Hi everyone,   I've been having issues with the OOTB task "View Document". Whenever I try to open a document I get the following Status Message: "Unable to Invoke Service GetDocument on DocumentAccessAppThing : Configuration error, target not includes base URL: https://[myserver]/Windchill/servlet/WindchillAuthGW/com.ptc.wvs.server.ui.UIHelper/getPartStructureED?partid=OR%3Awt.doc.WTDocument%3A228052&ncCacheCookieType=ViewablesWS&visnav=1&navcriteriaid=320326141991536014&ncCacheHostName=aa7282b2-3085-4016-bba5-efae6d75b68b&levels=-1&ncCacheSessionId=05bdfe20-2915-49fe-bf75-1a765cc1fda1&u8=1"   Also a bunch of widgets are broken as well as shown in the following image.   I tried to trace the Service that is causing this error, but can't find any "configuration" or property to solve what the Status message states. As you may know, you can create a number sequence in Oracle (and MS SQL) for use with documents wuithin Windchill, applied via the Object Initialisation Rules,  This is from PTC support to set up the sequence and the settings for the OIR: -1. Log in sqlplus with Windchill schema user.2. How to create a Report(Query Builder) or Webject to list all documents types in Windchill.

After upgrading to Windchill 11 for production we are seeing some weirdness that didn't show up in my test upgrades.  For certain actions we have the issue of "This content cannot be displayed in a frame" errors.  I have seen it happen in two locations.  One is the Related Objects - Where Used Tab for EPMDocuments and the other is when trying to do a Save As on an object.  On the Where Used, it will allow you to pick open this content in a new window and it will open a new tab.  Below is the screen shot.  Anyone have a fix for this?  This is through the browser.  If connected in CREO, it seems to not happen.  Other weird thing is that the Where Used will all of a sudden start working later on.  I do not know if that is related to opening in a new tab or not.   This seems to be tied to IE 11.  I've gone and reset all the settings in IE 11 but that didn't help.  

Hi. I have 1-step wizard with table. Table contains documents associated with part (PartDocHelper.service.getAssociatedDocuments(...)). When i submit wizard the request can contain data partly. So form processor also receives only part of the data from wizard table. Total count of documents (and rows ia table) 13 for example. Sometimes request contains data of all 13 rows, but sometimes it can be 9, 10 or 11. It does not matter what i do with wizard and what fields i fill (i have checkboxes and textarea in each row). Data from first few rows is missing. What can cause this error? Thanks.

Hello,   I have a trouble with Tree Table widget which comes from Windchill extension. Wherever it placed, it occupies exactly 50% of available width, even on pure Mashup without any other elements and without any settings at all. Screenshots are attached. If someone knows how to make it occupy all the width, I will be very thankful.

Hi Everyone,   I am trying to import the soft type created in one system to the other.   Some time the softtypes are overridden and sometime it is appended with the existing types.   Can you please let me know what is the default behaviour? Hello,   I've unfortunately been pushed into the role of Windchill admin because of the size of our company and the fact that I'm the only one with experience.   The WC server has been running fine since the initial install. I recently connected a external hard drive and setup an automated Microsoft Windows 7 Pro backup of the 😧 partition and an image of the entire internal hard drive (where WC is installed). After setting this up, the computer was turned off for a few days to a week. When I booted the WC server computer up this morning and tried to get the server up and running by signing into WCDS Control Panel, I received the following error after trying to log in: "Could not connect to the server. Check that the server is running. Details: javax.naming.CommunicationException: 0.0.0.0.4444 [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect]".   Other than setting up the backup I have not changed anything on the WC server mostly due to the fea

I'm using a restricted parameters list that creates a pull-down menu for a DESCRIPTION parameter in a start part in Windchill PDMLink 10.2.  The user selects the appropriate item from the list and the DESCRIPTION parameter gets populated.  I successfully created a relation that also populates the PTC Common Name. If the user saves the file, the PTC Common Name gets populated.  If the user selects a different item from the pull-down menu and saves the file, the PTC Common Name changes accordingly.  However, if the user tries to select a different option from the pull-down menu after the file has been Saved & Uploaded, the following message appears: Some relations are no longer satisfied in *filename* for PTC_COMMON_NAME   Is there a way to set the PTC_COMMON_NAME back to being blank after a file has been Saved & Uploaded in Windchill?

