Just had a crash on creo 8 and trying to run the trail file for the first time, I found a youtube video to follow but when I click run it just doesn't do anything? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've renamed the file, can select it from the open menu, but then I click open and nothing happens.      

I'm trying to buy Mathcad for use in the classes I teach.  PTC seems to have handed off their online sales to a company called Digital River, but the web site also directs me to a sales rep who works for a company called EAC Product Development Solutions.  She offered to sell me a 1 year license for $295 when the online price is $56.   I don't understand what's going on.  Is this the same version?   I just got off the phone with the rep at EAC (who was professional and helpful, BTW) and she couldn't explain what PTC was doing, but is trying to get me an answer.  She did say that she gets lots of complaints about how hard it is to deal with PTC.  Ugh.   Can anyone in the community enlighten me?  It seems like PTC has decided to outsource their sales, but has sent it to two different companies who don't talk to each other and have different pricing.  Can this be right?  I have to be missing something.   Mark

We have an older perpetual version of Mathcad that we need to move from an old computer to a new one.  I cannot find anywhere in my account profile to change the MAC address so that the new computer will be recognized.  Does anyone know how to do that?

Here, the students and I saw an animation on the site Pendulum - Wikipedia showing the position of the velocity and acceleration vectors of the pendulum.We wanted to reproduce the acceleration animation in Mathcad - see the animation and the file in the attachment.But our animation is different from Wikipedia's animation -  we have a maximum acceleration, and there is a minimum. Where is the error - with us or in Wikipedia?

Hi all, sometimes I get a render image shift (displacement) on the 2D figure (see attchement). Any idea why? Until now I could allways move the render image back into its correct position and everything is fine. I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.3.0I am trying to post a boring sequence for a FADAL 3 axis VMC. I want the tool to bore the hole, stop at the bottom, back off the wall .100 then move up. From what it looks like in the posted program it doesn't seem to be doing this. I am setting the ORIENT_ANGLE to 0 and JOG_DIST to .100 in the parameters.

Hi,I'm working on Creo Parametric 8.0.4.0, it seems like you can't bring angular dimensions used in a sketch of a sketched hole created in a .prt.For exemple below, we have a simple sketched hole : Sketch used (with an angular dimension) : In the drawing, only the linear dimension appears. One exception, where the angular dimension pops up in .drw is for sketched hole type : "Simple" and profile "Flat". Is this a known problem ? Is there any solution ? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to check the flange thickness ratio, b/2t, with b=18 and t=0.75. Therefore b/2t=12. 18/(2*0.75)≤12 returns true, of course, but b/2t≤12 returns false. This does not happen with most other values of b and t. What's going on here and is there any way for me to fix it?

Expect to obtain the Creo Elements / Direct Modeling configurations of the subassemblies in the Preset Explode  of Creo View  Description:In the help you can read that "You can use the Preset Explode function only if the source data has top-level explode states defined".  This is the structure on Creo Elements / Direct Modeling.  The objects are stored in Windchill.The visualization of Sub-Assy1 is a monlith visualization  and the visualization of the Top-Level-Assembly /Tops-Assy is a strutcure visualization. Only the Modeling configruation  off the Top-Level-Assembly is available in Creo View in the Preset Explode   We also expect to obtain the modeling configurations of the subassemblies in the Preset Explode  of Creo View      

For instance, I've tried the merge function and that seems pretty close to the functionality I'm looking for in regard to sharing geometry between parts (Some limitations of course). In practice I'm looking to create a forging model/drawing, which needs to be referenced by a rough-out/inlay level drawing, which will be referenced by a final machining drawing. In Inventor for example you can very easily derive a component into a brand new file and the first feature you see in the browser of the new file is that referenced part. You can control whether to break the link (as if you wanted to use that geometry as just a template) or maintain the relationship as the design intent would be to have any changes propagate up the chain to all parts making the reference. At any rate, the merge is the first way I see possible to conduct this design intent and wanted to ask the forum in case there is a much better way in CREO. I am working on an assembly of a launching mechanism. Within this assembly I have created an assembly for the launch housing, an assembly for the locking mechanism and a parent assembly they both reside in with a series of parts and springs. In the parent assembly I have constrained the feature that is being pulled and locked into place with 2 constraint sets. "latched" and "unlatched" with the same series of constraints placed on the lock assembly. Within this parent assembly I have created a family table showing the instances of the assembly in both the "latched" and "unlatched" position, also within the lock assembly I have created a family table with similar instances in both the "latched" and "unlatched" position. The issue arises when I attempt to attach the locking assembly parameters within the parent assembly. Upon adding a table column and defining the addition using the parameter stipulation I select the locking assembly and it does not show a parameter to insert.

Following is a frequent use case for me:An assembly is opened in Creo View from Windchill. The assembly contains various annotation sets. Now the assembly is saved from Creo View to the local hard drive as a PVZ file. In this process, all annotation sets are lost. Is there any way to save the PVZ file locally including the existing annotation sets?

Hello ,    can we automation line Break option in Creo drawing so that we dont have to do it one by one and there are lot of such dimensions in drawing which are overlapping. If there is a mechanism which can detect overlapping dimensions and provide line beak can save lot of time in drawing

I have a ModelCHECK use case where some parameters may or may not exist.  I have discovered that if I only list the name of the parameter, then ModelCHECK will not report the parameter as "extra".  But if I add extra requirements to the parameter in the .mcs file then ModelCHECK considers the parameter as "required."   I would prefer to continue to check for "extra parameters" as defined in the conditions file. Can I define the con which is.   "If the parameter exists then it must be a string" In this case "the parameter may exist"PRT_PARAMETER NOTE In this case "the parameter is required and must be a string"PRT_PARAMETER NOTE STR   

I am trying to export an exploded view out of Creo Parametric 7.0 into Creo View format but for whatever reason it will not create the exploded state. I have tried doing the export from Creo Parametric when the model is in both the exploded and unexploded states and I have tried opening the model with both Creo View Lite 4.1 and Creo View Standard (I believe it was 4.0). No matter what I try the model I see in Creo View is always the unexploded state and the "Preset Explode" button is greyed out. Does anyone know what the issue might be and why I can't get the export to work?

We have new designer onboard soon. IT is planning to buy DELL precision 5570, with video card NVIDIA® RTX™ A2000, 8 GB GDDR6. This computer and video card are not listed in the PTC hardware list for Creo 5.0.  Is this computer will be good for Creo 5.0? What driver version need to be for Creo 5?

Hello, is there a way to specifically search for elements without children and list them all up? This would really help with cleaning up the part. It would probably be best to delete unused elements right away, but in reality that's not going to work all the time. Regards, Patrick
