Hello everyone. I am new in mechanical simulation and ProE. Now, I've been searching a basic simulation tutorial. Could anyone offer documents or others for beginner?Thank you in advance.
I am trying to pay for a PTC Learning class but they have refused to contact me to allow me to pay fr the class. The class is Monday. Has anyone else had this much trouble arranging a class?
PTC University Expert Model Analysis 2.4 was released on December 15, 2015. This is a small release that allows PTC University to enable, disable or limit features in XMA Desktop via the license file allocated to customers. With this ability, we'll be introducing a new lower cost variant of XMA Desktop in the next few weeks. What’s new in XMA 2.4: Existing XMA Desktop licenses issued prior to the 2.4 release will work as they did in XMA 2.3; enabling all features available at the time of XMA 2.4. New XMA customers may purchase a lower cost license with some features disabled and/or a limit on the number of files that may be scanned per scan. Users can query the XMA Desktop features they are licensed to use by looking at the feature configuration information in the About PTC University XMA Desktop dialog. This can be accessed by selecting Help > About PTC University XMA. If you have any questions or feedback about this release, please don't h
Hi,I'm looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable in 5 Axis mill-turning area in Creo 3.0Any recommendation ?
I have recently got a DIY 3D printer and I have been using Freecad but I read that Creo was a better free cad since it was parametric. I have been trying the free trial software with youtube tutorials and I like what I see so far. I have been working on this tutorial, Creo 2 Tutorial - Name Tag with Text on a Curve - YouTube .However, I do not have the tame text tool as the tutorial, or at least I do not know where the find it. The only text tool I have found is in the one shown in the picture below. Is there anyway I could wrap text around the edge of my model?
Hi All,I’m having a bit of a hard time with this. I seem to have a singularity, and I can’t get away from it. I’ve done a few simple models akin to what I’d expect here at work, and each seem to have convergence issues. I’ve tried various methods, but it’s always there. My Von Mises graph is always rising, although some to a lesser degree, always rising.Today I’m attempting the ‘connecting rod’ model from the ‘Toogood’ book, Creo Simulate Tutorial. Of numerous analyses run, my singularities are always one of the two points highlighted. No matter how I try to isolate these corners/points, I can’t get convergence. I’ve tried multiple attempts at excluded edges & points and re-entrant corners. I’ve even been playing with mesh sizes.. Nothing seems to correct, or lessen the convergence rise. Mind you, I am getting better at knowing what to turn off, what to turn on, and what / how that affects the results.I’m currently playing with the geometry, and adding rounds to the 90° edges. Whil
Is a there a detail tutorial somewhere that demonstrates how to use program effectively?
I just started using creo 2.0 lathe environment. no training provided so depending on tutorials and youtube for help. need tutorials on how to create turn, thread and groove sequences. need to know about tool libraries. need to know where to look for tutorials. anybody out there willing to help out a newbie?
How can my colleague become a new E-learning user ?
Let me start by saying I am essentially self-taught when it comes to simulate. I have no training aside from a few examples on SolidWorks back in college (six years ago). I understand the mathematical concepts of FEA, but my practical knowledge has proven to be frustratingly lacking. So please forgive me if I am unable to frame my question properly in technical terms.I am doing an analysis on a lifting device designed to retrieve and replace large tools from shelves. It is basically a "hook" to reach into the shelf to grab the tools using a hoist. So far, I have only attempted static analysis. Is that sufficient? Do I need to do a more complex analysis? If so, that's a whole other can of worms for a later discussion. My immediate problem is a huge discrepancy between stress and displacement in my static analysis. You can see my method and results via the attached screen captures.Stress looks good - well under yield strength. The displacement is another story. Where am I going wrong? Are

ProE has been the tool of choice for us for many years. Due to our IT, we are still stuck in Windchill 9.1 Creo/Element (AKA WF5). We are getting pressure from various R&D and some thru acquisition that want to start supporting Solidworks. We have folks that are importing Solidworks files into ProE so that can load into our Windchill. This issue has been brewing and I don't think by saying you have to use ProE is going to solve this.I am sure I am not the only one who is facing this problem. Our IT told us that we will not be moving to Windchill 10.X/Creo X by the end of next year at the earliest. Therefore I am stuck in this environment where people are doing their own thing anyway.1) We have one supplier that will use ProE (Creo 3) but that does us no good.2) companies that we acquired, will not stop to learn ProE when most of their existing designs are done in Solidworks.3) Unite Technology would be nice to support muti-CAD environment but we
HI, I have a problem with learning connector with Creo Parametric 3.0. When I start the learning connector, nothing comes up except the empty window frame for learning connector. What can I do to get this work? Rebooting - Doesn't work Refreshing the window - Doesn't work Changing Internet Explorer Privacy settings - Doesn't work
Look at the photo below - It's a group of PTC's ThingWorx customers who had taken a training class in Munich a few months ago. The tall guy in the back is Ian, one of our PTC University instructors for IoT technology. The picture was shared with us by one of the students afterwards. I guess it is safe to say they had a good time and left our training center with the positive feeling of having learned a lot about ThingWorx. Now, the reason I am writing to you today is, I want to see more of those happy faces! Chances for this to happen are good as we are offering a variety of IoT classes in our standard course schedule. On top of this, there is another great opportunity coming up in November: PTC LiveWorx Europe in Stuttgart. On Monday, November 16 - the day before the actual conference starts - we are offering two 4-hour introductory classes to ThingWorx. These are targeted at people with no prior experience with the software and will give them an overview of Thin

