Does anybody find that wildfire is a bit of a strain on the eyes compared to 2001? white lines on a light grey background is a bit difficult to view in my opinion. I know you can edit it this, just wonder why it was done like that? Has anyone else found this? or is it just my bad eye sight
Why does we need use internationnal numbers to call, support lines. And when we asked 10 to 15 a line for an internationnal call to find an answer at the support, we lose more time than calling a local provider. (yes for playing music there are other address) The problem is: we are not enough interresting to have a reply from the nearest PTC office in the same city. Wow ! Our monney is not too bad enough ? Still waiting the return of the person who begun our support call two/three years ago... perhaps he lost his flying ticket ? Well for a world record, it could be one. hum... My second question is : How many times will all questions stay without replies.
Finally found the solution for this. Limitations of other solutions:ProMenubuttonPreactionSet() and ProMenubuttonPostactionSet() work forMenu-Manager (mode-specific) menus only.PRO_WINDOW_CHANGE_POST will be useful if there are multiple windows andone of them is closed. Correct Solution:I am using ProCmdBracketFuncAdd to catch the command. For this, we must know the command name which we can obtain from Trailfile. For "File->Close Window" the command name is "ProCmdWinClose". /*--------------------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Find uiCmdCmdId of the command to be handled */uiCmdCmdId close_window_cmd_id;status = ProCmdCmdIdFind("ProCmdWinClose", &close_window_cmd_id); /* Catch the command */if (status == PRO_TK_NO_ERROR){ ProCmdBracketFuncAdd(close_window_cmd_id, (uiCmdCmdBktFn) FileCLoseAction, "FileCLoseAction", (void**)NULL);} ProError FileCLoseAction(uiCmdCmdId command, uiCmdValue *p_new_value, int entering_command, void **data){ /* entering_command =

Hello all, I am a new user and I'm really lost! I use Mechanica Wildfire 2.0 (without Pro/Engineer) and I want to know which system units are defined by default and how to change them. I've read that in Pro/Mechanica the system units by default are Inches-Pounds-Seconds. Also I've read that in Mechanica there are no units, it only works with the values you enter... Is that correct? And I think... if there are no system units, how can you know, if the result is meter or milimeter or ... Thanks a lot.

Hi all, Is there a way to make "component outline" in Pro/E as can be done in "Product view"? (In shaded view - make colored body edges - outlined in black) this can be very helpful to quickly understand bodies with many features
Gentlemen,I am in need of examples of companies that have, or are switching from Solidworks to Pro/E. I have received a document stating that there is but one such case, that of PT Tech. This sounds rather suspect, but the implications are seriously hindering our ongoing efforts.Any references please,Haben Sie einen WunderbarenTag.Have a great day.Gregory Richards

As usual, I made a fool out of myself but not just trying this first. Imust admit that I had never tried to actually paste something into the iconeditor in Pro, but I just figured that it would not work. I just alwaysassumed (and we all know where that gets one) that the copy/pastefunctionality in the icon editor was just for use inside of the icon editor. Not true! You CAN paste things into the icon editor in Pro. I used Alt-PrintScreen todo captures on the icons that I wanted, pasted into Paint, and thendownsized to 20 x 20 pixels, the size of the Pro icons. The results werenot all that whoopi, but it does work, and it at least gives you some placeto start. I did download a free icon editor as well, and that really didn'thelp a lot, because utlimately you still have to copy and paste into Pro,and the results were about the same as coming out of Paint. That could havealso been the icon editor that I chose as well. Thanks to all the respondents. Here's the responses that I received:I was

Dear All, I know that this topic has been discussed many times... but want to discuss it with you because of a personal esigency... I need to know which of the 2 systems is : 1. The fastest in building parts from a macro file (that is without using the GUI) 2. The easiest to build parts from a macro file (or some other way) and to have them built correctly 3. The system which is mostly used in industry Please document your thought by pointing to some document or some technical review!
Have wildfire2 with Mechanica student version, and am having trouble using the large deformation option (greyed out) - just wondering if this is supposed to work in the student edition?
Thanks for the quick replies. It seems that there are a lot of sitesout there providing free and commercial fonts. I did not get anyrecommendations for a specific font and I will just have to sort outwhat we want and go from there. Thanks, Ron Grabau Responses below: Hi Ron, Interesting question. I have been looking for something like that for along time and keep coming up empty handed. I wonder how one would goabout creating a custom font.
