When I am creating a toolpath that is going to be a subroutine I need to have the tool return to the start of the toolpath.I can create points when no cutter comp is used but when I use cutter comp I am not sure the best way to acheive this.What would be the best way to return the tool to the start when using cutter comp?Thank YouThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I would like to switch my milling center to metric but all of the programs we have created and use over the last 10 years are in inch. Is there a easy change that i can use to output older inch based programs to metric? I'm currently running WF5 and using Pro/NC every day. I'm beginning to develop quite a lot of tools files (both xml and models for solid tools) in my toolcrib directory. As far as I know, Pro can only save tool files (xml) back to a single directory (which is how mine is set up currently). What I am after is a way for Pro to automatically sort my tool files into subdirectories (which I have already created) within my toolcrib directory, based on the filename or other manner. I know I can do this with third party software that will monitor direcories and perform file moves, etc. when it sees a new file that matches cetain criteria. However, I find it hard to believe that Pro wouldn't already have similar functionality already built in. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I've noticed that on some programs the gouge check done on a program in W5 shows gouges where Vericut doesn't. If I gouge check the sequnces I have no gouges. So my question is on what can I count on: Vericut or W5?

dear all.i got an experience in few wek ago.I have 1 ProE 3D model file, i gave the name : base.prt. And i saved in folder "A".Then i make new 3D model on new sheet in folder "B", and i gave the name : base.prt. I just copied the base.prt from folder "A" to base.prt in folder "B" with Merge/inheritance command, after that i applied a shrinkage command.After that, i did "save a copy" the base.prt in folder "B" to be base_reff.prt still inside in folder "B".Just "save a copy", there was no any add command, so the history between base.prt & base_reff.prt is absolutelly same.then i continued use this base_reff.prt as mold Part and i did spliting to make core-cave.but ufortunatelly, i after i check the properties in base_reff.prt, this file already got 2 times shrinkage.although i double check the history of command in base_reff.prt is same with base.prtregardsJoko PThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Has anyone tried out this new sequence? Was this implemented from pro toolmaker? I have found it to be usefull and pretty solid for finish those hard to get areas.

I am running ProductView 9.1 Pro on a client machine and trying to setup watermarks for Review state document but how do I create the watermark file?, it is asking for a *.ini file and my reseller has told me I can do it all from client side. All,I am new to machining in more than 3 axis andneed help setting up a roughing and finishingsequence to machine the area shown in the PDF file. I would like to rough the groove down the center using a flat end mill in several cuts and then finish each wall at full depth. I am using Creo 1.0 and the machine is a Mazak Variaxis 630. A STEP file is also attached. I am testing the post for Mori Seiki 5-axis machine.In 3-axis cutting (X-Y-Z) it works perfect.When it comes for 5-axis simultaneous cutting then I get a big headache.Though the rotary -C- axis and the swiveling -B- axis are translatedcorrect,-X-Y-Z- is not.-Z- axis has got wrong depth, -X- and -Y- should be reversed.The -X- should be -Y- and vice versa when a 5 axis movement takes place. -- Wrong code-G0X-103.066Y-60.B45.C-90.G1Z-26.891Y60. -Right Code-G0X55.Y53.536Z-1.464B45.C-90.G1X-55. I don't know if anyone knew this parameter that i discovered this morning while trying to get the tool to stop retracting between passes. But it does stop the retracts while trajectory milling a profile.This seems to allow you to use lead in and out and move to the next cut without a retract in trajectory milling!!I didn't think it was possible.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Since when could we reference a roughing sequence from a diffrent operation (diffrent orientation even) for a re-roughing? I remember not being able to do this but I just tried it for a goof today and it worked! So am I remembering incorrectly?

We do all of our domestic-based documentation (i.e. drawings) following ASME standards. We are starting to come across scenarios though where we need parts manufactured in Eastern Europe and they generally use ISO. In some ways these standards are very different (e.g. tolerancing). We also have a new Engineering center in the region, and those employees would rather work in ISO, which would make it difficult for us to pass work back and forth, as will be needed.One idea is that for a drawing that needs to be design, reviewed and manufacturing in both ASME and ISO regions of the world we would create both an ASME and ISO drawing for the same model.
