Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello, While saving the assembly I generally receive this error "Object has failed feature", which does not allow me to save the assembly unless I suppress the part. When I check in the part I see no error.   What could be the main issue and how to resolve it?      

In my job I have to draw some pieces that are similar to others. GD&T is very important so we use as reference a similar part to take those tolerances into account and to know what to annotate and what not to. Is there a way to make an automatic drawing or a drawing of a part using the similar part as reference, automatically? Even though I have to adjust some details it will save me a bunch of time.

command in windows :dir /b /s /a:d > folders.txt This command will output a text file with all the recursive folders found in the current path where the command runs. it will create a file with all the sub directories recursively found in the starting path, and will write this out to folders.txt. This can be used and renamed to search paths file. It will save you a lot of time for having to create this file manually.  

I had to format a computer, logos after configuring CREO this option that follows print is no longer enabled, before formatting the machine was normal, and same license and everything.

For my school we are using Creo Parametric 6.0.2.0 student. I have done quite a few designs but have ran into a small problem.All the computers I am working with have the same version.I have saves as a .prt each time I do a few changes, and each file has like 14 saves.There are 8 different files in their own folders which are in one folder together.The problem is that out of the 8 different ones, 2 will load back into Creo 6 OK. The others just crash the program back to the desktop and saves a traceback log.I have tried on different computers including laptops and they are all doing the same.Other files are ok to use, it seems to be just these ones.I've even tried to load the first one of the same model with 14 saves and that does the same.Done a disk check - no errors. Checked a backup of each one on a removable hard drive and they do the same.Home computer is I5 8th gen, 1050 Nvidia card, plenty of ram and SSD space running windows 10. It seems weird that other files are OK

Hi,I am currently trying to do a simple contact mechanism simulation which is applied on a bouncing ball. I'm using a 3D contact to model the contact between ball and ground. However, I remark that there isn't any options to add restitution coefficient. Can you please tell me where can I add my restitution coefficient in order to make sure the ball bounces back upwards when it touches the ground. Another question, I found it's weird that the normal force of contact isn't coherent to the position of ball when it's in contact with ground (please view the graphs below). Normally the normal force should achieve a peak when the ball is in contact with the ground, but as you can see in 2nd pic, I only have a constant even at the contact time. Can you please enlighten me where did I do wrongly? P/S: the results below is achieved using 2D contact (cams), not 3D contact as mentionned above. 

Hi,I'm defining a generic modular drw symbol.I have defined some of its lines and values ​​in groups to give me the opportunity to select as needed whether to display them or not.My problem is that, by inserting the symbol in the DRW, these elements are hidden/disabled by default.How can I set them to be visible by default?Thank you.P.S. Having inherited a model, I have discovered a failed annotation which I am struggling to resolve.  Creo flags a GTOL (gp9), as failed (for unknown reasons). This failed annotation doesn't show up in the annotation list, nor any of the sub-component annotation lists. From the notification centre, I can right click - Edit Annotation or Locate In Model Tree. Neither of these functions seem to do anything. The edit opens up the Geometric Tolerance feature but I cannot make any changes. Locate in Model Tree also doesn't show where it is located in the model tree. Where is this hiding and how do I show it/remove it? Pre-edit: while filling this out, I have discovered that 'Locate In Model Tree - Delete' deletes it and resolves my issue, however doesn't answer the question of where it was being hidden. Does anyone have any idea how one would locate a GTOL that has been hidden from the tree? Running on Version 8.0.4.0    

Hello, I am trying to create a mapkey that allows me to export a drawing as a PDF with the filename from a parameter I created. The parameter I created contains the part number and revision of the drawing being exported. However, when I copy the 'FILENAME' parameter, the mapkey appears to only copy the 'FILENAME' parameter from the original session. Is there any good way to copy a parameter from the active part while recording a mapkey? Thank you!Jeff H.

CREO Parametric 8.0.5 with  NC Complete. I am working on setup up work center for Okuma mill-turn. Okuma uses common variables instead of work offsets. Has anyone setup a work center like this before or have some useful reference materials/videos for this?  

Hi, after reading those 2 topics :Solved: Switch Simplified Rep without redoing BOM Balloons... - PTC CommunityRedefine a master rep general view and convert it ... - PTC Community. I tried it in Creo 8.0.4.0 and saw that the "Default Rep" was not available in my drawings (example pics 1 / 2) whereas any other representation that I created were accessible. Picture 1 : View manager from my ASM file "A_SUPPV4854.asm" Picture 2 : From my DRW file "A_SUPPV4854.drw"  Is there any other way of selecting it without redoing BOM Balloons ? Thank you.

