I have a mirrored feature and then go back and edit it. In doing so it seems to very rarely fix the mirrored features which should be dependent on the others I would think. Am I doing something wrong when I mirror it?
I've a main assembly say 'assy1.asm', it has a sub assembly 'assy2.asm', this sub-assy has a part say part1.prt. Now this part (is a hose made using piping) is not visibile in main assembly. But if you open assy2, the part is clearly visible. I'm facing this kind of problem for the first time. I've checked all representations, unhidden all layers, unit systems, no regeneration issues and there is no extrude made in the main assy that cut throught this part. I've tried to open the same assy in different creo in another system, the same problem exists. What's causing this issue & how I can fix this.
I tried equivalent functions listed in the manual https://creopyson.readthedocs.io/en/latest/modules.html for example: Called through a client session : c.drawing_get_sheet_format(1) Called from Creopyson module : creopyson.drawing.get_sheet_format(c,1) And I found that they return the same result. Please ignore the specific example of "get_sheet_format" my question is : why there are two ways to call the same function?
My company is using Creo 6.0 and we have the Creo Design Essentials (T1) package. When I select "check screw fasteners", I get the message that this function is not included with the standard version. Does the (T1) package only include the standard version or should it be the full version? If it does include the full version, how do I get the license for Intelligent Fasteners to load? Thanks
Is it possible to create balloons for sub level assemblies componentes in a nested repeat region table
Is there any way to put a standard hole size controlled by a parameter? For example having a parameter with size M8x1.0, ,and changing the standard hole size, to M8x1.0? If yes how to do it?
Hi all, I would like to perform a shape optimization on a simple beam undergoing large deflections. For this purpose, several simulation steps are needed. Simulate provides good results on a single simulation, i.e. it outputs a user-defined measure for a specific number of simulation steps. However, it seems impossible to define an "error function" for optimization studies (e.g. root mean square value evaluated in a series of simulation steps). Simulate considers the last value, i.e. the one evaluated during the last simulation step through the "measure tool". How can I proceed?
Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to get the name (and other data if possible) of a 3D symbol like the one marked with a red rectangle in the picture below. I'm using Creo 6.0.4.0 and toolkit. Any help or advice is much appreciated.
hello i have a little problem ; i want to create a single surface instead four is posible ? i attach picture for better understanding
Hi, my coworker is running into an odd issue. We normally use No Hidden views and use the Edge Display to show certain hidden lines. They ran into an issue where the drawing would not display the hidden lines. If Show Modified Edges is used, they can see the edges that were set to display as hidden. Once checked in, Creo View did indeed show the hidden lines, but the drawing on their PC doesn't reflect this. I opened the drawing on my PC and the hidden edges were showing. Our detail options match, same for system colors. Our config files should pretty much be the same, but that was the next thing I was going to try. Thanks, Nick
What is the history of the "Insert" constraint for assemblies? I'm sure there used to be a constraint called "Insert". I was using another CAD package for a while and when I came back to Pro/E (CREO) "Insert" was gone... What's the story? Thanks
Not a Toolkit developer, just curious about something... Are there any Toolkit commands that would allow analyzing a Creo Parametric assembly file without actually retrieving into session the entire assembly and all of its dependents? Somehow the Creo View Adapters are able to do this today when publishing 'positioning assemblies'. They open the assembly file, extract a list of components and their relative positions, and also extract all of the assembly parameters. All of this happens without ever retrieving or opening any of the assembly's required dependents. Is it possible to do this same thing with Toolkit, or is this some hidden capability that only PTC has? I'd like to be able to interrogate assembly files (read all parameters, get list of components, etc.) without having to retrieve or load any of the dependents components. Thanks.
