Hello,   I was wondering if anyone has written code to read in/write out the binary s01 (and other) files?   (I understand the structure of the file and yes I know I can output as ascii, I can do it with ascii but it is inefficient and my code writing skills are woeful)   Reason for request : I will retire before PTC to sort out node numbering and lack of signed vm stress.   Thanks    

When you inspect a part using Creo Simulate, you can view your results in multiple windows. For example, the image below shows a Von Mises stress analysis, displacement, and principle stress vectors.   Great. But now, to inspect the model, you have to rotate the geometry in each individual window.   A series of unsynchronized results.   Wouldn’t it be handy if the system synchronized the geometry? That way, when you spin or zoom in one window, all of the others follow.   Well, in Creo 4, you CAN tie together results windows! Here’s how: Synchronize Orientation Control To lock and synchronize windows, just follow these steps: In Creo Simulate, open multiple display windows. Click View > Tie Orientation. Check to see which window is currently selected. Then, click on each of the other windows so they are all selected and tied together. Now, rotation and zoom actions performed in any window automatically updates all results windows.   A series of synchr

Hi Simulate Users,   Within Creo Simulate are contact features supported in a Modal analysis? If they are, how do you enable them in a Modal Analysis? If not, does any one know if an enhancement request has been created and where to find it? No support for Modal and Contacts analysis? Thanks, Don  

I have run into this on multiple occasions and I usually just find a work-around.  I have mechanism in an assembly, such as a pneumatic cylinder.  That mechanism is what drives another component until it reaches a contact with something else.  I don't want to change the distance of travel for that cylinder just so my upper assembly is more accurate.  Is there a way to model a contact surface using cam followers or something similar?    Thank you in advance.

I'm trying to use a finite friction contact interface, but I'm getting the warning   "The analysis is invalid because finite contact interface is not supported for small displacement analysis."   This implies I should be using large displacement analysis... but that's greyed out so I can't select it.   What am I doing wrong?

I'm working on a model of an inverted pendulum with most of the materials being steel or aluminum. A force of 1mN is applied to the pendulum, however in creo simulate, it show a very large displacement of the model which doesn't seem correct to me. Does anyone have any advice on this?

hey guys!   I'm new to the creo, currently using creo2. I want to design a plastic cover that has all outter surfaces curved to the outside (convex) because straight surfaces can cause many issues when injection moulding.   I attached the file, bellow is the procedure: I used a blend function with top and bottom section - i tried with surface blend + thicken and solid blend + shell I used a boundary blend (surfaces) to create the top curved part (1/4) and then pattern. I tried with surfaces + merge + thicken but it returns an error I tried with solid blend for bottom part and surface + fill + merge + solidify for top and then shell and it also returns an error.   I suspect the way I chose to create the top curved part might not be ok, but I ran out of ideas.

Hello, I need help for my final thesis. I want to simulate a pull-force at a piston rod connected to a valve. I modelled a simplified modell. The elasto-plastic material modell (second picture) put out some unexplainable results. Does someone already had this problem or can help me please? Is it possible to create a mapkey that would run the evaulate command within the relation editor? I can use the button in the relation editor "=?" but I would love to have a keyboard short cut for this command. I'm guessing it would have to be a function key like $F4.  I can create the mapkey and it works but only when it's ran from the mapkey management window, but not when I press F4 on my keyboard.             

The surface finish symbol create in part mode and attached to surface of the feature can be shown in detail (drawing mode), but after suppressing and resuming this feature it doesn't show automatically as dimensions, and must be show manually, even using drawing program do not resolve this issue. My customer wants to automatize this proces using drawing program functionality. Proper function exist during record states but did not work while execute drawing program.Question is how to automatize process of showing this symbol in drawing.

Hi everyone,   I am trying to run a payload random vibration analysis in Creo Simulate of the cubesat rails with the top plate and two root actuators that deploy one panel. I have defined the PSD table with frequencies ranging from 20-2000Hz and ASD levels in (g^2/Hz) as uni-directional translation in the (1,1,1) direction. I have 2 problems: 1. When I try calcuating deflections of the panel, I get absurd values which are 1/3rd the size of the panel. Do you have any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong? I know that's not a lot of information but I am open to ideas. 2. I need to get the output PSD response. I can't figure out how to get that. Can somebody help with that? 

Can anyone else confirm this very very annoying flashing white screen that I have been getting? To the best of my recollection this was not happening in previous makes of Creo 4.   It occurs when opening any file that isn't already an open window, when toggling the display of the navigator window, and expanding or collapsing the ribbon.   If everyone is getting this I will contact PTC and see what they can figure out    

So, we just changed our license servers over, and after pointing the software to the new server, this is the error I get. Any advice?

I have a pro blem when saving creo file. When I click on save. Creo parametric only generate a wrong file folder with the name of "XXX-part.Number". It cannot be open by creo. So all changes are lost. So pitty.            

Hi I would like to know the logic behind asking for poisson's ratio when creating a 3d contact. Creo solves MDO by rigid body motions and contact forces are modeled by penetration depths if i'm correct. But Poisson's ratio really means deformation in square directions, so how exactly does it effect results when bodies are completely inelastic in the analysis. Thanks

Anyone try the new weld functions in Creo 4.0 ?   Couple questions, 1. modifying note behind the tail & 2. edge prep: specifically where the cut should exist in the part or as a cut in the assembly.   Tail symbol If one wants to modify behind the tail of the weld symbol in Creo 4.0 weld tool (not a drawing symbol) With a symbol in drawing it's easy. In Creo 4.0 weld tools however I struggle modifying from the default number into a note. Ideas how to modify behind the tail of a weld symbol (not drawing symbol)  Notice in the attached picture that tail counts 1-4.  Since that tail area is for added notes I should be able to modify that note from a digit to a legitimate note.   Edge Prep If I apply a weld with a V or J-groove into a weldment as edge prep, don't I want that edge prep to exist in the assembly as an assembly cut?  Shouldn't there be an option or choose within the tool?    Creo 4.0 seams to default to the part at this time. &n

Whenever I go to use the measure function in creo parametric 4 on a model or assembly the program freezes then crashes. Not an intermittent problem, this happens every single time the tool is used. the software has been updated since the problem started which did not help. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how was it resolved. Thank you in advance.

Hello,I am using a hyperelastic material model. To check the simulation, I defined a monitor point to see the stress in the function of strain. I think, the defined matarial curve and the stress-strain curve from monitor point should be same. But the result shows quite interesting curve:The curve from result gives lower stress value compared to the defined material model.What is the reason?ThanksRoland

This morning, when I opened CREO Parametric 3.0, I received this message:   When I clicked continue, I received a message about a 'jQuery' error and 'Script' error. When I requested for the script to stop running, I was faced with this blue screen:     So, I proceeded to shut down my computer. When I rebooted my computer and opened the Creo program, I received the retrieval message again, along with the blue screen. I decided to shut down and reboot my computer. After the rebooting process, I uninstalled all Creo 3.0 files and installed Creo 4.0 files.   When I open Creo, I still get the retrieval message, but I also get a 'Warning Message List':   Clicking OK on this warning completely closes Creo Parametric.   Is anyone else encountering this issue and have you found a solution?
