Does anyone know how to configure the Creo Performance Advisory to show all types of Creo Crashes (ehem..I mean, "premature Exits") regardless of cause (logging error, memory, etc) by build? I would like to use this as a tool to see which build code/ship code is most stable for us but what I did find didn't seem to be comprehensive nor reliable data. Thanks! Lawrence
I successfully installed CREO parametric 4.0, however when I double click on the creo parametric 4 icon on my desktop, the loading sign appears for a few seconds, then nothing happens and never launches at all. In the traceback file, an abnormal report is as follows: The trace creation timestamp is: Mon Apr 20 22:27:46 20The executable build timestamp is: Thu Jan 01 08:00:36 70The datecode is: NAThe pro machine type is: NAThe process ID is: NAThe traceback type is : CRASH-------------------------------------------------Exception EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION has occurred in the thread 19968. Please help me with this, I downloaded it on my laptop which has no problem, but on my desktop this happens. I disable firewall during installation. When I reinstalled it, the problem persist. My graphic cards are: AMD Radeon R5 330 and Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 which are compatible. Neither am I running any VPN network.
Hi, I have a part with multiple coordinate systems used for placement purposes. When I save this part as a STEP file, Creo lets me choose just 1 coordinate system for export, but I would like to export all coordinate systems. What am I missing? I use Creo 2.0
Hello all, Is it possible to show one particular coordinate system in one view, and which is not effected by the show/hide CS check box? I could use layers, but that still does not solve the problem which the show/hide CS check box. Because if someone else wants to print the drawing, they first have to check the CS box to show the correct CS. Otherwise the drawing will not be complete. This is necessary for a assembly drawing I want to create. With the CS in place, the person viewing the drawing knows how the component is placed in the overall system and in which orientation.
Hello, In CREO 5, I have opened the 'reference viewer' for an assembly. All the components reporting to the assembly are listed as 'parents' and no components are listed as 'children'. Is this backwards? Is the software backwards on this? Thank you.
Hello, I have a question regarding placement of features and patterns. When for example, in a assembly have a 1 pattern with holes. I use the pattern to place multiple bolt by pattern - reference. Then when I change the hole pattern, I get a error message in the assembly containing the bolts saying the pattern is wrong. But in actuality the placement is wrong. As the hole that contained the first addition of the pattern as being removed. What is the best practice to use bolt patterns and holes? Why does Creo not first handle the placement and then the pattern? Is this a feature to be added or is it not possible? Kind regards, Siege_engineer
Hello. When Ii try import data from ECAD (emn, emp) Creo is crashed... Placement is ok, but outline update is not possible...
I must read values from tolerance Table (for example shaft). Java user guide has following text: All the user specified information for a tolerance is saved in a tolerance table forISO and DIN standards. You can retrieve and set the data for tolerance tablesusing Creo Object TOOLKIT Java methods. I cann't find this methods and cann't read values from tables. It is the ITEM_TABLE? ModelItems tables = model.ListItems(ModelItemType.ITEM_TABLE); Thank you
I am trying to add surface finish specification to selected surfaces of a model so that the surface finisk specification [dimension] wil display on the 2 d draft drawing. I am told to do this when working in the part model by the following method. Go to main menue, insert annotations, [from drop down menue] select surface finish. Pro E gives window then : I try to follow the instructions to select surfaces/ including them in the references field/ editing the "roughness height" and am unsuccessful at getting the surface finish to appear in the model. I have tried many combinations and still unsuccessful. I can't believe how complicated this needs to be just to apply a simple surface finish note. I was able to get "annotation icon to populate the tree. Thought I was getting close. Tried to do edit and got lost in various tabs [parameters ect] that seem way to complicated for something so simple as surface finish. Why so complex? Will someone please tell me the
i can't wrap my mind around how such a sophisticated piece of software has made editing text and tables so difficult and cumbersome! Tables why can't i use tab or arrows to navigate to different cells? why does it take multiple clicks to navigate to a different cell? how come when i add a line to the table it doesn't copy the formatting and font size from the line before it? every time i add a line, the text goes huge and overflows all over the place Text am i missing something or is there still no way to indent? no easy way to do a numbered or bulleted list (yet they have it on this site... weird!)
Hello, How do you specify the tolerance for the drill depth and thread depth within the standard hole tool so that the hole callout in the drawing, when shown, is complete? Presently, only the nominal depths are shown in the drawing view. Thank you.
I'm wondering how companies are keeping Instance Accelerator's up to date. There are two ways to update them. Which method are you using?1) User manually go into the file menu (File -> Manage File -> Instance Accelerator -> Update Accelerator) Or a mapkey to do this. 2) Set the config setting "update_accelerator_in_verify yes". This updates the accelerator upon verify of the family table.Or I guess another way to state this..why would I not use the config setting if instance accelerators are being created?
