Creo+ and Creo Parametric

We use the PRO_MP_MASS parameter for our weight calculation and as a value on our drawing.To ensure everybody is executing the mass calculation the setting mass_property_calculate is set to report_outdateness_only (or check_upon_save). A warning For normal assemblies these settings are ok.But in assemblies where we use flexible component (e.g. a spring or a folded flexfoil) the mass properties of the assemblies keep outdated every time the assembly is opened. Even a bottom up mass calculation of all parts and finally the assembly will not help. Because after closing and re-open the assembly,  the assembly shows "outdated mass properties".How to solve, or block this?

I have similar question to this, but different.   Lets say my assembly has the following structure: MAIN ASSEMBLY --SUBASEEMBLY1    --PART1 (inside SUBASSEMBLY1)    --PART2 (inside SUBASSEMBLY1) --SUBASEEMBLY2    --PART3 (inside SUBASSEMBLY2)    --PART4 (inside SUBASSEMBLY2)   I want a note to say the name of highest level model tree element, not the lowest level. The method described in this topic results in lowest level item appearing in the note: if i point it to PART1 then the note says pn of PART1   I want to show the PN of the highest level model tree item PN to where the pointer is attached. So my goal is to attach the note to PART1 or PART2 and have the note saying the PN of SUBASSEMBLY1   I am using expression: &PTC_WM_NUMBER:att_mdl I am on Creo 9   Is this possible? If not directly, then any are there any workarounds how to achieve this? Thank you!

I need to create a mapkey to create the name of 2D drawing based on the 3D part but adding some extra strings on it for example,If the 3D part name is V132000430010, then when I call the mapkey it will create a 2D drawing named DV1320004300100-000 that means I need to add D< Genereted name >0-000.  CREO Version: 8.0.8.0

Hello, I have some performance issues with Creo working with Windchill:When I open an assembly 3D model with Windchill, sometimes it takes a very long time (about 15 minutes), but other times it is quite fast.So, I checked the trail file to find out what happened when Creo opened slowly.The trail file shows:（the codes are changed verytime）After Creo loads "jc120301000a98," it tries to load some items from my local disk, taking 15 minutes.My questions are: What are these local items?Why does Creo try to load them from my local file system (the directory is where my "config.pro" is located)?Why does it sometimes take a long time and other times load very fast? Is there a method to avoid the long loading times?When I try to open this assembly 3D model in a local folder, Creo also tries to load these items.And here is the structure tree:  

The result for the steady-state temperature (modeling it numerous different ways) is consistently T=364 K. But the result according to Power=s*e*A*T^4 should be T=314.63 K when I use:A=Area=1m^2 (modeled as a solid or as a surface sphere using shell elements)e=emissivity=1.0Power=power generated within Sphere= 1000W The assumption is this is a sphere in space that does NOT have any solar flux adding heat to it.Why is the answer so different from theoretical? Have something weird going on, only applies to a certain assembly.Its linked to the group i think.Any of the sub assembly items within that group, i cant change its view status (Ctrl +h / Hide button)I can hide the group as a whole, just not the individual items inside that group. When i try to do that the "hide/view" icon changes (the strike through on the eye appears/disappears) but the actual items are still visible.i can also hide parts inside those sub assemblies individually.I can also use other groups inside this assembly as normal, only on the one group.I cant see anything different within layer tree either. Creo Parametric 10-0-1-0    

HiUsing Creo Parametric 10.0.1.0Wanting to know if theres a way to rename dimensions and show them in the sketch view.So far have tried 2 methods, which do not show in the sketch view itself.the first being the "dimesion text" that also shows in a drawing, the second being the dimension name (then toggling the "switch dimensions under model or tools tabs) As an example, this dimension "160 wide" is also labelled as wide, inside sketcher it shows as only 160 or "sd4" (the original name before renamed)  

Hi All,   Has anyone had any success with the Modecheck DRW_TABLE_CELLS?   I have an issue where I need to use tables in my default format so that parameters in there will update correctly in the drawing, But this leaves them open to "tinkering" by the end user.    I'm trying to use this check to identify the metadata table then verify some of the key cell values in there have not been overwritten (i.e.  &PTC_WM_LIFECYCLE_STATE hasn't been replaced with "RELEASED", OR THE :d AND :mdl getting mixed up has been an issue)   So far I've been able to get errors on every table that does not conform to the conditions, rather than the 1st value being an identifier,   Thanks in advance for any thoughts or past experience shared 🙂   Dave.

