Does anyone have a way to reference boms in a drawing note? I would like to make my drawing note intelligent so if the BOM changes my notes do also. i.e. Bond item (rpt.index) to item (rpt.index) with item (rpt.index).
Hello I have an issue. I currently have to create painting & labelling drawings for our products, which have to show where to paint, where and what type of sticker to apply, and what color stripes to paint on the OD. The problem is, the surface is round and tapered, I have tried to wrap text to the surface but not very successfully due to the tapered surface, and the same with the stripes. I am doing the drawing, outputting as PDF, then importing into PowerPoint and wrapping shapes onto the drawing and resaving as PDF. it works but I would like to do it within Creo if I can. I was thinking if I create a sticker as a part then assembly it to the model, but can I wrap the part to the round & tapered surface. Does anyone know a better way to create stickers & stripes on a part. Thanks Peter

Hello, I am attempting to access Article - CS69429 (link: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS69429 ) but unfortunately can not. I believe the issue that is occurring is that since I am using an academic license, the PTC website says I do not an active subscription to CREO. My team is using CREO to test the harnessing & cabling tools. Our test case is currently very simple at only two harnesses with associated four connectors. We are attempting to export our design in the .xml format built in to CREO but are then trying to parse this information and store it in an .xlsx or .csv document that displays the information better in a table. I am running into issues opening the exported .xml doc in Matlab due to the doctype definition and was hoping this article could help. The description seems to include everything I am trying to solve. Please let me know if you can assist me in accessing this article or gaining the information fro
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.8.0Creo is sometimes loading the incorrect workspace cache. This is resolved by closing and reopening Creo but this is slowing down productivity.
I have an imported image (company logo) saved in a generic drawing format. When I attempt to copy that drawing format (using "Copy from Other Drawing" and "Entire Sheet") into a new drawing, the format shows up WITHOUT the image. Is there a way to "lock" the image into the drawing so that it will accompany the drawing when it's copied into a new one?
I'm not sure if I'm reading this CS134024 table correctly. We have Creo 8.0.6.0 and NX2007 (2027 minor version). Upgraded from Creo4 and NX1926. Creo8 can open (as in File/Open, change file type to NX *.prt and select "Open") an NX1926 saved file. It cannot do the same all NX2007. Does the "Open" without Unite read off of the import column compatibility? We don't have Unite but do work with both NX and Creo. Since our PLM is Windchill, Creo has to be the top-level assembly CAD for the multi-CAD projects that sometimes have to consume NX files. We definitely don't want to import and create a Creo .prt from the same existing NX .prt.
Hello to all, I have a part containing simple program (I am using Pro/PROGRAM functionality). I want to read input values from file. Unfortunatelly I cannot find the description of format for such input file. PTC Help and PTC Knowledge Base didn't help... Do you have some tip or link to PTC source ? I use Creo Parametric 2.0 M020. I am currently working on a mechanical flower where I will use a linear motion to create a radial motion from 0 to 90 degrees. The linear motion will be 40mm from a crankshaft and I am now having problems designing the rack and pinion. Is there any easy way to calculate or think about how the degrees and distances should be between the gears? I have done some research but have not found an easy way to calculate it and I would like some input on my current design. Right now I have the problem that the further the pinion moves upwards the more problems I get (see pictures). I would highly appreciate any help with this problem! Thanks in advance.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM1401 user has an issue with Creo-Windchill connectivity stability. It happens, when working with Creo, that Creo looses the connection to Windchill. The user is then asked to enter his credentials again, but these are not accepted. The user is then unable to get the connection again. restarting Creo doesn't help. The only solution found so far is restarting the computer.Please advice how we can investigate this issue. So far we have not been able to establish a sequence to reproduce this issue.Here are the errors that I facedWindchill connection lost. User must login again but user account/password is not accepted.
I am using Creo Elements/Pro Release 5.0 Datecode M070I am a new user and I am working on a assembly print and I am having some difficulty displaying (what I believe to be) the top level assembly.My current BOM displays every component that is used in that final assembly. The final assembly is composed of individual components as well as a another assembly. There is an interesting note: my table does not display the name of my sub-assembly (only the components that used in that assembly). My current repeat region table attributes are: No Duplicates, Recursive, Bln by Part, No Cbl Info. This is how the table displays:Item number (4) and (5) belong to a sub-assembly named 1F-SOMB-14-1-S. On this BOM, the sub-assembly 1F-SOMB-14-1-S is not listed.I have performed some searches on this website and on the PTC.com knowledge base and I changed my attributes from Recursive to Flat. This is a question that will apply for some of our customers that use a master-image based IT-infrastructure (cloud, vm, deployed machines). Would there be a way to prevent the update from being executed for a certain group of users, so that admins could update the master-image when doing other updates and patches?

