I'm really confused here. The command it self sounds really cool, but it is greyed out for me. This link says I have it in Creo 8 : https://www.ptc.com/en/blogs/cad/whats-in-creo8 . Do I need any special license for it?
Has anyone had success in calling out a part number parameter on an assembly model for a component? I am looking for ways to eliminate assembly drawings and just use MBD model files. I would like to do something similar to ballooning out an assembly, but I am having difficulty in making it work. I can use an attached note and type "&part_number:att_mdl" to show the parameter "part_number" from the component part. But if I want to do an unattached note, how do I call out the parameter of a component? I tried "&part_number:8" where 8 would be the session ID of the part, but that does not work.
In creo how do you make a part within an assembly a reference part. What I mean by this is I want to put a part in an assembly, but I only want it to be in the model, not the Bill of Materials. So when I export the Bill it doesn't include the part. So it shows up in the model only.
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 3.0 (connected) 3.0 M100I'm trying to download the installation file but I see this. PTC Creo 3.0 for Windows - 32 & 64 bitMost recent DatecodeDatecode: M100Not Available.I bought only the perpetual license at the time with no upgrades/support.I used to be able to download the installation file here years after but it's not available for download anymore?
I am looking into the possibility of creating process drawings by replacing the view model from an engineering drawing (copy) with a process model using the "Replace View Model" function in Creo Parametric. I have been able to get it to work with a very simple model, however most of the time I get an error saying that "the models are not related by any shrinkwrap, merged or derived model" despite the fact that the process model is just an inheritance of the engineering model. Also, for some reason, the cross sections from section views are lost when I replace the view model. I am using the following settings. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated.
Good day to everyone! I used AFX and I created an exploded view in View Manager. After some assembly modification, replacing and movement of parts I verified my exploded view in assembly, which is updated, but in drawing the view showed these components overlaped. What should I do to have the exploded view updated in drawing? Another thing, how I can add a balloon to the 12 component, because Create Balloon by component doesn't work? I attach 2 pictures here.

Does anyone know how to do this?. I have not seen out of 200 so speak free half hearted post the PTC offer that can do that . Multi-Axis machining is a must these days and will be here for a long time. Because the 3D stuff is very slow and has material constraints the limits things you can do!.
hi all, how can I change feed rate in the tap cycle?the resulting F must be the feed rate and not the ratio of feed rate to of rpm. example F0.7 no F350 (S500). thanks

I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M180I was sent new FLEXLM files recently for the addition of a "piping and cabling" license. These files were setup for "release 8.0", but we are currently running "release 3.0"? Do we need to have another set of FLEXLM files reissued setup with "release 3.0" or will the current files setup with "release 8.0" work?
Hey all, I use PTC CREO 4.0, I would like a help.Create an assembly, which has a family table where it varies the length of a tie. This tie is in flexible because it is used in other assemblies. The question is, I created a drawing for the generic assembly and whenever I open the other items on the family table, I cannot link the drawing of the assembly with the models on the family table. Below the drawing created for the generic assembly. And this is the error that appears when I try to open the drawing of the generic assembly by a model of the family table.
Hi forum, how can I hide the X/Y/Z coordinate system that appears bottom left, when viewing a part/assembly?
Using Creo 5.0 and no matter what i do i cant seam to hide the solid pipe center line after making pipes in the model using the piping tool. I tried PIPE_SOLID_CENTERLINE and set it to no. That made no change. I hid all the piping lines and that makes no difference. The only way I can hide the center line of the pipes in my drawings is to hide the Solid pipes them self. There are many drawings i want to see the solid pipe just not the center line. I'm at a loss that should be an easy setting to change. Please help.
Experiencing a 30+ second delay while working in Creo Parametric Clicking the "open" button on the toolbar causes the delay before the dialog box appears (opening any file from "Recent Files" has no delay) In an assembly, clicking the "Assemble" button from the toolbar causes the delay before the dialog box opens. Clicking the "View Manager" button has the delay before the 'View Manager" dialog box opens. In a drawing, right-click "Sheet Setup" browse for a format causes the delay. Creo Parametric 7.0.3.0 - Windows 10: This is a new computer, I don't know if this is a Windows 10 issue or Creo issue. Previous computer was Windows 7 and Creo 6. Has anyone had this issue or have suggestions on how to troubleshoot it???
Hi forum, in our company, assemblies seem to be created in Creo in a medium grey shade by some default Creo setting. With this grey color, contours and lines in Creo can be easily recognized even if, for example, "Shaded with Edges" is selected in "Render Mode. In Creo View, however, these default medium grey parts are always shown completely black, and any surface details are hardly recognizable. If render mode is set to "Shaded with Edges" in Creo View, even the edges are not visible at all, since both surfaces and edges are just black. What is the reason for this differing appearance between Creo and Creo View, and what can we do solve the issue -- that is, how can we ensure that the standard Creo gray is not shown as black in Creo View, but in gray as intended?
I would like to make copies of an imported part and only change one color. However if I modify the color of the copied part, the same color in the original part also changes.. I do not want to simply want to repaint the whole part with a new color by selecting all surfaces because its a complex part with different colors on a lot of surfaces.

I believe this has been addressed in the past but I can't find a discussion that is pertinent. We're using Creo 4.0, M090. Users in my company will re-use an old design, modifying it to suit a new situation. In the process, probably after a save, Creo will create a part file whose name is a random string of characters, for example "d938ei1k61ho5l23kmnenkfti6.prt.1" These are rather large files, many MBs larger than anything else in the directory, and if you are curious and attempt to open one, Creo will crash. I'm guessing that this behavior is associated with what version of Creo the model was created in? Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this behavior and/or how we can avoid it happening?
Hello, I am trying to create a drawing with dimensions in mm to 2 decimal places for tolerance purposes. I have one dimension which is 24.00 and when I set the number of decimal places to X.XX it displays 24 instead of 24.00. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I am using Creo 4.

Hi guys, I am trying to start using the framework extension with Creo 7. I am building a simple frame where there are 4 profiles connected together for the frame's top and 4 legs connected at corners. I am able to do joints for the top but when I try to connect the top with legs I get error message asking me Overwrite existing join? No matter what I do I am unable to connect this profile with existing joint to another profile to the leg.I watched some YT videos and there presenters are able to do what I want. What could I be doing wrong?Thank you.

I am creating a new drawing format and in the table where I show the file name I am using the parameter &PTC_WM_NUMBER. So if the file name is 123456abc.prt it shows up in the tile block as 123456abc.prt. I want to find a way to remove the extension .prt or .asm and just show the file name "123456abc".