I recently downloaded a conveyor belt from the “Traceparts” website and constructed a frame for it. My problem is that I need the conveyor belt 3 times, just in different lengths. We only have 1 license for Simulation Live. It only gets used sporadically among various users. Most people need access to it. When creo starts the license is not pulled but if anyone clicks on the Live Simulation tab, usually accidently, the license gets pulled and prevents others from being able to use it.  I dont necessarily want to remove the tab from everyone's ribbon and have them load it manually when needed but that seems like my only option to prevent the license to be inadvertently used. Are there any other options out there? Seems like a pretty annoying flaw in the license design. 

Hi,I have a model that I am working on and need to replace an instance with a different instance of the same part. When I go to my model tree and navigate to the instance, right click, and I don't see the "replace" option here. When I want to modify a distance, I double-click on the value, and a fraction of a second later it reverts to the original value. Version Creo 9 Good Morning. I received this as a step file which opens as a assembly. I am making one of the horizontal pieces about 17" longer. Because it is an assembly with no constraints already built in, I have to move and constrain all pieces next to the 17" lengthened pipe. Is there a way to just save this as a multibody part and make the change so that everything moves together?I have tried file and save as to see if I could just output it as a part but that doesn't seem like an option. I am used to Solidworks where everything is easier. Thanks in advance 

I am designing a piece and the shaft of it needs a 1.5 degree angle on in while keeping one side straight and I've done what I know but I was wondering if there was a different way I could actually use the angle instead of what I've got in the pictures. Or if there's any easier way to do this I would appreciate any help I can get thanks. I am on Creo Version 9.0.1.0

I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.5.0When I start a mold analysis (mold flow), Creo merges my default template solid part with the part I'm analyzing. My default template has solid geometry in it so I get a merge between the part I want to analyze and my default template part. Even if I delete the template part, the analysis still includes it. It is using the file set by the config.pro option: template_solidpart. I was wondering if anyone here has a powershell script that I can use to deploy CREO 9 through Configuration Manager. I can create a custom script to install but I would like to know what is needed to add the license and everything fully automated, perhaps an XML file that instructs the software.

We are migrating to creo 8 and noticed when the Model tree is separated in a different window, the left window is not showing the layer tree by default as it shows the FOLDER BROWSER instead (IMO, useless at this point). How do i get Creo to show the Layer tree everytime i open new windows?   I can not seem to find the answer to my Q in the help or support pages.   Creo 5 shows the Layer display on the left and Model tree floating on the right. each time I open a new window.  Since I work in the routed systems stuff, all I ever do is switch between parts and assemblies all day long.  I dont care for having to turn the Layer tree on every time (2 extra clicks everytime I open a window)

I recently get into the world of CAM, and in my factory we acquired a 4 axis milling machine an double column machine, But i'm not really good designing post processor and i'm wondering if you have something similar with 4 axis and vertical Z Axis, Thank you.

I just went through the nightmare of discovering that I was calling for 2 thousand second dwells on countersink cycles.  I thought the machine had quit, but that wasn't it.  My controller expects P periods in seconds not milliseconds.  I fussed my around G_post, found and fixed the variable and checked that it now works.  My question is what to do with Creo residual installations from 7 to 10, each one containing gpost option files for my machines, some of which have been modified over the years.When I upgraded to 10, I copied the gpost files from Creo 9 into the same folder that they would have been in 10 and it looks very much like that is what Creo Manufacturing has been reading when I call for a work-center I have on file. I fixed the uncx01.p33 (the one in the Creo10 system files) which is the option file for my mill and I now get the 2 second dwells I was looking for I suppose I can move all of the older trees to another drive and Creo won't be able