In the first parts of this series, I talked about the value of having a Learning & Adoption Strategy in place early and discussing the questions of WHO and WHERE we should be informing and training. In today’s blog, I would like to take a close look at the learning and adoption timeline, the milestones, and discuss these in the context of the overarching implementation project plan. WHEN should we run our information and motivation campaigns and our trainings? In the past we have seen that implementation project plans have often been created without considering the learning and adoption work stream properly. Or, if a training work stream was considered, only generic tasks like “training” are added not aligned to other project work streams. It is important to consider Learning & Adoption tasks and milestones in the overall project plan right from the beginning. It’s one of the major mistakes in project plans seeing the “training” tasks only related to end-users and considering the

In my previous articles, we talked about the value of having an early Learning & Adoption Strategy in place and the question of who shall be trained. In this part of my little Learning & Adoption series, we will take a closer look at the users’ sites as an influencing factor of your strategy: WHERE does our staff need to informed, trained and supported? While your Learning & Adoption Strategy is being defined, you already need to look into the required resources. This might surprise you, but one of the most critical resources we are dealing with in training projects are the training rooms. In previous projects, we have often seen that training rooms are not available where needed. Or, if available, the rooms are already booked for months in advance. Not to mention the technical equipment which is sometimes insufficient. Often, corporate training rooms use discharged computers from the offices – which are most likely not sufficient to support hands-on trainings or wor
Several of our users and myself included have recently started getting this error message when we try to view one of the tutorials from Learning Connnector. It tells us to download the latest Flash Player and I have done this several times and I'm still getting the error message. Has anybody else encountered this issue or have a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance, Mike Heath
i am a beginner, i want to work with smaller dimensions but when I enter dimensions like 2in. , the 2in. line appears micro whereas i have seen tutorial videos in which the display automatically zooms in when smaller lengths are entered. i am using CREO 3.0 M020 educational edition.
In my previous blog, we already talked about the value of having a Learning & Adoption Strategy in place early. Today, we will talk about the people we would like to address with our strategy. In other words: Who needs to be informed and trained? At the time when a Learning & Adoption Strategy is defined and the major decisions for end-user communication and training are taken, some essential information is not yet available, such as detailed role descriptions for end-users or named user lists. But for estimating the end user needs the user profiles and the expected training duration need to be taken into consideration. This is essential in order to provide enough budget and resources but not to over calculate – and waste time and money. For calculating the end user needs without knowing their detailed roles user clusters are being used in a Learning & Adoption Strategy: User Cluster “Light Users” Ca. 30% of all end users (example from PLM projec
I recently posted on Linked In about Flipping the Classroom in the Enterprise and included some of our academic team's tips for success. If you are not familiar with the flipped classroom trend, you can catch up with my post below: Flipping the Enterprise Classroom – What’s the Flipping Idea? | Adrian La Sala | LinkedIn With Precision LMS and Custom eLearning libraries, it's fairly easy to reuse/repurpose our out-of-the-box content to flip the classroom. I was just curious if anyone in the community is flipping their enterprise classroom using Precision LMS eLearning, or perhaps in another way?
Just wondering if anybody can point me in the direction of a training course on PTC's LMS or anywhere else for showing/creating 3D model annotations. I understand the basics but would to know if there is training material available. Thank you. Regards, Neal
In practice it´s often seen that project plans, governance structures and even ROI calculations (Return on Investment) focus on hard facts, such as software cost, process benefits, implementation and customization efforts and rather neglect the “soft” topic of user adoption. So many projects initially do not consider the full efforts required for getting the users up to speed, and – likewise important – to get their buy-in for the new solution in order to avoid unnecessary downtime before and after the go-live which heavily impacts the expected value. Adding additional budget in the late project phases usually forces project managers to save effort and budget in other ways or limit adoption budgets to the minimum which heavily adds risks to the project success. In addition, important project milestones need to be moved out if the needs for user training are not considered early enough. This could even result in a delay of the go-live. Here are some reasons why
