Blended/Stippled Transparency options not available in Creo 7.0.7.0 even tough they are present in previous Creo 6.x and in the Creo 7 documentation too.The article in PTC support portal is not reachable.
Hello! Is anybody know where to find the switch to set up surface color of shell elements shown in the above screenshot? I have searched the "Help" provided by PTC, but couldn't find an answer. This is Simulate 6. I have been running random vibe simulations. Thanks. _JS
I have some legacy models that have a question mark in a black diamond by the part and drawing name. I can open the model but not the drawing. What does this tell me?
I am creating Asynchronous toolkit but i am getting this popup and after it my application stop working how i handle this
Hi! I'm finding some problems using flexibility. Here is what I'm doing - In the main assembly (PIC1 (1)) I use some parameters to define different variants - This parameters go downstream by the relations (see PIC2) until subassemblies 3 to 10 in PIC1 - Then, in PRO/PROGRAM, I use IF statements to add or suppress componentsThis work all fine, but now I'm trying to improve it making it flexible. So I apply Var Items to The parameters I'm using in the relations. Now comes the issue, just 4, 7 and 10 subassemblies are driven by flexibility while 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 not. The relations are equally applied and the programming is equal. Do you know which could be the reason of not be driven, or what conditions are neccessary to have them driven? Thanks!
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.2.0is there a way to add a view in material removal simulation? i would like to be able to see the front and back of the part at the same time like vericut.
Hello,I am planning to use "Generative Design" tool in Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.3.0; I don't have access to it yet.Does "Generative Design" tool in Creo 7.0.3 have the following capabilities while optimizing a design space?:1. Inertia Relief Analysis (without any specified displacement restraints)2. Modal Analysis3. Thermal AnalysisIf these capabilities are available in a different version of Creo, or, being planned for development, please provide some details.Thank you!
Hello Community, in Creo View, when I load another assembly (for example another file PVZ-2) into an open PVZ-1 using "Add Viewable to Session": Is it then possible to save PVZ-1 such that the loaded viewable PVZ-2 remains contained in PVZ-1, and reappears the next time I open the file PVZ-1?
Tolerances. How do you choose their values for things that are not critical? Do you treat the tolerances as a 'target to shoot for' or 'hard limits' that if exceeded by any amount constitute a rejected part? ASME Y14.5 2018 defines a tolerance this way: So how do you determine the actual limits of a feature, and how do you communicate your 'preferred size range' for a feature if different than the limits actually applied? Take the top of this headed punch for example: The .020 fillet has a title block tolerance of +/- .005 which means anything between .015 and .025 is 'in spec.' Does that mean we should scrap or reject something that comes in at .012 or .027? I can't imagine we would since this is not a critical feature. Even with the .625 dimension (which is much more important), if one of them arrived from a vendor at .6229 or .6251, I don't think we would reject it, even though by definition it is out of spec. How do
Hi. Creo 7 here. I'm trying to find a way to modify import recipe or whatever else could be driving this in order to have Creo import assemblies which contain assembly level appearance modifications with those modifications. Here's the issue breakdown:I have assemblies which mostly contain frames designed in Inventor/Solidworks. I export them to STEPs and import into Creo (cause I need to output PVZ files in the end). Parts which have appearance overrides are being imported with those overrides but any override at assembly level (no matter the depth) is not being imported. Now, I tried both 214 and 242 export protocols, I tried every option available in import settings and nothing gives me the result. I know those appearances are present in exports cause I can import them again into other software and they're there. Fun fact is, that the first time I did all of this Creo imported everything as intended...I think I may have altered something in Creo and no
Hi there,my issue today is, i would like to import files (mostly sheet metal designs) from GeoMagic from step format.I already know how to transfer the step file so it becomes a sheetmetal with the whole rool up and bend stuff. Only thing i cant seem to get to work is how to modify cutouts. Is there any way to manage to modify drillings and punchouts and all of that?
WF4, M220I'm having situations where, in certain drawings only, all text on the drawing will disappear. The common denominator seems to be creating the drawing from a drawing template, although the issue does not affect all drawings created from that template. I have an assy template and a part template, and some, not all, drawings created from them have the issue. In some cases, a brand new drawing from the template will have text only for an instant, it disappears almost immediately. This is text in notes, tables and repeat regions alike. In the tables, all the cells are there and the number of (blank) lines in a repeat region table will be right, but the table is blank. I can double click in a table cell and the text will return, but only temporarily. Updating the drawing views makes the text disappear again. For notes, the text is simply gone, no way to get it to return, even for notes that contain only a parameter value. Switch dim sy
I'm using CREO Parametric 7. I am trying to use CREO's built-in mass properties in my assembly drawings. I can use the session ID for each part to get the right numbers. "&pro_mp_mass:sessionid", but it's tedious to find the right session ID, and if the assembly changes, it's tedious to go through and change every session ID. I would rather use the feature name, or even Feat ID. It looks like I might be able to do something like "&pro_mp_mass:fid_FIND1" or "&pro_mp_mass:fid_40" (see attached image) but I can't get this to work. I know that I can get a nice full list of all the values in a repeat region, but I want to reference the value in another annotation, individually by part. Any thoughts?
