodServer log: wt.access.NotAuthorizedException: ATTENTION: Secured Action. You do not have the necessary authorization for this operation. Discussing the problem with PTC Support, it seems that this problem is caused by either the User not having the Package Creator role (which they do have in our case), or that a related WTPart object is checked out to a Designer, making it inaccessible to the zip process. We are only interested in sending the EPMDocument to the Supplier and thus filter the parts out in the delivery. My questions are: 1. Has anyone with the Package Creator role ever come across this issue? 2. In our situation, it i
Logic for calculating the compliance verdict is too strict for some business needs. Specifically, having one or more supplier parts with no data, when there are one ore more supplier parts with a Pass status, does not mean the company part is a Partial Fail, or the BOM is a Fail. In reality, it is just partially unreported. Ability to configure this for a company's needs would be a very useful enhancement. Currently we need to do this via customization outside of WPA.
So far the WPA solutions from PTC have been addressing the changes in REACH candidate list SVHC which changes every six months (in June and Dec) . However there is no spec update happening for REACH Authorization(annexure XIV) and Restricted(Annexure XVII) and the last spec update shows 2014 though there have been many updates from ECHA since then. Many of the customers have been asking for compliance to Authorisation and Restricted list .Please let us know the roadmap for release for specs for REACH Authorization(annexure XIV) and Restricted(Annexure XVII). This have become a critical requirement from the industry now . Would like to hear from other OEMs and EMS companies who use WPA on this topic as well.
I'm in the process of testing an upgrade to Windchill 11. In my test environment that is hosting the test Windchill 10.2 environment, I went backwards to a point in time on my virtual servers that I needed to do something from again. However, Windchill will not start up now. I get the following error in my logs. Any ideas as to how to fix? I've gone backwards before and have never had an issue.
