Hi i am new user for arboertext. I prepere user manuals on arbortext. Curently we need combobox or checkbox in arbortext. Is it possible? If possible how can I? Do you have advice to me for arbotext?

We have one copy of IsoDraw 7.1 and FlexLM installed on a server providing a floating license. The one IsoDraw user recently got a new computer. Now when we point the "PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE" variable to the server, we get the message "License Request Failed for Feature ISODRAW". I checked communications between the server and the PC and found no issues. I was able to use a diagnostic program to successfully talk on port 7788 between the client and the server. All firewalls and antivirus were opened up. The FlexLM log files show that 1 license is available, but don't log any attempts to connect or use the license. Any suggestions?Only one thing I can think of. On the user's previous system, he might have had IsoDraw 7.0. Would a license that supports 7 also support 7.1?

 Our Arbortext Editor terminates with no warning and closes all open Arbortext Editor windows when we try to publish SGML to PDF! Does anyone know of any solution to this problem? Oussama

Hey Guys, we have an Dongle with an Floating License on a CAD PC installet and now we wanted to install it on a new CAD PC and it doesnt work (Error Message: License query for IsoDraw failed) . Now my Questions are if we need to configure the Dongle with the FlexLm Server new or it`s because of the different Versions from the License (7.1) and the Software (7.0 from install CD).   Greetings Timo

I just open our template, apply new modification, save and close, and when i click apply in entity option, i got error message a shown in attachment???

Is there a way to run a command on a file that is not already open in Arbortext editor? For example, am I able to run a publish command on a xml file not currently open?  

Hi all,   Please any one let me know how to implement validation, as i have a xml document and the xml document has hierarchy of element as parent and child element and have the attribute as whose value can be Y or N.   If the parent have the attribute value as Y and if the child element have also attribute value as Y, so here parent has the attribute value as Y, so no need to have attribute value as Y in child.   In this case how can i show a message to user that, no use of making the attribute value as Y, if the parent is having already.   Can anyone help me on this?  

I would like to import 3D model in DITA Architecture by Arbortext Editor and same to be rendered as PDF. The 3D Model should be having the possibility of changing the orientations, explode, zoom in/out in PDF. Is it possible with the Arbortext Editor?Also what are the graphics / animation files format supported by Arbortext Editor in DITA?Note: We tried inserting *.u3d format in PDF directly using Acrobat Professional 9.0. Currently when you publish web output from editor the links open in the same tab. Can they be modified to open in a new tab?   Bryon

Hey up everyone - I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on a couple of problems I've run into...1. I"m trying to develop a macro that will correctly format a batch of illustrations. So far everything's going to plan, but what I thought would be the easiest bit is proving the hardest. I want to use the 'fit to page' function, but I can't record it (the function is greyed out) and I can't find any reference in the help manual to script it either. Anyone done this before? After some digging it looks like this may only be a function available in 7.3 - I have 7.2, can anyone confirm?2. I'm also trying to select any text which is less than 7pt. I have 2 different sizes on the illustration so I can't use the 'font_size is not' function. I've been trying to develop a macro to select the smaller sized text and then lock it using the box.top and box.bottom parameters, but it fails to select the smaller size text, just the last piece of text on the illustration. Hello everyone, Have you seen any issues with Drag and Drop in Arbortext Editor 7?  We're seeing behavior where selected text jumps to the middle of the screen when trying to drag it to a new location.  This is most obvious in tables, but also occurs with other tags.  I haven't found any sort of advanced preference that would control something like this.  Deleting the preferences file does not help. This issue is particularly noticeable when selecting text towards the bottom of the Arbortext window and trying to drag it to the top part of the window, especially when a table takes up the entire window.  As soon as I begin to move the text, the file window scrolls so the selected text is suddenly relocated vertically to the middle of the screen.  This does not occur in Arbortext 5.4, and I don't know about Arbortext 6 behavior.Have any of you seen this and know how to resolve it?  Thanks!>> Randy

Does anyone know what dll the doEval function depends on? or where the aom.jar file is reading the dlls from? I'm fairly new to working with arbortext, so any help would be appreciated.     

Good afternoon when you publish for web how do get the cgms to show for all users. Only our users with IsoDraw can see the CGMS. I guess another question is should we be using cgms or svgs. It seemed with svgs that you loose the ability to zoom and pan on the image.   Thanks   Bryon

We are using arbortext 6.1, we are using custom application containing different schemas and it is referenced from a server....application works fine in arbortext 6.1 but the same same application is not working properly in arbortext 7.0 getting unknown tags and attribute errors saying its not defined in xsd file, which is really strange. structure of the application is each schema folder is different under doctypes for ex - doctypes->diagonostic, doctypes->description etc so each schema has its own xsd files, schema template and catalog file, dcf file etc.   need help on this asap!   please let me know the root cause of this issue Awaiting your reply

  We have just installed Arbortext Editor v7, our first installation.  When we try and  open a 1.8 DM, we get a "dtd did not compile message", with the following explaination.  Dtgen.exe Parser Error: While parsing file C:\Users\martin.eggleston2\Desktop\AECMA1-8\dm\DOCTYPES\descript.dtd: Cannot find file called C:\Program Files\PTC\Arbortext Editor/markit/ispudir. Is it in the currently active directory (err:1 line:18  pos:1064) Compile failed - rc=32  Can anyone help?  Please realise that we are NOT expert users… 

I want to find this attribute: client.key="v867357415" where the value can be any string of numbers and letters 10 in length.    I tried to do a find in the raw xml  with client.key=".........."  and nothing is found. How can I find this?

Good morning, we are starting to work on creating html output. As I am completely new to this where do I start? I have copied over the framesets folder to my application. I would like to remove the  related links that are created, where do I look to do this.   Thanks   Bryon

Hi all, I can't find information about Wacom tablet (like Wacom Intuos) hardware support in Arbortext IsoDraw. Do you use any graphics tablets to draw illustrations? Thanks Ludek

Getting this error when trying to publish pdf. The pdf gets created but I cannot open and I get this error and the PDF does not open. Adobe says it's corrupted when I try to open. Does this have to do with my version Java?