Hey guys,I've created a thin sheet-metal part with a sweep which is folowing a 3D-curve.Now I like to create a flat pattern of this part, but here creo does fail.I've also tried to create a "flatten quilt", but this won't work either.Does anybody know how to solve this?
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for handling a body which is defined in a multibody part file but then also occurs multiple times in said file. For example, let’s say you have an injection molded housing and insert molded in all four corners of that housing is a custom metal component. The metal piece is identical at all four positions. Obviously this part is best modeled as a single instance in the multibody file and then extracted out as a single part. I am looking for tips or best practices for how the other 3 instances should be handled. Thanks in advance!
I am using Creo Parametric Release 3.0 and DatecodeM190Creo Prametric - DrawingI have created a part and a set datum tag annotation with "On Geometry" option.I have created a new drawing of the part. When I try to link the datum tag to a dimension in drawing ("In Dim" option), it's reported error "Selected part is not active. Select again" in prompt.I found the article 'CS118991 "Selected part is not active. Select again" error reported when attempting to place datum "In Dim" in Pro/ENGINEER, Creo Elements/Pro, and Creo Parametric' in Knowledge Base, but when I try to open it I get the message "Sorry. Article 118991 was not found".Could you help me to solve the problem and be able to link the datum tag to the dimension?RegardsHere are the errors that I faced"Selected part is not active. Select again" error reported when attempting to place datum "In Dim" in Creo Parametric
How to reclaim lost Mill volume?
Many years ago, Prior to the Creo 4.0 release, I saw a demo of a 3D solid body sweep (non helical) feature that PTC was working on. Whatever happened to that functionality and when will it be available.
I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this strange behavior of constraint icons or dimensions being lost ?So far this is what I've found:happens in creo 7.0.6 and 8.0.2on an Nvidia machine Quadro P2000 and on a virtual AVD AMD machinecomes out of the bluecan be missing in one part and still visible in another.restarting creo will often solve it.Updating to the latest driver won't helpoften on files originating from Creo 4 I'm not expecting advise or anything to solve it, just trying to collect more clues.
Hi Guys, One thing that always kind of bugs me in Creo was when in sketcher, trying to sketch an extrude or something. When selecting an existing edge ...why does Creo let you pick the same edge more than once? (using project in sketcher) When that happens you no longer have a closed sketch, and have to remove it. In other software I use, if you click an edge to use in your sketch, it sketches it. If you clicked that same edge again (say by accident) , it would removed it. So there was never a time it would have multiple sketched features one on top of another. Is there a setting to not allow you to have multiple edges of the same edge in your sketch. Maybe its the way I am used to sketching things, but i have NEVER had the need or want to have the same edge picked more than once when in sketcher.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.3.0We want to give our own series for Part, assembly and drawing. For example if we start new part, then its name is coming as prt0001.prt but we want same to start with SSI_00_00 like this. This same name should come for drawing(in stead of drw0001.drw). Kindly advise the for the same.
In this video, we will learn to customize the system color set background color to display a gradient between two colors
I noticed today that my config.pro file has sent a ton options as invalid options. It appears to be the same 8-10 repeating over and over again. I don't seem to be able to delete any of them. Is there a way to "start fresh" or will I need to go into notepad to take care of these? It should also be noted that we are a small company and do not have a CAD Administrator to handle these types of issues.
Has anyone used DFMPro or aPriori before? Are there any similar tools out there? Is your organization getting benefit from these tools? What is your experience with your group using them? Any pros/cons from the user side or from an administrative side? Do you integrate them into Windchill? Is one much stronger than the other in some areas? Can they really predict costs well enough for the engineer? Thanks!
Hello, I have been trying to find if there is an answer to this or not How do you redefine the attachment of the ECAD_REF_DES driven notes in the 3D model? Background:For our systems, I have been using the ECAD_REF_DES to assign reference designators at the top level assembly so that when manufacturing pulls down the creo view files created in windchill, the refdes for cables and pcbs show up for them, so they know with 3d annotations which cable is what The problem I am running into is that when I click show annotations and then activate the reference designator notes, that the attachment to the models that they reference is rarely where I want it, and it is never consistent. In some cases it is attached to the parts default csys, sometimes to the skeleton csys, sometimes to a random csys in the cable harness part. What we were doing is having to go in and create annotation features and then manually creating annotations for the BOM balloons and reference desi
