Creo+ and Creo Parametric

How does everyone go about attaching geometric feature control frames to surfaces via an existing witness line (I'm on Creo 6 btw)? There are some quirks when attempting to make this happen, you have to make the leader on the FCF go "tangent" so it hides along the existing witness line. Then, one must hide the arrow. If the FCF was attached to an existing size dimension, the FCF leader can be moved such that there is a gap between the FCF leader and the part object lines. (see attached images). You can alter the position of the FCF to left or right of the witness line by holding the shift key while dragging it left or right. (I suppose it's best not to question the reasoning behind such an unintuitive/obscure methodology for this). If you attach the FCF directly to the surface, you cannot get a gap between the FCF leader and the part object lines. I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.5.0We have made bends tables for spec driven piping in .csv format that match the examples shown. The only difference is we have a range for min and max radius where as your examples show the same size for radius, min, and max. The issue is that we can't change the bend radius for piping. when you go under modify>corner segment and select the corner you want to change the bend radius pick list is greyed out even though we have a range of radii to choose from.

Hello, today I've been trying to start contact simulation of some sort of an assembly. (sorry can't do any screenshots or give a model)I've started slowly and made my way as smooth as possible to make sure results are valid. 1. geometry was prepeared acording to drawing documentation2. adding simulation features3. doing small sub assemblies to check if everything is connected4. finally adding time dependent force to act on assymbly  and boom nothing is working. Spending 8more hours to find the error. Nothing has been found everythin has been checked.  and than after 12 hours of search and tests i'm turning  back Time dependence from my table defined function back to ramp(predefined function) and somehow it starts to work without any problem.  Has anyone of you met this problem??? Using Creo 9.0.1.0I have a drawing program watching the state in Windchill (InWork, Under Review, Released, etc) as the state changes the drawing program updates a parameter with a message displayed on the border of the title block (“InWork - not for production use”)I need to update that program to include a new state with a new message. Right now the drawing program is unique to each drawing file. Is there a setting to reference a file that can be updated in a single location? Or any way to make a bulk update using a script Creo|SON or anything other than opening each file every time a program update is needed?

In my creo's manage file window lock file or unlock file option is not available. is there any configuration setting needs to be changed for that??

Hi, I have a question about splitting a surface in Creo 7.The face in question looks like this. I would like to split this surface where the line is. See picture.This due to me wanting to draft the faces opposite direction, one CW and one CCW of the hinge above. I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode 9.0.1.0I need to upload a transparent image into a Creo format file (.frm). I can upload images into the format files but Creo always gives them a white background. I have tried to insert transparent images of many different file types and none have retained their transparent background once uploaded into Creo format.

Creo10 bug, export DWG with stroke all charactors, then open it with AutoCAD. there are two small points in the front and back of dimension. and the dimension txt height is 0.0001, width factor is 0.1, there are not this issue with creo9, 8, 6, 5.I have try all the export setting, but it make no sens, anyone can help?  

I recently installed Creo 10 to work with an existing parts and assembly database created using Creo 6. On creating drawings from these files, when I attempt to edit parametric dims and/or hatch patterns I get the above message.The parent part and assembly files are stored on a local drive of a Creo PC licensed using Floating Licensing. The file permissions on Windows dont appear to be an issue - I can edit and save the part and assembly files in Creo. Using the Read Only functionality in the Part and Assembly modelling environment shows the features in the parts to all be unlocked.I'm stumped. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?Tony Owens

Whilst working with GD&T advisor I discovered that it will not tolerance point patterns, anyone else have this issue?   (new query)         it also does not recognize reference pattern and sometimes crashes in this pursuit 

Is there a way to export mold flow analysis results, like fiber orientation and residual stresses, for use in later structural analysis? If not, then what is the purpose of the Creo mold extension?Ideal output would be .nwd, .nod, or some kind of ASCII.

I am intended to use lock feature option for an assembly. I think i have to open all child parts and sub assemblies then lock features individually. Is there any ways to lock all the child part features and sub assemblies from main assembly in a single shot or is there any other ways to do this???

I am running Creo 6 on Dell Precision 5680 (i7-13850HX, NVIDIA RTX A1000 6GB, 32GB Ram).When I am trying to open a STEP (500 MB) assy, Creo crushes with an error: "An application has requested more GPU memory than is available in the system. That application will now be closed".All the settings for Nvidia card are applied. Tried renaming .wf folder based on one of solutions I found on PTC website, Did not work for me.Tried other workstation, no problem. Something to do with a Open GL driver?Anybody had the same problem and found the solution? Any suggestions how to fix it?Thanks 

Has anyone had Creo 10.0.0.0 or 10.0.1.0 Randomly exit on save from menu or hotkey with Windchill? Seems to only happen with assemblies.    

Symbols from the symbol library are positioned in the 3D annotations on e.g. a combination state "Flat". This is important in order to have all information in the model (MBD).If these symbols are "displayed" in a 2D drawing, the symbols are always created in the annotations in the new_view_1 (drawing tree).If the position of the view: new_view_1 is changed in the drawing, all symbols are also moved on the drawing. This is not desired!If there is no view in the drawing, the symbols created in 3D cannot be displayed.If you add the symbols in the 2D drawing (detail), they are created in annotations below the views. The positions of the symbols do not change when a view is moved.Why is this not possible for symbols that are integrated in the flat layer in MBD?

We are on CREO 8.0.  I have a part with datum targets, very similar to the connecting rod in ASME Y14.5.   I would like to show the "merged" (think, merged BOM balloons) datum targets like the attached picture for A1 and A2.  The only work around I could come up with is to create the two bottom view datum targets A1 and A2, and then turn off the point and leader line display of target A2.  Then I can "fake: the position of A2 to look like the two merged A1 and A2's in the attached picture.  THE downside is that they are NOT connected to each other and moving A1, does NOT take A2 with it.  IS there a better way?thanks in advance...
