Hi alls,I'm wondering if there is some books about learning Creo Elements. There seems to be no help files or tutorials from PTC anymore. We are currently using Wildfire 5 (and previous ProE for many year). We would like to learn what's new in creo.Nothing on Amazon, perhaps somewhere else ?Thanks,GB
Is emx 6.0 compatible with Creo 1.0?Tom
Anyone know if PTC will offerSketch as stand alone product?
Is there a method to edit a mapkey? I'm working on a rather long mapkey and if I miss-type a line, can I go back and change it? Tools...Mapkey...Modify seems to only let me start over from the beginning? Thanks
Dose anyone know How to swap or rearrange the PARAMETER Column on the 2D repeatregion? Appreciate, Peerapong
Anyone out there know about Proe compatibility, specifically creo, with CAMworks ?
Folks,Someone recently asked me if anybody has tried using iPads or other tablets to view mechanical CAD data.I do not think they were interested in being able to author new MCAD data on the iPad. They were thinking of some simple viewing, manipulation, and other similar tasks. Ease-of-use is key.Any thoughts? Thanks! Thanks.Frank H. Strieffler,Lockheed Martin
Hi all Does anyone know of a good materials database for selecting and controlling materials that links with Pro/Engineer ? Ian Turner CAD Manager Flight Refuelling Ltd

Hi all,Just curious....Layouts have been around since the beginning of Pro, promoted asa way to bridge the gap from 2D usersto the 3D users. Personally, I usedlayouts very early on in Pro...then as skels, Pubs and ECGsbecame more useful, better and easier, I abandoned their use.Now that most of us are familiar and comfortable with3D and more robust, graphical methods are available, do you still uselayouts extensively?
First select the model name of the object in the top of the modeltree. Now go the color palette an pick a color. As soon as you pick the color, the complete model changes to that color.Enjoy,Ronnie Shand
How do I find the default line thicknesses for plots?Pro/Help says that UOS, Pro/E uses the default pen mapping table file in<loadpoint>/text/table.pnt. There's an open SPR regarding this. Recommendation is to switch toswitch to Windows Classic theme.
Hello, can anyone tell me if it is possible to lock the position of dimensions relative to a sketch? I am creating a series of sketches which i am storing in the sketcher palette & i am noticing that despite my efforts to space out the dimensions in an orderly fashion, when i view the thumbnail in the sketcher palette, they are all over the place, sometimes on top of one another. The sketches are quite intricate, with tiny bits of geometry, & most look similar, so i rely on the dimensions as much as the geometry when selecting the appropiate sketch. Its most frustrating.RegardsJohn
WF5, M090 Playing with JPEG exports in WF5 with real-time rendering turned on. ILOVE that I can FINALLY save as a JPEG in perspective without having todo the menu dance because Pro/E would kick you out of perspective mode.I like that real time rendering is finally somewhat useful, out of thebox. What I don't like is that the saved JPEGs don't match what I see onscreen. The highlights change and the reflection and shadow getscropped oddly. And, if I save at a higher DPI (400-600), it's not evenrendered. (Typical PTC, frankly - fix it 80%-90% but still leave itcrippled enough that they shouldn't have bothered. But I digress.) Theproblem doesn't seem to exist in WF4. I've attached 3 JPEGs, one from the Windows7 snipping tool showing whatI saw onscreen, the other two from the Pro/E exports at 100 DPI and 400DPI. Anyone else find this and have a solution? I have a call into PTC, butI thought I'd ping the group here as well. Doug Schaefer
If I have a model open and decided to open "Mechanica Results" in a new window. I can't switch back to the model without closing the results window. Is there a way to keep the Mechanica Results window active/open and switch to another window that has a model so that I can do some work on it?Cluelss in Dallas."Too many people walk around like Clark Kent, because they don't realize they can Fly like Superman"
In the near future, we will be moving from Wildfire 4.0 to WF 5.0/Creo. Any words to the wise, or any thing that I need to watch for?
Consensus is that what I want to do is impossible (at least in WF3), becauseediting the Pro/PROGRAM is a manual process. I received a couple ofsuggestions for trying to trick it into working, but none of them pannedout. Bottom line is, every time I add something to the group, I've got to go intothe Pro/PROGRAM and edit it manually. Thanks to all who replied. SMARTUpdate allows to check and update parts, assemblies and drawings for conformity with the quality standards of your company especially if working in Pro/Intralink or Windchill. Define check rules and new values for parameters, features, layers, views and many more model properties in a user friendly dialog. Visualise check results in a separate dialog and define update actions.
