Hello Community, right now I'm trying to compose a thermal Model which I want to model using a symmetric boundary condition. I've read about thermal symmetric boundary condtions in the Documentation for Simulate 5.0 but can't seem to find it in 6.0? Was it taken out? Is there a workaround? Thanks in advance 🙂 SNC
Hi All, I would like to get the Outer contour of a Sheet body which is an IGES file imported into Creo. I have to get this information using Pro/Toolkit. Kindly suggest a solution. The boundary line shown in RED is what is required. Regards, -Vijay
Creo 4.0 M090 I'm doing some 3-axis milling, simple 2D arc and line motions, and standard pecking drill cycles, etc. A strange thing is happening, apparently due to the part models involved. Here's a brief rundown of what I did. A. Added reference model and workpiece. B. Defined some milling sequences for those two parts. C. NC-Check works fine, shows me a simulation of the material removal. D. Added another reference model and its workpiece. Basically the next stage of manufacture of the part and the results of the previous steps. E. Defined a milling sequence and some drilling cycles for the two new parts. F. Now, NC-Check gives the message in the subject line above, not only for these new cycles and the operation containing them, but also for the previously completed sequences (in steps A and B). So, the question is, what in the world have I done wrong? I've had this problem with specific sequences when I've had a cutter that is too small, or when there is a difference in acc
I have a general view on the drawing, scale is set to custom. in the relations of the model I calculate the approx. scale and set it to a param. SC1. then i set that param to the scale of the view. The model is used as a template - there are different sizes of the actual product, but the drawings are mostly the same. The problem is that when i work on the model further and i want to manually fine-tune the scale, it sometimes jumps back to the value, preset by a param, when i regen the drawing. This happens only on some drawings, on most it stays set to the value i manually input (when i override the set value). it doesn't help if i delete the equations and parameters. when i paste them again into the model relations, it happens again. anyone has any idea?
hello people i have a question i draw a part screw_p2319024 it is posible to make same name in drawing name without type on keyboard same name? i want when creating drawing file that have the same name as part of Automated is posible the drawing have name screw_p2319024
to all How does one get the IpfcTransform3D for a part in an assy The basic program loops though the assy and I'd like to get the property Position. I am try to "hack" the vbapi example ' pfcAssembliesExamples' to no avail Can any help? Thanks
It's possible to save by default, the columns configuration of the Simplify Representation windows View Manager > Simp Rep > Redefine > Settings > Columns > More... Thank's
Is there a way to have the value of the model annotations visible next to its name and type? I'm on Creo 4.0 M030
We have just recently got familiar with External Simplified Representations in order to keep our upper assemblies clean and free from orientations, cross sections and simplified representations that are mainly created for the drawings. External Simplified Representations offer a solution to organize each rep, orientation, ... specifically for each drawing. And that's a good thing. In our assemblies, especially lower level sub assemblies, we have created user defined simplified representations where smaller parts are excluded, general parts are in geometry representation and even some parts are in a specific representation excluding complex features. That saves us quite some time when defining a simplified representation of higher level assemblies, where you can re-use the simplified representations available on lower level assemblies. We noticed however that when defining an External Simplified Representation, you cannot reuse the lwoer level user defined simplified representations. I'm working with an assembly. One of the piece parts of the assembly has sketched letters on it for electrical component call outs. I'm trying to get the sketched letters to only show up on certain views in my drawing, but when I use the layers tab and pick that specific view to hide the sketched letters in. It updates all of the drawing views with that part in it. Is this happening because I sketched the letters at the part level instead of the assembly level and now they are always associated with that part whether it's on a layer or not? Any help is appreciated as I've looked through YouTube videos and in these message boards and haven't found anything helpful, yet. This is my first time posting so if you need more info or anything please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help/direction.
Hello, To prevent display lag in AR on the HoloLens, I often need reduce the number of polygons (facets) of a particular model. When I load the final PVZ into Vuforia Studio I always run the CAD optimizer, but sometimes this still results in too many polygons. So before exporting as a PVZ from Creo Parametric, I replace especially complex parts (lots of curves) with STL copies. When I export a part as an STL I can adjust the parameters to create a very fine detailed mesh of polygons, or a very low quality where all of the round geometry is represented by squares. I would like to preserve the geometry of round items so that they have at least 6 or more sides (not 4) -- however I want to simplify the rest of the part much more dramatically. Is there a trick to get the best of both worlds? One time consuming method to do this is to extrude a polygon (6 or more sides) in the place of every circle (whether adding or subtracting material) -- this prevents exporting to STL from
Are there any good tricks to using the measure tool in Creo View 4.1? It does not seem to work like Creo Parametric... First impression... it's pretty awful...
