Hi, I've created a steel mast using a pattern of the inner tubes: In the drawing I've dimensioned the first pattern like that: &P343:3 * @D And it works perfectly: But I also want dimensions to show up between the other Patterned tubes (1000mm, 1000mm, 1000mm, 1000mm). Maybe someone knows how I can create the other 4 dimensions ? It should automatically update, when the number of the pattern (5 times) changes. Thanks a lot, Maik
hello, I know this has been discussed in several different posts and elsewhere online but I haven't been able to find a working solution. I have several drawings where the mass is not updating. I am using &PRO_MP_MASS[.2] to indicate the parts mass. I have the mass_property_calculate set to automatic. I have tried recalculating the mass properties with file > prepare > model properties > mass properties > calculate > generate report, then regenerating the part and the drawing. The mass properties report gives the correct mass. But the mass will not update on the drawing. I've tried updating my format, ect and nothing has worked. Am I missing something? Is there a better way to call mass properties to a drawing? I have been able to get the mass to update on some parts/drawings but not others. thanks
Hello everyone! In Java OTK, a feature can be accessed by its name (1), number (2), or ID (3): Accessing via a number is not a good option. What's the best way to access using a name or ID?If using ID, please tell me how is it better to implement it?Is there any other better method? Thanks in advance! Respectfully!
Hello, when generating a hole table with MARK_COS enabled. Creo 6 crashes. Don't you know what I'm doing? Thanks
Hi, I have created a 10mm thick plate that has to be screwed onto four linear guide bearings. In the IFX-Diaglog I selected the face of the drilling and the front and back-face of the plate. Then I selected the screw that I want to use. After that IFX asks me, if I want to create a single screw or if I want to insert the screw on all instances. I selected "insert on all instances", but the screws are only added to one of the four bearings(4 of 16 screws). When I try to use the "reuse"-command its not possible to select the face of the drillings of the other bearings. To create the other screws I created four new screws for every bearing. It works, but its not very nice to change the size of the screws, because I have make a change four times (for every single bearing). Is it possible to add all the screws to all four bearings with one feature? Maybe someone knows a better solution ? Thanks, Maik
Hi:I installed Creo Elements/Pro School Edition in my computer, but comes with chiness language. Is any one can help me to switch to English?RegardsLimei
I would like to create a Mapkey that will select a specific Plane. Is there a way to do it without using the mouse? The Plane is not always in the same place in the Model Tree. Thanks
I think this is a neat enhancement in Creo. With Creo 6.0, the appearance of Model Tree can now be controlled. You can define the width of the model tree - add columns and keep the Model Tree column at the default width or the width you set... You can also reset, import/export settings, etc. Continue reading here - https://wp.me/p8enkj-gA
I've been reading and searching what I can am I'm just not getting it! I have about 10 users of CREO. No windchill. But I want everyone to use the IFX fasteners. I want everyone to pull from the server. And I want to make the IFX fasteners be named our company standard fastener names and part numbers. Can anyone give me a run down on how to get this ball rolling?
We use Freestyle in Creo alongside TSplines in Rhino5 and Fusion360. In general, Freestyle is better in many areas, but there are a couple where TSplines wins. 1. When you split a control mesh face to add more capability for local editing the behaviour in Creo and TSplines is very different. In Creo, it immediately changes the shape. In TSplines it retains the existing shape. This is a crucial difference. Imagine you are carefully sculpting your form, are happy with it but decide you need a bit more localised control. In Creo, adding this changes the shape, so requiring you to try to backtrack to remake the form. In Tsplines the new control gets added so you can continue to tweak safe in the knowledge that your work up to that point is unaffected. This is a serious issue for us and probably our number1 annoyance with Freestyle. 2. Symmetry..TSpline symmetry can be applied at any stage and allows many planes of symmetry. Freestyle symmetry, we find, has to be done very car
I created a dimension in a drawing, say it's symbol name is add92. I need to create a relation using this dimension, say newadd92=add92*.01. When I do this I receive an error message stating add92 is an invalid symbol. What am I doing wrong?
