Creo+ and Creo Parametric

hi all,   having simple code such:   public void listEdges() {try {Solid mySolid = (Solid) currentSession.GetCurrentModel();int edgesQTY = mySolid.ListItems(ModelItemType.ITEM_EDGE).getarraysize();currentSession.UIShowMessageDialog("EdgesQTY: ," +edgesQTY, null);} catch (jxthrowable e) {// TODO Auto-generated catch blocke.printStackTrace();}}   I receive different results. when I have a simple solid part with one extrude feature (10x20x1) as e result I get :12 edges, but when this same is launched in sheetmetal part jlink shows 20 egdes.  Any idea??      

I am trying to make a semi-automated assembly that will take inputs from the user, shuffle in the appropriate sub-assemblies, and generate my model.   The issue I'm having is making a user friendly way of collecting the inputs. I've heard that a table could be made in a drawing attached to an assembly, and repeat regions used to alter assembly parameters. I've actively no idea how to get this done.    For reference, I need to be able to have a user input the voltage, amperage, and quantity of a type of wire assembly. I need them to also do this several times, as there can be several of these subassemblies present in the overall model.   I can write the code and relations to manipulate the data and assembly from there, but repeat regions have always been a bit outside my understanding.    Any and all help would be appreciated!

I have a assembly model that is failing when I open it. I says that a model is missing. An instance of a family table was obsoleted, but I do not see where in the assembly that the missing part is suppose to be. When I go back into the family table, and temporarily add the instance it is looking for, the assembly model is "happy" but I still do not see where the model it was looking for is supposed to be. Here is the tree and model info screen shots both before and after adding the missing instance back into the family table. Again, I do not see where the part is suppose to be. Hi   We can create a string type parameter whose max length can be 80 characters. Is there a way to restrict minimum size of parameter value? In other words , I just need first character in parameter value for a parameter and rest all should be discarded. Is there any configuration or option for same?

We are on CREO 4, M080.  On a drawing, we show a hole feature annotation note and the leader is as expected, off the front line of text.   Then we attach a GTOL to the note, and the leader changes to underneath the last line and places the GTOL all the way at the end of the leader.  What is/are the option/s that are controlling this?  I have never seen this behavior before.   This is what we get: And yes, this is just a simple example, we know the GTOL isn't correct. What we want is this: The above was created by creating an unattached GTOL, and then use the & id code in the hole note. This is just a work around, there has to be a better solution.  One that doesn't make the use go thru extra steps. Thanks in advance!      

I plotted multiple curves in Matlab (around 100 curves, curves from equation) and I want to sweep (circular cross section) along these curves to create multiple 3D solid pipes. Is it possible to do in Creo? If yes how can I import multiple curves and sweep along these curves at once? Or create them using for loop, for instance.  

In Creo Parametric 2D drawings, is there a way to change the notes that are added when I introduce a section or a detailed view in a drawing?   For instance, the default for a new section view is "Section X-X", but I would like to change the word "Section" to the equivalent in my language automatically, as changing it by hand every time is tedious. Similarly, I would like to edit the default note for all detailed views.     Do I have to edit the iso.dtl file? I am aware that something similar exists for auxiliary views (http://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/detail/detail_options.html, see "aux_view_note_format") but I could not find any similar configuration option for sections or detailed views.   Thanks in advance!

I have created 3D surface of a helix (inside is hollow) which is an STL file. How can I extract surfaces using Creo Parametric? Notice that helix created as STL file is made up of meshes. Is it possible to extract cylinder surfaces from that?  The figure below is the 3D surface of the helix created.

I wonder how to assign 2D Drawing layer when I export dxf file.   I want to use dxf file in AutoCAD layer for distinguish layer.   Please give me good idea~~

Hello.   I made sheetmetal part and 2D drawing. I made layer form layer and embo layer to include form and extrude feature by rule. After this I change the color in each layer items using line style. But export drawing to dxf and open it in AutoCAD layer color is not applied changed color in Creo. Is there any good solution?

Hi everyone, thanks for your help in advance.We are starting to migrate from using IDF transfer for ECAD-MCAD collaboration, to using IDX transfer format. We are currently using Mentor Graphics Expedition for our ECAD tool. Our environment is multi-cad - primarily Creo, but we do have some NX usage in the company.We are looking to see if anyone has any previous experience or ideas for updating the IDX file output to support differences in the ECAD cell name (Model) and the MCAD model name. The MCAD models have a _CR or _NX suffix added to the ECAD name so that we can have different MCAD models stored in Windchill, based on the MCAD tool.We are looking for info in creating a script (or scripts), or identifying where the IDX file needs to be updated, that will be able to add the appropriate suffix so that when we read in the IDX file into Creo or NX it will pull in the appropriate MCAD model. The other script for the converse will strip the _CR or _NX suffix when we go back to the ECAD t

I am currently trying to make a long metric ruler in PTC Creo Parametric 3.0. I have been able to apply the millimeter tick marks across the ruler. I was also able to extrude the number 10, but when I try to extrude any other numbers, such as 20 and on, Creo says that the feature has failed, but I am unsure of why. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

When I do a "Replace" in an assembly, the dialog box default is set to "Reference Model".   I almost always use "Unrelated Component". Is there a way I can change the default setting?    

I have created and saved a part in PTC Creo Parametric (Student Edition) and when I try to import the file into a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software the FEA software fails to open CAD file and shows 'Failed to load input file'. What is the reason of this? Is it because I am using Creo Student Edition?

I can open STL files one by one but each time I open a different STL file Creo opens it on a new page. I want to open all STL files on a single page with a single operation. How can I do that?

Hi i am prem, After installing the Creo 4.0 there was promt showing 1. Environmental variable "LNXPARAMETERLST" 2. Error PRO_TK_E_NOT_FOUND 3. Hello experts,   In Creo, when I do analysis of the part, the deformation is very high but the maximum stress in the component is less than the material's yield stress. Even when I increase the loads so much that the software gives error of very high deformation, the maximum stress is still less than the material's yield stress. Any explanations?    Here I have chosen the material S355 of lugs (front plate) and applied force 194.5 kN at 45 degree at the top corner. here i attched my assembly file. my yield stress is 328 Mpa while S355 yield stregth is 345Mpa. but i dont under stand deformation is 68mm which is very high.     Is there a smart solution to this problem?
