I have an assembly that I've created a section view of, and I'd like to export a file (preferably something like a CSV) that contains a list of the XYZ coordinates of the section. Ideally, I'm trying to just get the coordinates of the section plane's intersection with the top surface of the model, as if I was tracing a laser measurement tool along a line over the top surface. How would I accomplish this? I'm using Creo 4.0.
How to block loan for 2 days for Creo Parametric? My client wants to decrease the number of loan days instead of increasing it. Reconfigure crashing when trying to start. Getting a WER-Dump (pim_re.exe) which i cannot access. Using Creo Parametric Version 9.0.0.0. WER-Dump is included. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Has anyone tried to retrieve a new license file this week? We purchased some additional licenses and I added them to our server yesterday but I have not received the new license files. Usually I get a new license file in about an hour. I also requested a detailed license report about 4 hours ago and it has also not shown up in my mailbox. I did get an email about a case I opened, so ptc.com is not a blocked domain.
Hello!I have a problem in the drawing. The base part's crosshatchinghanging in space inside my fasteners. The holes are made in the assembly
Hi Creo colleagues We use Creo 8.0.4.0, and I try to perform the views primarily in 3D as Combination States before I apply them in 2D drafting, This problem is somethin I face only for the 3D visualization. For cross-section view I face the problem that an annotation derived from the feature dimension becomes invisible because I cut-off the attachment point of the dimension. See pictures: picture 1 with invisible dimension 15:picture 2 with highlighted dimension 15, selected in the Detail Tree:I the selected dimension is released it becomes invisible again. The dimension becomes invisible because the attachment points of the dimension is cut-off by the cross-section. (Experience from several similar situations) If I switch the section direction the dimension 15 becomes visible. BUT, I cannot switch all the times views. Or let's say "I don't like to switch" views which are more complicated as the shown one. This would lead to undesi
Hello,As the topic, How to select multiple options from one module model? This problem we meet in this kind of situation: A customer wants buy two options in one proect(one for spare compents); And this image show the problme : Creo knows I want select these two options, there is an alert incon(I dont know how to get the waring text):And after I click "Create Product Variant" , the reslut is not a normal assembly 3D model, but is a new configurable product like this:Would anybody knows: where the mistake I made, and how to correct it that make Creo generate a normal assembly model with two options.Thank you!
I have seen this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hky98wUL-jo&list=PLRhPac0z_f-FIsmKbE1fR1ZlEMXBZcZvN from David Martin on worst drawing practices. There, he says that most dimensions should come from the model. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxKmlE8afhs on worst modeling strategies, he says that you should not create your model in a way that represents manufacturing. But, when I make a drawing, it is mostly for manufacturing. And if I did not build my model in respect to manufacturing, then I can not take the dimensions etc. over from the model. I also have made the experience that when I make a new model, it is built up in a way that is different to how it is manufactured. For example, the lathe operator maybe needs diameters and everything dimensioned to one edge of the part. But, when I modeled the part in Creo, I maybe dimensioned a revolve in reference to another revolve. So they do not reference the same edge. Does somebody maybe know how to deal with thi
I created a project using the creo framework module and now I need to create the optimization of cuts for rectangular tube profiles, for example:I buy a 6m bar and I need to know the best way to use the pieces of everything to cut this bar Is there any way for me to create this with PTC technologies ?
The Archimedes screw is a water pump that allows water to be raised from a lower to higher elevation. It consists of a central shaft with a helical surface, which itself sits within a cylindrical channel. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is as follows: Design an assembly for the Archimedes screw capable of lifting water a vertical height of 1.5 meters. The assembly should contain at least one mechanism connection. Your Archimedes screw does not have to resemble those in any of the images here. It can be either hand-operated or motor-driven. (The motor can be represented by a simple box part model.) Create a rendered image of your model. (Optional) Create a Kinematic Analysis using the Mechanism Design Extension (MDX) and output a movie of the playback. Note that every license of Creo Parametric comes with MDX. (Optional) Create a rendered animation of the motion using the Design Animation Option (DAO). Every license of Creo Parametric comes with DAO. In your su
Flexible offset is changing the chamfer dimension from 0.50 to 0.30 with 0.00 offset. this should not happen.I am using Creo 7.