I am trying to add config setting "proj_view_note_format" in my config pro file and getting below error. I found this setting in ".dtl" file. Any idea to add this setting in my config.pro?
As shown in the picture above, I have no problems creating fillet welds and bevel groove welds when parts butt together as shown in the attachment. But I can't get it to add a bevel groove weld when 2 parts "tee" into each other. If you reference the picture you can see that I had no issues with creating the edge prep for this weld. But I can't get it to create the bevel groove weld for the parts that "tee" together. Using the "location" tab I think I've selected every combination of surfaces and edges but still having problems. If anybody has some helpful advice please let me know. Thanks, Steve

I've got an Excel add-in that I created that used to work with CREO 4, and when upgrading to CREO 7, it now crashes both programs to desktop with no error displayed. I've updated PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE and PRO_DIRECTORY. I've run the batch files. I've tried changing PRO_DIRECTORY in case it is not updated correctly to several other options, and it throws a different error so I'm ruling that out since what I assume is correct causes the crash. Are there any tips as to what is causing the hard crash? This is occurring for several users that used to use the Excel add-in but have updated to CREO 7.This occurs not only on code that was previously working, but also on the examples in the VB API document.
Hello, everyone. I tried to assemble the components with a matrix through the function "ProAsmcompAssemble()". I found that some matrices could be assembled successfully, some matrices could not, and the matrices themselves were correct. For example <matrix_1> cannot be assembled, it will return "PRO_TK_BAD_INPUTS".ProMatrix matrix_1 = { { 0.707107, 0.707107, 0.0, 0.0 },{-0.707107, 0.707107, 0.0, 0.0},{0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0},{33.2321, 64.3448, -130.0, 1.0} }; The following matrix <matrix_2> can be assembled successfully,ProMatrix matrix_2 = { {1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0},{0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0},{0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0},{0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0} }; I don't understand why this is, how to solve this problem, can someone tell me? I imported an assembly and now the components are "fixed" but I want to move a sub-group of them to another location. Doing "edit definition" I can move a single component using the dragger. But I have several (hundred) to move so doing so one by one isn't appealing. I guess I can restructure the ones I need to move into a sub-assembly, then move the subassembly with the dragger, and then restructure out into the parent again, but seems tedious. I found this menu under component operations: and the transform tool looks like it takes me through all the steps needed to make this move (simple translate along the principal coordinate axis) - yet nothing happens... Am I missing a step? Or is there another better way to do this?

When using Creo 4.0, if I am working on a drawing and want to open the part file for that drawing that resides in the same directory, I thought Creo would look in the same directory as the drawing file that I have open. Now it seems like I automatically go back to the working directory. Is my memory defective or is there something I changed in the Config file that is causing this?
Hi,We change our view projections and toggle from 1rd angle projection (Europe) to 3rd angle projection (US).To avoid mistakes, (of course symbol in Title block is changed) we want to add the name of the projected view under each drawing view.The config option: make_proj_view_notes = YES , do it automatically.But: the view name is the default name, and the system write the view name twice as shown in picture.It seems not possible to define the option to write a view name only one time, but always twice "view_name-view_name"Users need to manually correct it.Did someone use that option "make_proj_view_notes = YES" and how do you manage that please?Thanks.(Creo Element Pro Wildfire 5.0)
In the assembly after enabling the Show popup view from the model tree settings, While hovering the mouse cursor on any of the components in the model tree Creo shows the thumbnail of the part. Which shows the message (Click the image for a 3d view) Earlier updates of the Creo like in Version 7 after clicking on the image will get the 3d lightweight preview in the mini windows which is a useful feature for many customers. Now we are unable to get a 3d lightweight preview of the component geometry in Creo 9.