Hi All, I would be keen to have a conversations with anyone interested in or has experience with automated design processes and automated parametric product configurators. Have we ever compared the 3 major mid range CAD packages (ProE, SW, Inventor) as yet with regards to their set of parametric tools? There is another discussion in AD Inventor Users Group about automated design and product configurators ETO/iLogic. We used iLogic & and Excel spreadsheet and developed a fairly complex configurator. See more here.. http://www.linkedin.com/groupItem?view=&gid=130938&type=member&item=190509363&qid=250b0d6d-cde6-4abb-996c-5ffddca51ddb&trk=group_items_see_more-0-b-ttl But we realised that due to the complexity of our models and our business objectives we have to look further and evaluate other set of tools (CAD & automated configurator options) that might do better than iLogic & excel. So we started evaluating Creo and Solidworks w
Save a Mirror Assembly works fine when "Perform symmetry analysis" is unchecked. When I use "Perform symmetry analysis", it opens up a window containing a list of components that are going to reuse and new mirrored components. If I click on OK of 'Mirror Assembly Components' window, It gives "Fatal error encountered. A traceback is written to 'working directory'. Please send it to Technical Support." traceback.log file is attached. Anybody in the house, who can help me with this? Thanks
How to get the Grid-Reference of a dimension? I tried to read a dimension by CREOSON c.dimension_list_detail(name='D14') and the response is : [{'dwg_dim': False, 'dim_type': 'linear', 'name': 'd14', 'sheet': 0, 'value': 30.0, 'encoded': False, 'text': ['{0:@D}\n']}] No grid-reference info. So what's the correct way?
A hopefully not too dumb question. In toolkit, in the structure pro_model_item which is used by ProDimension, ProAnnotation, ProAnnotationElem amongst others you have 3 structure members typedef struct pro_model_item { ProType type; int id; ProMdl owner; } I thought the id would be unique but apparently this is not the case (e.g. a gtol and a datum tag). So I was wondering should they be unique and what is the purpose of this id? Any help is much appreciated.
Hi I am looking for some help establishing a new machine and getting the correct post processor. does anyone have a post that fits this machine?
Better choose single thread oriented processor instead on lot of cores?? i cant find any benchmark for creo.
Is there an option to see exact values of pressure, velocity etc. in Creo 4.0? For example: If I create a monitoring point in a pipe, I would like to see the exact velocity-value "xy" at this point. I just can plot a graph. My actual goal is to get an average value of an area with different velocities (like shown in the picture). I just have the rough information from the legend.
Hello, using CREO 4, I have defined a Datum plane (in 3D model using Annotate Feature - C in this pic) related to a dimension. In the drawing I can see this Datum Ref in the view in which I see the dimension. But, is it possible, with some tricks, to visualize the same datum plane in other views ? I know that it's possible if the Datum is related to a surface, but I need to keep the relation to a dimension. Thanks Pier
Hello, I'Ve developed an application using Jlink, and it works! But when i start a second session of CREO, in the second session, the Jlink application, doesn't start. Is that normal?
Matteo.
Hello community, I would like to ask for help. As I want to write my own script and run it within Creo Parametric 3.0. I would like to know if this is possible. By script, I mean something like an addon that (completely random example) selects a surface(e.g. by projection from a plane)/face and writes 3D letters upon this surface or such stuff. Of course it would be interesting for CAE/CAM menus as well, but for now I am only interested on a very specific thing on CAD and I am wondering if I have to switch to Inventor to do so in case I cannot stay on Creo (that I used for 4 years now and I would feel much more comfortable doing so). So, is there such thing that I can add my own stuff into the software? Thanks in advance, PP
I am looking at running some random vibration analyses with wire rope isolators and I am curious to Simulates capabilities in handling the non-linear linear springs that have different force-deflection curves in tension and compression. The attached image is representative of the type of spring I would like to idealize. Can simulate handle this type of spring? Can I set it up with a table where tension is negative deflection or something along those lines? Thanks for your help! Typical Wire Rope Isolator Load vs. Deflection
Hello,I'm in engineering class and I'm currently working on a caterpillar cam toy.I'm trying to figure out how to define my second cam (the follower) for the mechanism. When I select my fllower pole surface, it says " please sleect some cam geometry.I have no problems defining my cam gear (concentric)I have attached an assembly with my parts.
