I would like to hear from anyone using Windchill to store and or release their CNC files.What you are using to push the CNC file to the machines?Did you create an API or use an existing one?

I am using Creo 2.0 M110 and Windchill PDMLink 10.2 M020.   I recently found that I have some old models in my library of thousands of models with very low accuracy which is causing problems in downstream manufacturing operations. I want to run a batch process to update the files per the below steps, but I don't know how to approach this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Find the Creo models (.prt files only) with low accuracy in the Windchill database. Check out the files with low accuracy. Open and change the accuracy to .0001 ABSOLUTE ACCURACY. Save and check back in all the files.   Also, I need to run a report of all the .prt files in Windchill that have a sheet metal YFactor = .25. I'm in the process of developing a thread milling process but I am not getting the correct tool path.  I need a single pass tool path but I'm not able to find the right parameter combination to get single pass. I currently use Creo for our machining software. We have three HMC's and the software works well. We are about to purchase a Vertical Turret Lathe with machining capabilities.Will Creo support or work for this type of machine? Hello!   I´m an engineer student and doing my final thesis on Creo Parametric 2.0. To be more specific, i´m researching different ways of using pictures or vector graphics as a stencil for extrusions and forward to .dfx for laser cutting etc. manufacturing.   The main idea is this:   I download a "dog face" from google, place it in a plane in Creo Parametric and draw the lines with splice tool etc. That is kind of slow, crappy and the results are very inaccurate in my opinion. There must be other easier ways to recognize the shapes of pictures or vector graphics etc....?   My purpose is to find out different ways of doing this, test the ways, report my findings and do a tutorial of some sort.   I´d be very happy if I could receive some user experiences of similar situations from more experienced Creo users so I could test them myself and use them in my report.   Have a nice springtime! -EeroThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management

I've found that when using Finishing operations that its outputting almost exclusively points instead of arcs (I's and j's) and its making my files massive when its not necessary. This happens even with simple shapes like round posts and holes. The Parameter "Circ_interpolation" is set to "Arc_Only". Is there something I'm missing here? I am trying to use auto cutline in Creo 2 to mill a few hemispherical pockets with a ball end mill. I've used the auto cutline before on similar recessed pockets and it usually goes well.The problem I see in this feature is that there is no way to specify the CW or CCW direction of the cutter as it helicals into the pocket. If it defaults to the way I want to go (climb milling) things go fine. If it produces an upcutting tool path, there seems to be no way to change it.For today's project, an internal hemispherical pocket, it wants to helical CW from the top with the spindle specd at CW (upcut). Hi,Can anyone tell me the difference between .ncl and .tap files please

I usually make Mill Volumes and Mill Surfaces to create my own sequences to rough out a part rather than make use of the Mill Window based Roughing / Re-Roughing Sequences that Creo seems geared toward. That is how I've been taught how to program and have been steered away from using the latter options. It seems safe and usually predictable. I am curious to know how others feel about the Roughing / Re-Roughing method of getting the job done. It looks to me like it could potentially save a lot of time, but the re-rough tool paths seem very unpredictable. Need help setting up a custom drill cycle for thru spindle coolant drills in a VMC. I will be spotting the holes 2xD with short drill first. After the holes are spotted this is what I am looking to do:Enter hole at a lower rpm (around 300rpm)Turn TSC ONRamp spindle speed to desired RPMDrill HoleReturn to origanal starting pointRamp RPM back downTurn TSC OFFgo to next holeCustom drill cycle seem like the way to go to do this just not familar with them and the daocumentation is lacking to say the least. We drill anywhere from 100 to over a thousand holes in one block. I have been able to use normal drill cycles for the shorter drill but when using 15D or 20 D drills they will snap if the tip is not supported in the hole when ramping up to proper spindle RPM. I might want to try a different variation where the TSC coolant stays on the entire time instead of on/off for every hole. I will say that I do not program everyday but trying to utilize the machine and tooling to their potential. Th

Folks,I'd like to change the lead-in radius when rough-milling. The cutter chatters because the radius is too small so I'd like to increase it. I've looked all over the place and cannot find any way to change it. Does any one know how to do this? Every time I open Creo Prismatic and want to use the Multisurface Milling Extension I have to go into the options menu, refresh the licenses, and select the correct license. I have had limited expirence using this 3rd party addon within Gibbs Cam but i was wondering if anyone had tried integrating it with NC manufacturing.
