Good morning:I'm really not one to whine, but does anyone else here find it asinine thatwhen I specify that I want a note with leader attached to an intersection, Istill have to hold the control key to select the two lines whoseintersection I want to attach to? I mean, one can't possibly have anintersection without selecting 2 lines, so why this redundancy? I also takeexception to the fact that when I'm using Show/Erase, I also have to holdthe Control key to select more than one item, or I only get the lastselection. Seems to me it was much more logical for Pro to include all itemsselected while the dialog box was active...Sorry for the rant... having a rough week 🙂

We're considering performing some analysis in the future in-house of somefiberglass tanks. These tanks tend to be fiberglass wound, they are woundin 1 direction at a specified angle and then back at the opposite angle, producing a fairly strong structure. They also contain either a steelbottom or a fiberglass lay-up bottom. We want to determine the wall thickness and tank property limitations, tanksizes and shapes for burial in various media. We have mechanica in-house,and I'm sure we could make up some isotropic properties to give us ballparkresults. What we'd really prefer, and would hold more weight, is a moreprecise analysis using tools intended for our application (namely, glasswound vessels). Do any of you have recommendations on other softwareavailable to perform such analysis. --Scott
I want to give away my boxed set of Rasna Mechanica ver 7 (last set before they became Pro/Mechanica) books and the CD (even though you can't run the program). Other than shelf wear and scuffing, the box case is in good physical shape. I believe all the books are in good shape.I've held on to them since we started Pro/E and I can't stand the idea of trashing them. Someone can have them if they pay shipping & provide a nice home for them.I'll respond to interested folks within a day or so.thanks, John(Sorry in advance if I offend anyone by not sending this to the Network-list. Sim-list seems most appropriate)
I didn't receive any replies on this, so I'll chalk the issue up to legend and go on my merry way using either type of location.- WallaceWallace White wrote:> > A coworker has a vague recollection of non-obvious differences between > the location options (default vs. explicit coord sys) of data sharing > features like ExtCopyGeom. Here is the summary of what I received. I will not post all the responsessince most of them are the same. Thanks everyone
Wow, that was fast. Thanks Derrick. It makes no sense to me why I needto use shift vs. control, but hey. It works.Utilize the shift key instead of the control key.Derrick AndrewsMechanical DesignerRespironicsPhone: 724-387-4157Email: -Damián CastilloCAD AdministratorEngineering Project ManagerHensley Industries972-406-4788
Guess I have to make this 1st line different.... How's that ??
A coworker has a vague recollection of non-obvious differences between the location options (default vs. explicit coord sys) of data sharing features like ExtCopyGeom. That is, two ECG features will somehow behave differently if one uses default location while the other explicitly references the same coordinate systems.Anyone ever hear or run into such an issue? I haven't found anything. Just checking before embarking on a new project. Thanks,Wallace
Is it possible to update all of the symbols that are associated to afile quickly? Otherwise, is it possible to be prompted to update thesymbol when inserting it from a symbol palette? We want to be able to only maintain the symbol palette. Maybe you are talking about creating a "SET" of sequences to posttogether? To do this, goto:CL Data -- Output -- SELECT SET -- Create -- Pick the set of sequencesyou want to output togetherJust a stab at it. I don't know if its what you want, but maybe?!?David CooperTorgon Industries Inc.
Thanks to Pawan, I got my answer before my second email to the list even gotto my inbox: the auto group has to be ungrouped in order to perform areplace on the component.
I just realized that the component in question is auto grouped. Could thishave something to do with the problem? When I invoke the Replace command, the model tree that is brought up will not expand the group to allow me toselect the component itself.
I'm trying to come up with the equations for a variable pitch helix we'reusing for a closed end spring.I think I have everything I need but I'm having a hard time coming up withthe pitch for the middle coils. The end coils have a pitch of the wire dia then I have a transition fromthe closed ends that is variable pitched and about one wire dia long. ThenI have the center coils at a specific pitch. Problem is I'm not sure how Ineed to calculate the center coil pitch.Any ideas?__________Stanton Mapson, Product EngineerParker Hannifin Corp. - Quick Coupling Division252 N. 134th Street (68520)P.O. Mfg Gurus,Is there a way to post more than 1 ncl files in 1 output?.Im not sure I have put the question right, here it goes;1. I have 1 operation with lets say 5 nc seq, I need out of this; 2. And I want to change the angle(for some reason ex:+5 to -5degrees) and take the output. The problem is I want both the output in 1 posted file, right now I have2 nc files, is there a way ? Or im beeing silly? Thanks in advance,Sukhesh
Okay, with a combination of help from a couple of users and my own pokingaround, I finally got my relation to work. First, I had to go toEdit-->Setup-->Mass Properties-->Generate Report, and change the source to"File"Then, I used the Insert parameter in the relations dialog, and put in"pro_mp_mass" - the (") is no longer necessary at the end. Thanks, everyone!
Okay, I've received two replies already telling me how to have Pro/Ecalculate the mass properties before creating the relation. As I originallywrote below, I've done this several times!
Hi, All:For the first time ever, I need to create a curve of the intersection of twosurfaces, and naturally, I can't get it to work. The menu mapper says to useEdit-->Intersect, but when I select the two surfaces and pull down the Editmenu, Intersect is still grayed out. What am I missing?
Hi All Does anyone have a pro/e model of a 3 bladed airplane propeller thatthey would be willing to share?tiaTed