Hi, I have a drawing which consists of referenced models which in turn contains the datum references. i found some API's related to datum references ProDrawingSetDatumTagIsShown() ProDrawingSetdatumtagVisit() the documentation states it requires special license, can these API's be used to check missing datum references of the models ? regards, Sekar
Hi, are there any API's to check whether the BomBalloons in the existing drawings have references missing ? thanks and regards, Sekar
Hi, are there any API's to check if the opened drawing is up-to-date without any outdated parts ? Regards, Hisham
Hi , Most of the APi's i have seen are related to balloon creation (ProBomBalloon) i have a existing drawing with balloons created.is there a way we can get the quantity of the specific balloon ? thanks, Sekar
I would like to use the selection "DRILL_DEPTH" as a criteria but it is not available in the parameter list.Currently it is not possible to add parameters yourself. The parameters listed in the 'rule: parameter' list box are system defined parameters.
Hi, I get a graph result on one of the edges of a beam, it looks like this. Since the point on the graph is kind of random, I'm curious how does the Creo Simulate picks the points that are shown to me? Is the maximum point I see in this graph has to be the maximum stress along the whole curve? Thanks!
UI for data output offers some new improvements in SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0: Name of Operation Exports will be named like selected operation by default. All operations of electrode assembly can be exported in a row without changing the name. Output by Simplified Representation In addition to export by operation or selected electrodes, users can now also select a simplified representation for export. Simplified representations could be added for repair, new electrodes necessary through design change or gate electrodes. Operations from SMARTElectrode 7.0 Allow import and output of operation sub-assemblies from SMARTElectrode 7.0. A new operation has to be defined if new electrodes should be added.
With the release of SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 some improvements in geometry selection are also available. In detail these are: New selection tool "Tool tip" Integration of the shape-based selection filters from "Flexible Modeling Extension" New arrangement of the commands in the "Selection" group Learn more about the new Selection Tools for Electrodes: Here you can find a step by step introduction: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/new-selection-tools-for-electrodes/ Availability Starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 all improvements for selections are available in all electrode assemblies.
In SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0, size and position can be changed dynamically after selecting the geometry. Application of dynamic editing After selecting the surfaces for manufacturing, the definition of the cutout can begin using the command. The respective selected coordinate or dimension is highlighted in the object window. When the “Dynamic Drag” button is pressed, drag elements are displayed that can be moved by holding down the left mouse button. The size and position are adjusted directly. The cutout is created with “OK”. Already created cutouts can be redefined later in this way. This function allows a more flexible use of the cutout feature in SMARTElectrode. Find more about the dynamic editing of Cutout Features: Here you can find a step by step introduction: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/dynamic-editing-of-cutout-features/ Availability From version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 on, the dynamic editing of the cutouts is av
With the new version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0, workpiece dimensions can now be created automatically. Find out more about it: Here you can find a step by step instruction: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/add-workiece-dimensions-automatically/ Availablity Workpiece dimensions can be added to drawing configuration starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0.
Starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 it is possible to interactively define the start positions of the electrodes for the eroding process in a separate user interface. The definition of start positions is always necessary if data has to be transferred to erosion machines. Find out more about the new User Interface: Read more about the new User Interface: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/new-user-interface-start-position/ Availability This new feature is available for all electrode assemblies starting with version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0.
With the new release SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0, the import of old or third-party electrodes has been improved. There are a number of reasons why third-party electrodes have to be declared in electrode assemblies from SMARTElectrode. Find out more about the improved Workflow in this Video: Or find more information here: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/improved-workflow-for-import-of-third-party-electrodes/ Availability This features is supported for all electrode assemblies starting with version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0.
From SMARTElectrode 12.0.1.3 on it is possible to change the zero points of the electrode assembly interactively in Creo Parametric. Two methods are now available for editing Redefinition using the user interface Interactive change in Creo Parametric Interactive change in Creo Parametric With the direct change, either the referenced coordinate system or the zero point can be redefined directly. In both cases SMARTElectrode automatically detects the change of the zero point definition and updates the position data of the electrodes accordingly. The following video shows the usage of the improvement in detail: And if you want more informations: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2019/11/18/automatic-update-when-operation-zero-is-changed/
