Hi,I am working with Editor 5.4 and print composer using the MIL-STD-2361D 45001-2A stylesheets. I have a customer's comment about single line notes, warnings and cautions that says the mil spec needs these single lines to be centered, but the stylesheet formats all <trim.para> the same: indented from both margins and quad left.I've tried inserting a custom touchup - 1) around the text within the <trim.para> element and also 2) around the <trim.para> element itself to override the quad left alignment but either way it is ignored and the line composes indented and quad left. I know the stylesheet respects some touchups because it allows me to put in newpage touchups with no problem.Example of markup:<note><trim.para>Testing note alignment override for centering.</trim.para></note>Can someone point out to me what I'm doing wrong here? is there some other solution or is this not possible?Thanks, KM

We are experiencing a problem with displaying the cursor in XUI textbox controls. The cursor seems to be located in a position just to the left of the beginning of the visible spece inside the textbox control. When the dialog displays, a cursor is systematically located in the first of many textbox controls, but the user can not see it because it is hidden just to the left of the beginning of the field. For example, If we type in a value such as "Bob the Duck", the left side of the "B" in Bob is slighly cut off. If we type in a date like "08/22/2010", the left side of the first "0" is slightly cut off. The most irritating thing about this situation is that while the cursor is actually in the correct field, the user can not see it there until they type at lease one character in the field.I have attached an MS Word document with a couple small screen shot images that show the visual affects of this problem. Greetings adepters,64-bit Windows 7, 8 GIG RAM, 3.3 gig CPU, AE 5.3m040, 167 free on HD.I have a strange intermittent problem. One of my users is working on a change to a document. He wants to insert a STEP1 element between two other STEP1 elements, but the element is not available for insertion (as shown in the screen shot). If I edit selection as SGML source and manually type in the <step1><para></para></step1> it works and doesn't create a context error.Sometimes the quick-tags menu or the insert Markup works for inserting one STEP1 element and then the STEP1 element is no longer available for insertion of a second STEP1 element. This behavior has been intermittently duplicated on several different PCs. I have tried restarting AE and rebooting the PC but that did not solve the problem. STEP1 elements are not the only elements where this happens. It sometimes affects PARA0 or SUBPARA1 or ITEM elements also. Does anyone have any idea about what causes this and

What I am now trying to do is see if I can modify an exisiting script to add new functionality to it. But I need help as I am not a programmer.The first script is for creating index term for part numbers in a column in a table. You place your cursor in the colomn that you want the index to show and press f12. It runs our auto_index.acl script (thanks Dmitry), works pretty good, doesnt stop when there is a blanks cell. I want to customize the transaction archive list jsp page in PE (archivelist.jsp) by adding a column that shows how long the transaction took. I've got the customized code in place and working, but I made my changes to the archivelist.jsp file in PE's install directory. I'd like to have an overridden file rather than changing the stock jsp file, for obvious reasons. Dear AllPlease help: Client is working on a manual that has Figures on Even Pages and corresponding Tables on Odd Pages.I have been battling to achieve the desired result with Page Sets, in addition, the challenge comes in where a Table for one Figure runs over 2 pages - I need the Table to break, then either the Figure is repeated on the Even Page or the page is left blank, then the Table continues on the Odd Page.What I have been getting is once I have defined a Page Set with Left and Right Page Types, I get the image on Even page, half the Table (which is correct) on the next (Odd Page), then the image again (Even Page) and my content flow stops the Table does not continue to the other page and my whole document does not output (PDF) i.e. only outputs up to the last Even Page with the image.Your assistance will be highly appreciated in this regard.Thanking youTshediso

is it posible to integrate interupts in IsoDraw macros? the problem is when macro is runing it is imposible to zoom in or zoom out, and some time later I get white screen.wait mouseClick is not working as I want, it wait for mouse click, but as I said it is not posible to zoom.