I am using Creo6 - version: 6.0.6.0swept wire bundle using trajpar does not show hidden lines correctly in drawing view.I've tried changing display settings, part accuracy settings; nothing seems to fix the issue; any ideas ?    thanksRich

Hi, I have figured out how to borrow a license and to set it in my system valiable. I have a few questions: 1. How do I return a license before its due date? 2. If I do not return the license before it's due date and check out a licence for more time, for example.....will the first one I borrowed still remain borrowed for the time left? I guess what I'm saying is.....do I have to return the license back before borrowing another? I don't want to monopolize the licenses. Thanks, Wayne

I can hardly work a full day without bumping into one bug or another. I am forever trying to find workarounds to accomplish things. Today's big disappointment (embarrassment): On a Slack Huddle with a customer, we made some model changes on the fly. Then, they asked how that affects assembly weight. Simple enough question, right? No. How embarrassing I had to say, "No this high-end CAD system can't properly calculate mass." See Case 17244081. On some parts, Creo can't remember the assigned density, so my 58-ish lb assembly shows as 604800 lbs. I have to delete and reassign the material of certain parts frequently. I don't suppose all the advertising in the world will convince my customer to buy Creo now. I had Creo 8.0 installed on my machine, and I needed to install Creo 10, but my Flexnet wasn't compatible, so I had to remove everything and install Creo 10 again, but now it doesn't want to install Flexnet again, is there any way to do this?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM070When I opened the 3D model, particularly complex in shape, it ended up resembling radiation or an explosion, making it unusable. What could be the cause of this issue? Could it be due to insufficient specs on my computer? Please help.

Why do some of the annotation planes orient plane, appear red ?CREO Parametric 7.0100 

I use the Compare Part, by Geometry quite often when making modeling changes.  Mostly with complex die cast models to verify that after I make a change, nothing accidentally changes.  When I un-click the “Show only changed areas” box in the popup window, select my spacing and tolerance, after it runs thru it, when I try to rotate, pan, zoom model, it moves very slowly and jerky, pretty much unusable.  If I check the “Show only changed areas” box then it will rotate, pan & zoom faster.  Problem is on our cast and machined castings, we designate blue surfaces as “to be machined” surface on cast models and red surfaces are “machined” surfaces in our machined models.  So when I do a compare and check the Show only changed areas, I have to be careful since we use the blue and red surfaces in our models. Is there anyway to keep the Show only changed areas box unchecked and speed up the pan, zoom, rotate the model after the results post?  If not, is ther

I am attempting to export a 1:1 scale view with no format to DXF for Router/laser cutting.  All exported through API Toolkit callls traversing assemblies.  Thats all working great.  I am using a dxf_export.pro file to map layers.  Which is all  working fine.    Some layers determine tooling options such as etching or determines that a punch tool is required.   The NC software is configured to handle the mapped enumerated layering.    Here is what the mapping file looks like.map_layer 7_ALL_COSMETICS 99map_layer 3_ALL_CURVES 99map_layer 5_ALL_CURVES 99map_layer 2_ALL_CSYS 99map_layer 8_ALL_ROUNDS 0map_layer 9_ALL_HOLES 0map_layer 3_ALL_AXES 0! the above layers are my Default layers set up in Creo Config.pro  years ago, in our Por_foundation rollout. ! the following layers are standard layers we defined for engineers to use to control map_layer COSM_PUNCH 6map_layer CURVE_PUNCH 6map_layer COSM_ETCH 4map_layer COSM

Hi all, A supplier has sent us a step of an assembly file that we will be using.I want to import it as a single part but when i do the assembly model looks like it loses its' constraints and 'falls to bits'. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi, I have a very simple question. How do I see the status of licenses on my network at work? I tried ptcstatus.bat and don't really see what I am looking for. I would like to see all the creo parametric licenses in particular and if used or borrowed. Thanks, WayneF  

I am having no luck in applying servomotors to mechanisms. I have done it in the past but either I Am missing some step or creo is not functioning. Using manufacturer supplied assemblies was my first thought for source of failures. so I manually redefined the piston to the cylinder. no luck. Then I made a super rudimentary piston/cylinder assy. nope. I can drag the piston and the limits work as intended in the model. However, in mechanism, I can only get a partial move then it fails with errors.  error msg with 2 servos:  All position constraints can't be simultaneously satisfied. The following position constraints can't be satisfied:1) Servo motor constraint for servo motor Motor 1 in model 62205K194_NO_THREADS_HYDRAULIC_ can't be satisfied.  2) Servo motor constraint for servo motor Motor 2 in model 62205K194_NO_THREADS_HYDRAULIC_ can't be satisfied.    or with a single servo:All position constraints can't be simultaneously satisfied.

Hi all.  Version 9.0.4.0 Alot of our assemblies use thread-rolling or thread-cutting screws into sheetmetal so by design the hole size is smaller than the OD of the screw.  I do understand why this is rendering this way but I was wondering if anyone had a good workaround?  I've had people use extrude cuts in the assembly to enlarge the holes but those do add a step to their work and also seem to slow down the processing some.  Anyone know a better way?  Maybe a way to have a screw drawn and measurable to it's correct OD but render slightly smaller?Thanks in advance!Brad 

Hi all, I have been searching the forum, and could not find the same issue, similar, but not same. This is a straight forward part that I am trying to get flat, any ideas how to do it? I used a blend to make it, if there is a different way to make it please point me in that direction? I did try flatten quilt, but the measurements are off for sure.  any help would be greatly apprecaited!   thanks 

I'm installing Creo 10 when I put in the license it accepts it, when I open Creo it gives a license error
