Does anyone know of a way of exporting models to SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor that would include parametric features? Standard formats like .STEP create only a "dumb" model. There are some 3rd party tools that help (i.e. FeatureWorks), but are not reliable.

Hello everyone,We can save 3D models in a variety of formats, is there a "most universally accepted" or useful format out there if people just want to see the geometry/measurements and do not necessarily care about the model tree? I'm about to get a lot of quoting done for parts and want to minimize the back and forth as much as possible. Thanks in advance.

HiWe are currently starting user testing for a Wildfire 5 to Creo 2.0 parametric upgrade and i would like to provide the users with a summary of what's new so that they can get quickly up to speed.All i can find is just sales crap about why you should upgade to Creo and not any usefull user documentation to help you in the transition.Anyone have any idea where i might find such documentation??ThanksHugo

How does one move ribbon commands that reside in a flyout menu or "icon split"? I can't seem to move the "paste special" command. I know I could add it to the quick access bar but I simply want to show it on the main ribbon.

I'm having trouble creating a filllet at this corner. It is a solid model created from several merged surfaces. As you can see, the surfaces 1, 2, and 3 come to a point where I have a tangent condition between surfaces 2 and 3. Any good suggestions as to how this can be fixed?

I just started using Creo2 about a month ago and I'm having an issue with the no hidden view. For some reason, I am seeing the outlines of threaded holes in my no hidden view. The lines are purple. I have a couple of other parts that I have imported as an .igs file and they are acting similarly. Does anyone know what the problem might be. I don't want to see the outline of threaded holes in my no hidden view.Any help would be greatluy appreciated.August

hi guys,can anyone tell me if there is a way to get around this issue im having because its driving me nuts,ok so it should be simple. I’ve got a spacing of 120 with a 8mm gap between them, (these are constant)there are 2 triangles in the bottom and top, all i want to do is make an equals constraint that states that 29.3 and 27.2 are in actual act the same number, I don’t even care what that number is, Yes I know I can: * draw line perpendicular to the inclined line from one corner *draw a parallel line from the adjacent corner, *sketch a reference line find the centre point, *draw a perpendicular line and then *set up a symmetrical constraint Blah Blah Blah, Or i could go into relations *make some trig calcs*set up a relation that equals half of the hypotenuse and *define a centre line *and offset the bars from there. But that all takes way longer than something that should be so simple, and as we all know time is money. so anyone got an idea?

Does anyone know if there is an option to change the default setting for a clearance hole within Creo 2.0?Currently the default is a close fit, but a majority of the time we use a Free Fit. Is there a way to have the hole creation default to a Free Fit instead of the Close Fit?Any information would help.

I have a rather large model that fails regen when I put in a 0.25-20 bolt. If I change the relative accuracy Creo shuts down. Any ideas??Mike

Gute Tag,seit kurzem hab ich Creo Parametric 2.0 als Trial-Version. Eine Schulung für 1.0 hatte ich zwar, das ist aber schon etwas her und ich hab noch nicht so viel Routine.Daher meine Anfänger-Frage:Ich hab eine Baugruppe aus drei Bauteilen und möchte jetzt ein Gehäuse drum herum bauen, welches natürlich von der Baugruppe abhängig sein soll.Ich stell mir das so vor, dass ich direkt in der Baugruppe eine Skizze anfange, extrudiere und eine Schale draus mach. Wie geht das? Wonach muss ich suchen. Ein Stups in die richtige Richtung reicht mir schon.mfg. Bernhard

When you write a parameter in a text string, &parameter_name, is there a when to let the text know that the parameter is done other than a space? i.e. &parameter_name_COLOR where Parameter_name is the name of the parameter and _COLOR is attached to the end (without a space between them).Thanks, Dale
