Creo+ and Creo Parametric

We only have 1 license for Simulation Live. It only gets used sporadically among various users. Most people need access to it. When creo starts the license is not pulled but if anyone clicks on the Live Simulation tab, usually accidently, the license gets pulled and prevents others from being able to use it.  I dont necessarily want to remove the tab from everyone's ribbon and have them load it manually when needed but that seems like my only option to prevent the license to be inadvertently used. Are there any other options out there? Seems like a pretty annoying flaw in the license design. 

Hi,I have a model that I am working on and need to replace an instance with a different instance of the same part. When I go to my model tree and navigate to the instance, right click, and I don't see the "replace" option here. First time I've seen this issue, any tips?  Some more information - Using Creo 8 with Windchill 12 Thanks

hello everyone, I am encountering a problem in Creo Parametric, during the creation of a sketch or an extrude. When I want to modify a distance, I double-click on the value, and a fraction of a second later it reverts to the original value. If you have already encountered this problem, I would appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

Version Creo 9 Good Morning. I received this as a step file which opens as a assembly. I am making one of the horizontal pieces about 17" longer. Because it is an assembly with no constraints already built in, I have to move and constrain all pieces next to the 17" lengthened pipe. Is there a way to just save this as a multibody part and make the change so that everything moves together?I have tried file and save as to see if I could just output it as a part but that doesn't seem like an option. I am used to Solidworks where everything is easier. Thanks in advance 

I am designing a piece and the shaft of it needs a 1.5 degree angle on in while keeping one side straight and I've done what I know but I was wondering if there was a different way I could actually use the angle instead of what I've got in the pictures. Or if there's any easier way to do this I would appreciate any help I can get thanks. I am on Creo Version 9.0.1.0

Are there any experts in the CREO NC processing programming function???No matter how I look at it, I don't know the difference between WORKPIECE and MILL VOLUME, can anyone tell me???  

I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.5.0When I start a mold analysis (mold flow), Creo merges my default template solid part with the part I'm analyzing. My default template has solid geometry in it so I get a merge between the part I want to analyze and my default template part. Even if I delete the template part, the analysis still includes it. It is using the file set by the config.pro option: template_solidpart. Creo 6 did not exhibit this behavior.Here are the errors that I facedThis shows up in the message window when I click on the "analysis" optionUsing the template default \\prod\root\Other_Drives\CAD-Ilox\Intralox_Molds\standard_components\startup_models\startup_mold_part.PRT as the template.

I was wondering if anyone here has a powershell script that I can use to deploy CREO 9 through Configuration Manager. I can create a custom script to install but I would like to know what is needed to add the license and everything fully automated, perhaps an XML file that instructs the software.

Hello everyone,there is one function, in relation, wich returns a parameter  representing the number of components in an assembly. It would be the equivalent of the &rpt.qty parameter present in the tablereport or the %$quantity parameter present in the BOM configuration file.Many thanks for your time, greetings Luca.  

We are migrating to creo 8 and noticed when the Model tree is separated in a different window, the left window is not showing the layer tree by default as it shows the FOLDER BROWSER instead (IMO, useless at this point). How do i get Creo to show the Layer tree everytime i open new windows?   I can not seem to find the answer to my Q in the help or support pages.   Creo 5 shows the Layer display on the left and Model tree floating on the right. each time I open a new window.  Since I work in the routed systems stuff, all I ever do is switch between parts and assemblies all day long.  I dont care for having to turn the Layer tree on every time (2 extra clicks everytime I open a window)

I recently get into the world of CAM, and in my factory we acquired a 4 axis milling machine an double column machine, But i'm not really good designing post processor and i'm wondering if you have something similar with 4 axis and vertical Z Axis, Thank you.

I just went through the nightmare of discovering that I was calling for 2 thousand second dwells on countersink cycles.  I thought the machine had quit, but that wasn't it.  My controller expects P periods in seconds not milliseconds.  I fussed my around G_post, found and fixed the variable and checked that it now works.  My question is what to do with Creo residual installations from 7 to 10, each one containing gpost option files for my machines, some of which have been modified over the years.When I upgraded to 10, I copied the gpost files from Creo 9 into the same folder that they would have been in 10 and it looks very much like that is what Creo Manufacturing has been reading when I call for a work-center I have on file. I fixed the uncx01.p33 (the one in the Creo10 system files) which is the option file for my mill and I now get the 2 second dwells I was looking for I suppose I can move all of the older trees to another drive and Creo won't be able

We regularly download vendor STEP and IGES files for use in our designs.  Some of these downloads are assemblies that we bring into Creo as a single part.  The vendor lists the weight and the CG location of the assembly on their spec sheet.  We know how to make the imported part 'weigh' what it needs to weigh based on the part volume.  How do we go about defining the CG of the CAD model so it represents the reality of the vendor model? Creo 8.0.0.0 Thanks

I am developing a custom IFX fastener library. I want to build some fasteners in plastic material. I can easily change the parameter "MATERIAL" so that the string parameter would have any value, but I can't find a way how to actually set the model material in generated instances, so that the weight would be correct. So far i've tried:- assigning material in the source file that the instances get generated from- doing the previous but also adding a line to .dat file "MATERIAL NYLON66" (note that this material is currently assigned in the source part *.prt file, i haven't just used random name) However, the generated instances still get material "10_9" and density of steel. How could I set the plastic material in generated instances? @OliverGräbner  - you have been helping me on another thread with IFX, but since this is quite different topic I thoght it would make more sense to start a new thread. Thank you!

I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.4.0In Creo 7.0 I was able to list the PTC_REPORTED_MATERIAL parameter as column inside the model tree.In Creo 10.0 the PTC_REPORTD_MATERIAL is not shown anymore. Instead there is always List (in German Liste) displayed. Is there a way to display the active material of the model inside the model tree again?Here are the errors that I facedno error or warnin - the parameter PTC_REPORTED_MATERIAL is not displayed as expected.

I am moving my files from one computer to the other.  I copied the files from a computer using Creo Parametric 10 to a computer using Creo Parametric 9.  I am unable to open any of the files, even though the association with Creo seems to be valid.  The files show up as .prt or .asm, as they should and they have the proper icon.  But I can open any of them, even simple beam element .prt files.   So I'm assuming that there's a reason copied files don't work this way.  Is there something different in the setups between the two machines that I should take a look at? p.s. I'm assuming this question belongs in System Administration, but I'm not sure.

I have successfully used a specifically sized flat Equation curve in my die designs.  I have on a number of occasions however needed to use the same radius and spacing around a rotation which to this point have been very fudgy.Below is the equation that I have been using.This results in a curve like the following.Would it be possible to make an equation curve to the below shape?   The spacing would be the same as with the top example but I would somehow need to be able to define a center or slope.  Can this be done?

Hello all i do have some Problems questions in understanding Sensitivity Analyses and Cordinate Systems What i have is the Default CYS and an Offset CYS that i create i control its Origin with Paramets as followsX=200Y=200Z=-200 the relations i use look like this :$d3=X$d4=Y$d5=Z when i now start and run an sensitivity Analyses for Parameter Z with a minimum Range of -220 and maximum of -180 it runs though. but when i recheck my Parameter for Z it has changed from-200 to +200 and the Coordinate has flipped its Position.  is it possible to avoid flipping Parameters or Dimensions i don't want the minus to disappear? can someone relate and help out?Kind RegardsMarkus
