I'm trying to create a relations in my model that is determined by whether it's metric or inch. I've been unable to find the parameter that reports if the model is metric or inch. I have a call into PTC, but they have not called me back, so I'm turning to the experts. Is there a parameter in the model that states the units of the model, if not is there a way to get that in other ways? Thanks in advance,Mike Heath
I am new to pro/e, looking for books to purchase for learning this program.
I have a fast connection but I am still seeing an eight hour download time and have restarted think I had a bad connection the first time but still slow. Is there a CD or DVD available that I can get?I downloaded the 64bit edition before but it had a command line failure, so here I go again.
It sure would help if my resource center was working. When I click on help center, the mouse cursor changes to the busy icon and the program just hangs. In the tray, I get a nice circle with an X icon relling me that Help Center is running, but that's about it.If I double click the icon, it eventually brings up a browser with the default help page. Context Sensitive Help is therefore also useless.I paid for the eLearning Library 1 year subscription, and cannot log into that either. How do I get this working? What did I just pay $200 for? Tech support is unresponsive.Windows 7 Professional x64 SP18GB RAM
Dear PTC,Why can't I log my calls online anymore?Regards
Hi all, i have been trying to figure out how to write a relation, but without success. I have a parameter P1 which has a string value of 2A. I am trying to make the diameter of a cylinder = 102mm if P1 = 2A, so how do i write this? I tried the following but it did not workIF(P1==2A)d233=102ENDIFI guess a string value cannot be used in a relation in this way.RegardsJohn
I have some diskless systems, that currently have ProductView installed in the image.I'd like to remove this from the image and install it on a mounted drive. This is how I have ProE installed.I'm wondering if anyone has done this and knows what paths I need to set to get this to work properly. When I search through the registry there are a lot of entries for pview.exeDavid HaighPhone: 925-424-3931Fax: 925-423-7496Lawrence Livermore National Lab7000 East Ave, L-362Livermore, CA 94550
Huh, sounds like it's not possible. Goofy. I'll just create ruledriven layers with the same names. Thanks, Doug Schaefer
I bought Wildfire 4.0 Student Addition. I am trying to use my sketcher palette so I can draw a polygon. When I bring up the palette its just a blank screen....any suggestions

i have a flexible hose-pipe that is attached to a skeleton-frame that will rotate up to 90 degrees. in the flat position it a has a free length of roughly 600mm. when the arm is rotated it has a length of roughly 670mm (free length).i want to be able to run an analysis with the angle as the variable to drive the hose length change so that in the flat position it maintains the longest length needed from the rotated length (I have changed the hose section flex shape to a fixed length for the curve ).what is the best way to achieve this while maintaining tangency?I should also mention that the point to point hose length I'm talking about is from the fitting to the first clamp (hidden in these pictures).so if there is a way for pro-e to calculate what the longest length of the hose will be when rotated while in the flat position i would love to know.
How do you go about dimensioning a diameter on a detailed cross section for a cylindrical object?Thanks,-chris.
Hi all there,Does anybody have autoaxis for 32 and 64bit, for Wildfire 5?thank you very much!!!best regards,-- ----------------------------nk/.
Anyone have a simple 3D (Pro/E or IGES, etc.) or even 2D CAD (dxf or dwg) rendition of a black hawk helicopter? I just need it as a back drop. Do not need a great amount of detail. Found it online....but they want big bucks.
Afternoon All,Has anyone run across the vertical black line symbol, shown below, whilein NC? The sequence is completely defined and the play path looks good. Anyonehave a clue what this symbol is indicating? ThanksBrian

Hi alls,I have to analyse a floor steel structure under static pressure and it's not a problem.furthermore, I have to analyse it also under displacement of a trolley and they speak about fast movement. So, any ideas on how to consider fast motion in mechanica structure ?Thanks,GB
Hi all, i have a simple relation d8=p1*p2, where p1=206 & p2=1.0065 making d8=207.339ok, here is my problem, i want this value to be exactly 207.3400, but rounded to 2 decimal places, so 207.34, now i know about floor & ceil, if i write the realtion with floor (,2), then i get 207.33 (exactly) & if i write the relation with ceil (,2), then i get 207.34 (exactly). So what is the problem you ask, i have the required value of 207.34, but the next time d8 might equal 169.229, floored would give 169.22, but i would require 169.23. Once the relation is written, it is written, i don't want to get into a situation where i have to keep swapping between floor & ceil to achieve a correct rounding up or down. I will give a couple more examples of what i want to achieve, in the hope that somebody understands my requirements.actual value 223.234, required value 223.2300, but rounded to 2 places, so 223.23actual value 125.987, required value 125.9900, but rounded to 2 places, so 125.9
Does anyone have a model of an extension spring that they would be willing to share??Fred J. Matthis-

We just moved over to m070 of creo from wf3 m240. We have now found an issue for items that were imported as neutral files imported into wf3 not opening in creo. We are also on windchill 9.1 m050. I have gone back to wf3 and can still open these items. I Have tried to do a save and go back to creo and they still will not open. has anyone seen anything like this anywhere?
Hi, has anyone got some good links to a relatively new user to Mechanica.TIA