Hi all. In Creo toolkit how to take left and bottom most edges from the drawing view(not a model view)?if anyone knows pls help me Thanks

I need to create a Logo to place on a Drawing Template in Creo Parametric 8 but when I try to create it it shows only the lines. How can I make it of a solid color?

I added this line to my config.pro for Creo 9.0.5.0: EFX_LIBRARY_PATH X:\OR\Engineering\Systems\PTC_Settings\afx\ It gives an error message when I look at my active configuration that it is an invalid setting. I did copy the <loadpoint> Common Files/afx folder to X:\OR\Engineering\Systems\PTC_Settings I got the information from a 2018 thread, so I wonder if the settings have changed since then?
When I open a Drawing file in Creo Parametric 8, it won't let me put either tolerances or dual dimensions on the dimensions I place. Please help meeee, how can I activate those functions?
I had Windchill 12.0.2 with Creo 7.0.10 and CreoView Adapter 8.0 running where submitting a job by chedk-in would launch the adapter and publish the image. Did an upgrade to Creo 9.0.5 and CreoView Adapter 9.1 the other day and now it won't start automatically. If I start the ProEworker on the Windchill server, I can use the Worker admin tool and start the publishing and then jobs publish. If the ProEworker is not started, the worker doesn't start. In either case, the icon says Executable Not Safe, but it does start with the worker already running. I have double and triple checked the agent.ini file and the worker.exe.whitelist.prefixes setting to be sure both are spelled and capitalized exactly as Windows sees the folder names. Anyone have some idea as to what to try next?
I am trying to figure out how to pass an IDF from Creo (7.0.8.0) to my electrical coworkers who use Mentor Xpedition. I have been able to import IDF pairs I have received from them and see all the components, but I can't seem to export an IDF that shows them the components. Why is it that Creo only exports an emn from an assembly and no emp? When I send the emn over and they import it to Xpedition, they get the board outline, holes, keepouts, etc. but the components don't come in and it says "Component [ref des] found in IDF file but not in design so it was not imported" and I'm not sure what that error really means. How can I give an IDF with components placed with their outlines to my EEs?
I have a question about good practices, how to best choose the bend and corner reliefs (oblong, circle, rectangle, etc.)? When is one better than the other? Do you use any type as standard?
Hello,After installing Creo 10.0.0.0 Parametric with the UNI/Student license, the Composite feature is missing, as shown in the attached picture (It should be below "lattice". Other students using the same license and install configuration have it present. I reinstalled Creo, deleted and set up the license again. I tried configuring the ribbon (maybe the feature just isn't shown), but there is only a "composite properties" feature available with the name "composite" in it (see attached picture). Thanks
Hi, Currently when we import an emn & emp file in creo while connnected to windchill, if the component model exists in the windchill database, the import function will place the real model rather than the place bound volume. The issue is that there may be some component cad models that are wrong within the windchill database (the origin is badly oriented, or the dimensions are wrong), and i would not like to import them, and import the place bound volume instead. Is it possible in any way to tell creo or windchill to only search for components in a specific container within windchill? (for instance the "OFFICIAL_LIBRARY" container)
When I open an old version of an assembly using Windchill, it opens with the newest version of the components. Is there a way of opening the old version of the assembly with the then-versions of the components assembled?
I'm still learning the Creo features.I would be grateful if you could help me.I was checking out the Demo for the Enhanced Pattern feature. As you can see in the picture, there is a hole in the shape. When I checked the task tree on the left, I saw that the Extrude item contains reference elements. I tried to do something like this, but it was not possible to implement it like the method in the Demo except to set the reference element first and then Extrude. How can I Extrude like in the demo?
