Hi everyone, I'm curious if Creo Parametric supports hiding datum points based on the orientation of a solid body to the current display view. In short, if I have a field of datum points on one side of a solid body, then rotate the solid body such that the body would occlude my vision of those points - could Creo be configured to hide those points? The reason I would like this functionality, is that it can help with visual orientation of the part. Consider the image below - I have a feature of datum points one side of the part.Orientation 1Currently, if I rotate to the part to the orientation shown in the next image below, I will still see the datum points.Ideally, I want is shown in the final image below, which will hide the points when I rotate to a view where the points would be hidden (like the smiley face sketch). (NOTE: I'm currently disabling the display of all datum points in this image). If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you all.

Hello, ProGtoldataPlacementGet is deprecated in Creo 9 and it says that it was superseded by ProGtolAttachGet. One of the fields that ProGtoldataPlacementGet would retrieve is the ProGtolPlacementType which is the field that I need. Is there another way to get the ProGtolPlacementType, or do I have to convert the switch cases I have over to the ProGtolAttachType instead? Thanks,Mark

hi, We need to upgrade the project implemented with CP3.0&VS2012 to CP6.0&VS2017.   For migration, the VS2017 project was configured and built in the same way as the existing VS2012 project properties.At first, an error stating that protk_dll.lib could not be found occurred, so the input value of the linker was changed to protk_dll_NU.lib.Numerous LNK2019s occur after the change.   I am attaching the project file, thank you for your help.   P.S.Create a project by moving the protoolkit folder that comes with the CP6.0 installation to D:\Users\header\C6.0.For the difference, the project built in VS2012 is also attached.The difference between the two projects is the referenced linker and C/C++ paths (C6.0 and C3.0), and the input protk_dll and protk_dll_NU of the linker properties.

Hello.Im trying to set up the drawing templates for SmartELECTRODE, but I've got some difficulties I hope someone can help me with. The problem is when trying to add EDM positions to the drawing, using a custom (repeat region) table, it will add positions of ALL electrodes, where I only want to add the positions of the electrode on the current drawing (I've chosen option "One sheet per model"). My template looks like this: TemplateAnd this is the result:ResultAnd its funny because if I add my custom table (which I've saved as a .tbl file) after the drawing is the created by SmartELECTRODE, this is what I get:Table added manually (correct)Another "weird" thing, there's probably a reason, is that when using the table from the original drawing template (see picture), Table template in ASM_EDM standard drawingthe correct values will be added to the table. (see picture)Result using standard drawing table.Also when this is fixed (if it possible) I'd like to merge the "ASM_EDM" draw

Every time I first get onto the windchill server in Creo and am connected to a Windchill server, the authentication dialog (genlwsc.exe) opens behind the active window as shown with its icon blinking yellow. Any solutions for this???   The current 'solution' https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS303945, is to manually select it which isn't a solution.   Thanks.  

Hello, ProGtolDatumReferencesGet(datumRef, &basic_datum, &basic_matcond, &compound_datum,&compound_matcond) has been deprecated and changed to ProGtolDatumReferencesGet(gtol, &primary_datum,&secondary_datum,&tertiary_datum). I am trying to figure out how to get the compound datum out of the new function, but after searching through the TestGtol.c, I learned that the sample otk only contains information on how to retrieve the basic datum from this function and not the compound datum. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you,Mark

so when we create a datum and the a gtol the two associate in creo the problem though is if they are both on different view states in the model the association doesn't show. Is there a way to i click a gtol in one state and have the datum from another show. if it not can i have a note or something pop up telling the person where which state the datum exists in?

Using VB API with Creo 5 and as mentioned in the help file, I have set the configuration option regen_failure_handling to resolve_mode in the Creo Parametric session. Even after that solid.Regenerate(Nothing) does not regenerate the model. [EDIT]: Subsequently I created an object of type CpfcRegenInstructions and passed it to the Regenerate method as an argument, but the following line says "Class not registered":Dim creoRegenIns As CpfcRegenInstructions = New CpfcRegenInstructions ForceRegen, RefreshModelTree, UpdateInstances, and AllowFixUI are all set to True. Is there any solution to this?Thank you. ~Tushar

with the VB API on Creo 5 I am using model.Erase()followed bywindow.Close() But the window remains open, though the model is erased.Is there a solution for this? Q: What is the equivalent API for 'Erase not Displayed'? I also tried window.Clear()but that was of no use. Regards,~Tushar

Hello,I created an new Format file (.frm) and added there some parameters-links (via Note and &XXXX) with I want to automatically updated from the Main model parameters.But when I load this Format to my drawing of the model the parameters do not update.Anyone can give me a hint how to update the parameter-links in the format file according the 3D model parameters?

When editing or creating an assembly it is annoying that when you edit the definition you have to have it below everything that you may want to constrain it with. Is there a way to disable it or when you select edit definition it automatically moves it to the end of the tree. No

Hello, I am currently trying to update an old Toolkit script from Creo 5 to 9, and a couple functions,(ProGtoldataFreeStateGet, ProGtoldataDiameterGet etc.) were updated to ProGtolValueStringGet. I was looking at this article Article - CS280972 - How to use ProGtolSymbolStringGet and ProGtolValueStringSet to replace deprecated Creo Toolkit API 4.0 and onward (ptc.com) for assistance, but I was unable to discern what the actual output of ProGtolValueStringGet would be. I tried printing it out to the console to figure it out, but I also could not figure out how to get the otk_install.exe from the otk_install.sln that I am running the scripts on, to print it out. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you,Mark Hardebeck

While creating a new part in creo, it's automatically taking prt001. Is there any way to make a unqiue customized name while creating a part, Right now we are trying to implementing this on IPEM creo where its integrated to Teamcenter.

Hi All, I am new to Creo VB API, recently installed it with Creo version 7.0.9.0. I am trying out the example Async_Mode_Example.xls in folder C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 7.0.9.0\Common Files\vbapi\vbapi_examples. But when I open the file, provide the path to parametric.exe file and click on 'Run Async' button, a dialog box pops up with the following message - Process Failed : Unknown error occured.Error No: -2147352567Error: pfcExceptions::XToolkitNotFound I checked that that the 'PRO_DIRECTORY' and 'PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE' variables are set correctly. I am not sure how to start nmsd executable. I just opened a creo parametric session and tried again but same error. Please help with this issue. Snapshot attached. Thanks,Apoorva
