Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: During any workflow, a task is reassigned. For any subsequent task assignments such as any type of rework task, would like for the task to go to the last person it was assigned to for completion.Description: Joe reassigns a task to Sam. Workflow for said task progresses and during release receives a rework task. By default, it appears that the system will send the Rework notification back to Joe, who would then turn around a reassign it to Sam, again. Is there a setting or something that can be done so that the new task would go back to Sam?

I am in the middle of creating some access control rules and have the following questions for everyone:What are your best practices and considerations when creating Access Control Rules?  At what level do you create them, context or org? What considerations do you make when creating them?My first inclination is to create them as high up the structure as it makes sense.   In this particular case I want a set of rules for a custom role called ENG Admin.   Think of a Library Manager or Product Manager permissions but only for WTParts and CAD / EPM Docs.  Since it would seemingly apply to every Product and a lot of Libraries, my thought was to create it at the ORG level.I look forward to seeing what the group comes up with.-marcCAD / PLM Systems ManagerTriMark Corporation, New Hampton, Iowa

I am working with my team to make better use and integration with Problem Reports. They have a good idea of their function and use but we failed to put in the process checks to fully integrate them. I came up with a working list of deficiencies and I would like your input. Do you agree or have I missed anything? I have an older version of the PR workflow so it does not have the sync robot at the end of the process. I am leery of adding more sync robots instances to the system.   Deficiencies with Current Workflow Deficiency Description and Commentary There is no method to manually resolve Problem Reports after disposition. There are multiple cases here to address: Accepted Problem Report is not properly associated to a Change Request and that change request is resolved. The Problem Report should be linked and moved to the Resolved State but the resolution date would not be set. This is typically done via workflow. The resolution state is not an editable field. I have a brand new install of PDMLink 13 and noticed in my testing that both Change Request and Problem Report are missing from actions. I am still in the middle of configuring things so I have applied my customizations from 12 and brought in my lifecycles, workflows and OIRs. I do see Change Notice and Promotion Request. Scratching head here but I am sure its something simple.  I do have some additional actions like Delete Representations that I added in. I checked the licenses and the user I am testing does have Windchill Advanced license among others. What's weird is that if I look at jcaDebug, its not even greyed out.    

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: We are trying to keep track of open/pending Problem Reports/Change Requests/Change Notices in our system. We would like to see, on a single page, all unresolved Problem Reports and if they have a Change Request/Change Notice already created. If a Problem Report is "Accepted", it may mean that a Change Request needs to be created. It may mean that a Change Request has already been created but not implemented, or it could mean that we are waiting to implement it at a future date. By creating a report that shows us the entire chain (PR+state, CR+state, CN+state), we can easily determine where something is stalled in the process.Description: In the report builder, I can't figure out which tables to link to get all of the information on a single page. Ideally, we would want to start with all unresolved Problem Reports, then display associate process objects with other columns on the same row.

Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: When you need to manage 169 Contexts, especially the different roles, it's a lot of clicking. There is no way to get directly to the team, after you found it. You first need to click it, then go to the most recent-tree, expand the list and then click the Team. I want to speed it up with an "import exportable spreadsheet"-behaviour like it's implemented for parts/BOMs.Description: In the advanced search, you can search for contexts, just by selecting the contexts as types and searching for a "created" timeslot that matches the time Windchill exists in the company.But I cannot import/export that. Is there an easy way to do that similarly, since the object types are not allowed to export?

So, I have not used this before but am force feeding myself online docs related to BAC. I have a fresh empty Development instance of 13.0.2 and would like to flow my changes from Dev to Test (Clone of Prod) to Prod eventually and utilize BAC to do that. My previous experience has been doing this manually. I have a few questions. 1. Am I correct in assuming that I cannot use BAC to export changes from my 12.0.2 system to my new Dev system right? I would use traditional export mechanisms lifecycles, workflows, types and other setup to align my Dev instance to what my current production system has.  2. After I complete my upgrade of Prod to 13.0.2 and clone to create my Test instance, I would have to baseline Dev/Test/Prod to start and register them to allow this process to work correct? What happens if I make slight differences to these environments before this baseline? Any gotcha's or best practices before I start configuring my empty Dev instance? Its a clean slate now.

Hi Sumit,   I have a custom utility on Promotion Notice and I want to retrieve all task data like name, number, role, assignee, activity name, vote, and comments as well. So, I  retrieved all the data but I am STRUGGLING to get user comments and votes while approving the promotion request or while performing the "approve" task. If you have sent a snap of code then it would be highly appreciated.

As far as I can see in the documentation such customization should be possible.e.g.Sample Code for VariantLoadNavCriteriaBean API but the problem is I cannot findVariantSpecLoaderHelper.service.loadVariantSpecs(beans, partConfigSpecBeans, atoConfigSpecBeans);The classes for 'VariantSpecLoaderHelper' are not present in the Windchill installation and I do have license and I am able to manually create Variant Specification in the system.Can you help me to resolve this issue?

Version: Windchill 12.1 The goal is to compare what licenses are in use, and what the user have.To do that I'm planning to compare what is assigned to them to the list from the Detailed License Usage from license management report. But I only could find a way to get that for users who are directly assigned to a license group. For those who were assigned to a new group and then this group was assigned to a profile group, I couldn't manage to get a report on what license they have. I'm trying to to do that with the business report. I've looked the QML repositories but still haven't found a way to get those indirectly assignment. Does anyone know a how to have that info?

Hi everyone, In my company we have a numbering which goes like; 504-92611301 (ASM)          - 504-92611301-1          - 504-92611301-2          - 504-92611301-3          - 504-92611301-4 But, Creo creates part numbers randomly and i need to rename every single thing one by one. It is okay with several parts but sometimes I have thousands of parts in one assembly. Is there any way to rename parts in an order? Thanks in advance -Enes

Hi,We have just updated our TEST System to 10.2 M030 CPS10 (only released today) and I am trying to compile the CATIA V5 Abstraction dll's for the WGM.I have successfully compiled dll's for CATIA versions 18 to 24, but version 25 fails with the error saying "ERROR - Abstraction or loader files don't exist"It seems a bit strange when setting up the compilation environment as the CATVBTsetup command does not show a Visual Studio checkbox, only showing an Eclipse/IBM Rational Applications one, which I think is indicative that something is wrong (presumably with the CATIA / API / RADE) software - but I have tried this with both GA and SP3 versions of the CATIA software and get the same issue. In which case, others should be seeing this problem too.I have logged a call with PTC, but was wondering if anyone else had seen this?RgdsGary

I am using Windchill MPMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.2.9i have a user who uses spacemouse for his work but for some reason he is not able to rotate and zoom and basically use the space mouse for the visualization in Bom Transformer.when he uses space mouse in Creo view it works like it should.

After successfully installing Windchill using PSI I entered my credentials when prompted after that Windchill says the service is unavailable in Windchill page
