Is there any European Mold Designers out there? We do a lot of work for German companies here in the United Sates and rumor has it that in European Mold designers supply their own computers and software. Is that right? Here we go again.I have finaly convinced the powers that be that my current laptop is severely hurting productivity. They have their checkbook in hand and are ready to get me what I want (need). The only restrictions I have (unless I have good justification) are that it be a Dell with largest possible screen running windows 7, 64 bit. Hello Pro Users,I am looking for a font to use in Pro/E that is appropriate for simple milling into tooling such that it has a constant thinckness and rounded ends to each letter, number or symbol. Arial Rounded is the closest one I have found so far, but am looking for something much better. If available I would also like to have control over the character thickness too. If no such font is available what are any suggestions for creating something? I have never used Pro/Program, so don't know if that would accomodate creating a custom font for this?Mark A. Hello everybody, I need to stamp the current date on the drawings printed to the Océ Plotter TDS700.Pro/Engineer printing procedure is configured to generate a plt file and the to call LPR program to do the actual printing. The plotter manual suggest to the command STAMP as an option of the /Job Ticket/ sent to the plotter. But I cannot understand what they mean... Folks,I was recently given a snazzy new computer to use here at work. After getting settled in, I have noticed a strange new behavior that I don't know how to fix. Used to be, when I added a new component to my assemblies with a mate or align constraint, Pro/E would by default assign a "COINCIDENT" condition to that constraint. Now, it defaults to "OFFSET" and I have to go in and manually select "coincident." I'm sure this is controlled by a config.pro option or something. All,I would like to know which type of tool path would allow the Z axis to advance as the tool profiles around the inside of a window. I am trying to get rid of tool retracts that happen for each depth of cut. I am running WF5 m060 on a Lenovo W510 Portable Workstation, which is a PTC certified machine. I am running Windows 7. It' s a new machine Dec 2010.My screen res is 1920 x 1080.I am having a font problem wherein the choices in some of my pull down menus are spaced out too much. This makes the menu longer than it otherwise would be. This is especially problematic for the EDIT menu, which has the most choices. It's so long that it extends well past my screen height. This means I have to scroll up and down to see all the menu choices within the EDIT menu.Has anyone seen this before and have a clue as to the problem?I have tried setting fonts_size to small, but all this does is shrink the fonts, but the extra large space between each menu item is maintained, so the menu doesn't actually get any shorter.I have the same screen res at my work desktop and have no issues with the menu item spacing.Questions:What font does Pro/E use natively? Okay Folks....here's the scoop. According to my good friend Iain lewis of PTC in the UK, Dynamic Sectioning is INDEED a reality in Creo (didn't ask if that includes WF5 early versions). I guess Iain may chime in on that one.The Dynamic Edit functionalty is the key driver behind Dynamic Sectioning in Creo. I am wondering what is the best technique for mirroring a toolpath with same cutting conditions. We machine alot of mirror parts that are too large to machine parent at the same time. We need to keep all cutting conditions the same. upcuts, climb cuts and also with surface milling. If we mirror the steps u cannot suppress parents. Hi folks,I'd like to hear from you what you think about the removal of the CL Preview Window in WF5. We are deeply missing this functionality and I'd like to hear from other people in the same situation. IMHO PTC removed the programmer ground because now he has to back-and-forth all the timeto playpath the sequence in order to see the sintax of the CL file, to see if he placed the command in the right location.Thoughts?Daniel

Hello,I am interested to know how you and your colleagues approach the division oflabour between Design Engineers and Draughtsmen.If, for example, a Design Engineer models a part that has to fit into anassembly at a compound angle, he will model the part so that the compoundangle is included in the model somehow.Or it may be that a certain area of ashaft has to have aspecific hardness, whilst the remainder is not critical.Imagine, however, that the model is subsequently sent out to a sub-contractcompany for production of manufacturing drawings.