I want tosuppress a Dynamic Link Manager (DLM) insert link dialog from opening whena particular element is inserted that I want to manage and not let DLMmanage it.Although Help says the insert_tag callback will not fire if DLM is enabled,it does in fact fire, it just fires late (at least for my purposes ...after I cancel/escape the insert link dialog). Although Help doesn't sayanything about the insert_tag_after callback, this callback does NOT fireafter inserting a link.I tried both the link and linkto callback and neither fires.If DLM is disabled, then the insert_tag callback fires before the elementis inserted and the insert_tag_after callback fires after the element isinserted. This allows me to set requireattrs=off before the element isinserted so no link dialog opens and set requireattrs=on after the elementis inserted so other elements I am not worried about will launch the modifyattributes dialog on insertion if req

Hello,We're currently have a DMP web application deployed as a help system for an application. We're looking to enhance this by making it context sensitive. Does anyone have experience with implementing this? The documentation on the DMP JavaAPIstates "A file-name-to-ID mapping file named idmap.properties is generated during the publishing process."I'm looking for this mapping file so I can identify the file id to call from the display method, but I can't find this mapping file. Does anyone know where it is or how I generate it? I can't find it in the WAR file the PE produces.Thanks.

We have some data that is being exposed via a JSON web service that is being consumed in a custom XUI app. The content provided in the JSON data already has a variety of entity references in it (ex: &). When we pass this data to the createTextNode(...) method of the Document class, it translates the "&" character in the & entity to a "&", resulting in the value & being stored in the SGML document. Clearly, we could modify the JSON service to no longer output entity references, but is there another way to skin this cat? Is there a way to cause the createTextNode(...) Document class method not translate characters to entities as described above?Alternative suggestions are welcome.Regards,Tom

So Ive run into a problem and can not find any solution on the internet for Isodraw 7.2 cursor info not being able to display. I thought if I reset to factory settings or deleted my preferences it would help but still no solution. The Cursor info can not be turned on and when I hover over it, it says Curso info is not shown (Enable background drawing first). I searched for how to activate the background and nothing came up. I saw a thread on here about 7.1 having a problem with not being able to show curso info. Which a couple people responded with going into your preferences and selecting buffered drawing to enable it.Which Use OpenGL is checked and anti - aliasing is checked. But unchecking either of those does not free up the Use Buffered drawing to be checked. I mean ultimately Id like to just be able to place my cursor over a line and have it show the midpoint of the line so I can accurately mirror the line and build symmetrical pieces. Thanks

I need help eliminating orphans in indexes. I'm a new user, so I don't have enough experience with Styler to modify a stylesheet that was prepared for us by a third-party vendor. Is there a way to associate indented text blocks so they travel together across columns and pages without leaving large gaps? Example below:

We have a XUI dialog window which contains numerous textbox fields. On this same dialog, we have a button which when clicked, needs to insert a predefined text string at the cursor location in the textbox that had focus when the button was clicked. Note that the cursor may not be at the start of the value in the textbox. Hi,I'm wondering if there is any way to use XHTML tables in my documents, but limiting what can be used, so I will only have <table>, <td>, <tr>, and a couple of attributes.Actually what I need is the editor to recognize my model of tables (a very simple one based on xhtml) as table and therefore to be able to use the table tool of the editor to create and modify them.If I just simplifyxhtml-tbl.dtd in the entities folder, the editor doesn't recognize anymore my model as a table.I have also tried to modify the dcf file, but besides telling the editor what model to use (CALS or html), I can't see how to take advantage of it...Any suggestions?_____________________________Gabriel Oreggioni

Hi all,I'm trying to install and configure the Flexera licensing server to deliverfloating Print Composer licenses. (We used fixed licenses for Editor.) I amworking with support. But we seem to be going around in circles a bit. Hasanyone had to work through firewall and McAfee or other safety-ware issues?From what we can tell, the server is installed properly and all of thenecessary firewall rules server-side, were created by the install.The client is not able, however, to reach the server (no log entries everacknowledge requests/denials).I have created Inbound and Outbound Firewall rules that permit TCP to/from7788 in Domain and Private (but not Public) matching the entries created onthe server.I can telnet from my laptop to the server port 7788. Hello! I have to use obsolete Arbortext Editor 5.2. I need to collect text from XML in a certain way (I need to put '\n' for some text nodes in result string). I've already made a function in Java 5 which executes this using activeDocument. But I have problems using internal Java shipped with Arbortext Editor when I deal with unopenedXML files.I want to get org.w3c.dom.Document object and then pass it to my function.I used default code with DocumentBuilder factory, it led toorg.apache.xerces.dom.DeferredDocumentImpl exception.I try to use DOMParser which implementation is here:xercesImpl.jarI need to ignore "DTDs not found"/namspace errors.