Is there any announced enhancements to CREO 7.0. Will be any beta test to it. I know it's quite soon to it, it will be released in March 2020. But any news? I found this:https://youtu.be/mtC_SAhV-iY

I am getting a weird window popup when ever I try to maneuver within the workspace window and it is extremely hard to function. How do I keep this from happening? See the attached screen capture. Creo parametric 5.0.4.0 Windows 10 Thinkpad P52 laptop
I have an old properly paid PTC license coupled to a Linksys USB100TX Network adapter which has followed me over the years through a number of changed operating systems.. I moved to a new computer running Windows 10 and found out that there is no Windows 10 driver for this adapter. Consequently I cannot get the new computer to recognize the adapter and therefore I cannot get Proe setup accept the license file. I have tried to change the MAC address in the properties of the network adapter in the new computer and when I run "ipconfig /all" the old desired MAC address is displayed but when I try Proe setup, it still lists the adapter's original MAC address as host ID. I stopped paying license maintenance 8-10 years ago so I don't suppose it is possible to go back to PTC and ask for a license file with a changed MAC address. Any idea anyone?
Currently, my skeleton is only transparent when I have it activated. If I activate other parts inside the skeleton, it becomes opaque and I have to blindly click until I find the surfaces I would like to reference. Any thoughts?
I downloaded and installed Creo 7 the other day and put in a new license file for Creo 7. When I go to start Creo 7, I get an AFX and IFX not licensed error and the program then exits. I do not have licenses for these products, so not sure why Creo 7 is looking to start them. I then ran Creo 4 on the same machine (my Windchill server) and it started up fine. Has PTC done something wrong in Creo 7 that is looking for licenses and then failing if they are not found, even if not license?.
Hello Community, I am adding an inclined part in EMX Assembly by top-down process. Part getting added in assembly successfully, but while generating BOM the size calculated by system is rectangular even part is like pin (Circular). (Actual Size : Dia50 x 300mm - Calculated size: 258 x 258 x80) Similarly I am assembled a rectangular plate in inclined way by topdown process, wrong size calculated. (Actual Size : 408x 70x 28.3 mm - Calculated size: 408 x 68 x61) Please find the attached screen shots. I used standard Demo data set for trial of EMX assembly. Looking for response.
Ready for another 15 minutes of Creo tips from our product manager experts? In the videos below, you’ll see how to avoid pitfalls when adding components to a Model Tree, a faster way to reach your AR experiences, and tips for getting embossed text on curved surfaces. Drag-and-Drop Without Restructuring the Model Tree Normally when you drag-and-drop parts and subassemblies in the Model Tree, they're moved to wherever you drop them. However, restructuring components can lead to unwanted changes in the assembly structure. However, you can change this behavior so Model Tree components are not restructured when you drag-and-drop components. Hi I've been running Pro E on my work desktop accessed via Remote DesktopConnection. If I connect to an existing ProE session, I get performance which isadequate for what I want to do. If I start a new Pro E session from within the remote desktop session, the Pro E graphics are slow to highlight. This makes it so slow I can'twork effectively. The Pro E session is still slow when I am back at my workstation. Does anyone know of any configurations for Remote Desktop Connection, orNvidea graphics card which would make it behave the same whetherconnected via Remote or sitting at my desk. While in a RDP session Creo opens up using OpenGL graphics. This can hinder the performance over the connection and it is best to start Creo in the console session to avoid this. Here is a batch script that is working for us. Use this script to launch Creo while connected via RDP. Upon execution the script will send the current session to the console and launch Creo. The user will need to restart RDP but then Creo will be running without using OpenGL graphics. You may need to change the working and program directories to match your environment. @echo offcall :sub_checkAdmin set ActiveID=unknownfor /f "tokens=3-4" %%a in ('query session %username%') do @if "%%b"=="Active" set ActiveID=%%atscon %ActiveID% /dest:consoletimeout /t 2 > nulstart "Creo" /D D:\ENGINEERING\WORKING "C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 5.0.2.0\Parametric\bin\parametric.exe" EXIT :sub_checkAdminNET SESSION >nul 2>&1IF %ERRORLEVEL% NEQ 0 (ECHO.ECHO ERROR: This script requires elevated privil
Hello, I am looking to use custom bom balloons by default. I know how to change the bom balloons (Table-Properties-Type), however I want my format (.frm) to use my custom bom balloons by default. I found the setting default_bom_balloon_type but when I create a new drawing from my format I get the "message Default BOM balloon symbol XXX is not present in the drawing. Creating BOM balloons of 'Simple' type instead." Does anyone know how to solve that? I tried putting my custom bom balloon symbol in several different folders but it does not look like CREO searches for it. It looks it has to be embedded in the drawing. Any ideas? Thanks.
How to get the Default origin for those specific 'User Defined-Symbols' which has custom origin?
Hello together, since we change from Wildfire 4 to Creo 4 i have a problem with color in assemblys when i using "save as" to create a new assembly. The assemblys are generic and family based. A lot of the integrated parts are also generic and family based. Example:asm_genreric (with instances e.g. "asm_1" and "asm_2")--part_red (generic with instances "part_red_1" and "part_red_2")--part_blue (non generic) All parts are colored (red / blue) before they are inserted in the assembly. The color should be always the same.No color assignment is made in the assembly! When I open a instance assembly e.g. "asm_1" with the part instance "part_red_1" and using "save as" and openthe new created assembly the "part_red_1" is no longer red and have the standard Creo color. The non-generic part "part_blue" is blue. I try this with Creo 4 and Creo 6 (new standard installation) and the system colors. With standard material assignment and without. In both cases I have the problem, that the instance parts