Hi All, I would like to know the solution for a scenario listed below. Please let me know what can be done to solve the same. Say for WTDocument there are 3 soft types like ADocument, BDocument and CDocument, and if I had to attach only BDocument to WTPart and not ADocument or CDocument. How would I be doing it ? In case if i try attaching ADocument or CDocument an error should pop up saying that only BDocument can be attached. How to customize the above solution ? We are using windchill 11 with the quality management system extension.  Our current project involves developing a user interface to windchill using Thingworx.  I would like to be able to make calls into windchill database (oracle) and pull out attributes using the database connectivity extension in thingworx.  As an example shown in the image below (showing the creation of a Nonconformance page) I would like to pull in the values for Severity into a Thingworx Mashup list.  Does anyone know how I can determine what tables hold the various attributes that I am interested in?

Hello,     When working in project link, the container is shared with the supplier that is owner in some activities, allowing him to change duration and/or start date from activities. But when he does that he should inform why the duration/time is being affect. As this reschedule can occur several times, I need to track the changes. In activity history only information related to dates, like estimated start date and estimated end date are stored in activity history. Is it possible add more attributes to be controled in history?      

I have "dm_overwrite_contents_on_update" set to "yes", and an overwrite in Intralink worked just fine, every time......yet now in W/C update doesn't actually do anything? Huh?

Hi everyone, this particular part while customizing is confusing me a lot. Please help!   Q. is it possible to restrict users from accessing CAD/NonCAD documents in different life cycle states in windchill pdmlink?   Example Scenario: I have users userA, userB, userC, userD, userE. I have groups groupA(uploader), groupB(viewer), groupC(approver) I have defined custom profiles and created teams also.   Lifecycle states: Inwork -> Approved -> Obsolete   What I want is userB should be restricted to view files only in Approved state and not other files(CAD/NonCAD) in Inwork or Obsolete state. I have created a lifecycle state and designated roles and access control to only read to userB and added this lifecycle in OIR but is of no good?    Am I doing it right? or should I run any command after changing OIR to implement those changes? Kindly help.

WC 11, M020 Not able to Revise a part with a Document (but can revise each separately). This is odd, why would the Revise option with associated document not be allowed but the user can revise the part and the document individually?   It works in our test environment. Same ACR, Lifecycle, Actions per Role. User is in same role.   Secured Action. You do not have necessarily authorization...

So I just completed our production upgrade from Windchill 10.2 to Windchill 11.0.  Of course there are always the little things that pop up.  Right now we are seeing goofy things out of our browsers.  An example is when we go to a wtPart page and go to the where used, nothing show up.  If we select the any of the view drop downs (either Latest or All) the where used list shows up.  If we refresh or hit F5, they disappear only to come back when clicking a view.  This happens with multiple browser types.  Clearing the browser cache.  Clearing the participant cache.  Anyone have any ideas for this?

Hi Everyone,I am wondering if we can control who can create a wtpart at a given state (In Work), but now allow a larger group of users can can revise to that same Lifecycle but not create at that lifecycle?We have a solution in adding a new "creation" lifecycle but wondering if we can do the same with access controls.This is in 10.1

Hello,   I was wondering if any one had a working example of how to create the windows symbolic link for vault when performing an Upgrade.  Since the source and target paths are different, and they cannot satisfy the upgrade process for being identical, I am told.   I found this discussion in regards to Creo, which tells me I have the right command (mklink).   My source is: C:\PTC\Windchill_10.1\VaultsTarget is: D:\ptc\Windchill_11\Vaults   Which would result in the following to make a link or pointer from the c: source directory to the d: target directory:   mklink /D C:\PTC\Windchill_10.1\Vaults D:\ptc\Windchill_11\Vaults   I know I can proceed with a test upgrade without vaults, and I will be doing that.  However, this question will come up again!   Thank you.   Regards,   IG

When a viewable fails to publish, the Details and Content tabs of the model or model drawing maintains the previously created viewable (assuming one existed). Is there a way to delete this viewable from the Details and Content tab upon a publish request failure? Doing so can prevent users from assuming that this viewable is the latest one...the one representing the current version, iteration and state of the model.

What we encounter on a regular basis since we are on Creo3 M120 and WT10.2, is that our users loose saved data.  The files are still present in the local cache, but they vanished from the workspace or appear as ghosts in the workspace. Initially, we disregarded the complaints, but more and more we are convinced there is an integrity problem with the WGM.   Any similar cases in the community?   Thanks,  Hugo.

I ran WinDU in preparation for my upgrade from Windchill 10.0 to 11.0. When I looked in the Windchill logs folder, I noticed all of the log files for every vault folder. I opened them and found in some cases hundreds of this error message.RMI TCP Connection(1797)-192.168.xx.xx: : Possibly corrupted DB: item #<some number> has no file in the folder   This from the WinDU Unrefernced file check. Does anyone have a solution? I do have a PTC call open, but that is another story!