I'm looking for a good, short, to the point, Creo Elements Direct Demo video. I'd like to show it to my manager... Surely there is a good demo video out there... I just have not found it yet. Thanks
So I'm brand new to Creo and am having a hard time with some basic functions. It seems like every time I create a sketch, it displays in green when the sketch is selected but then is hidden when not selected. Is that normal? I'm following a youtube video on how to wrap a sketch onto a curved surface and after I wrap the sketch, the sketch is hidden. That part i get, since its consumed by the wrap feature. The problem is, now the wrap feature is only visible when selected. So when I go to project the wrapped curves, the curves are not visible. A solution would be great, but also if someone can point me to and explanation of how working with sketches in creo should be approached, that would help me understand what is going on. Thanks, Rob
We have enhanced the usage of setting the SURFACE, AXIS and ORIENT values to your 'Fastener Data File' *.dat. In the past you have to enter all ID pairs for all listed fastener in your *.dat file. Now you can do following: Add a name to SURFACE, AXIS and ORIENT instead of item ids. Add columns #SURACE, #AXIS and #ORIENT to control item ids of each fastener instance The advantages are: Use one name instead of different item ids. Easier to customize, more intuitive and clearer. More flexibility – different ids for each instance in your Fastener Data File Example 1: Before: SURFACE 29 12 128 296 AXIS 10 8 117 24 After: SURFACE PLACEMENT_SURFACE AXIS PLACEMENT_AXIS Example 2: Before: SURFACE 29 12 128 296 75 ... AXIS 10 8 117 24 12 ... Aftern: SYMBOL DN ... #SURFACE #AXIS ... FASTENER1 10 29 12 FASTENER2 10 12 8 FASTENER3 10 128 117 ... This new functiona
We use Creo 4 with Windchill 11. If I want to change the file of a CAD part or assembly do I need all the upstream assemblies open or in session? In the past we were told that by not doing this the connection to the file would "break" and our upstream models would either not open or open with the downstream part/assembly missing. Example: CAD_1.asm is used on CAD_2.asm. If I change the file name of CAD_1.asm (IE: CAD_11.asm) do I need to have CAD_2.asm open/ in session to keep the relationship or will Windchill push the updated file name the next time I open CAD_2.asm?
Chart tool replaces Graph tool starting with Creo Parametric 6.0 release. Chart tool has more options and provides more control over the chart settings. Chart-Tool can be used to view and customize different types of graphs. Once the graph is displayed, the graph can be changed for border colors, fonts, background colors, etc. Continue reading...
In Creo Parametric 6.0, the Datum point feature is enhanced. A constraint option is added to the datum point feature to project a datum point, a vertex or a curve endpoint onto a planar surface,...... Continue reading
My assembly has family table instances with varying lengths and quantities. When I create my drawing BOM it lists all the instances together in one row using the generic part number and combining the quantities. How do I list the instances and their respective quantities separately? Also I have another part that is an instance in the assembly four times, the BOM lists the quantity as 4, which is correct, but it shows the generic part number. How do I get the BOM to list the instance part number?
I have some existing parts and assemblies that I want to convert from Y-Up coordinate system to Z-Up using a Mapkey. Any suggestions?
I've got a skeleton that I'd like to manually place in an assembly, is it possible? Normal behavior: A true skeleton part assembles itself like you've selected "default" constraints and it shows up near the top of the model tree. I'd like to assemble the skeleton in another position, for instance: skel_cs to alternate_cs. Observation: Once the skeleton is in the assembly I've tried to redefine the placement but the normal redefine menu pick isn't available.
Hi, I am using EMX 12.0.0.0 when i am run the macro file it gives the error Can i use my own BOM format to run the macro..?? Is it possible to add the material in EMX Material Library & how..??? Please help.
I want to use creo simulation data in creo illustrate. any method to for that? any method to save simulation data files in format of .fra files or .xml?
Hi, I am using Creo 2.0 and I would like to know how hide cosmetic that not belong to the section. See the attachment. Thanks!!
We are about to switch from 5.0 to 6.0, during our software validation it was noticed that model tree settings will now be handled by the .ui file in place of the .cfg file. In the following section of the help center:Fundamentals > Working with the Model > Model Tree > About the Model Tree Settings in the section "Resetting the Model Tree Settings" in speaks of "Administrator Model Tree Settings", but I cannot seem to find this in the program, where can these settings be set? At the end of the day, I want to be able to customize the default model tree settings that all users start with, in past versions we did this with the .cfg file. Ant thoughts?
