I have enormous number of .xmcd files needed to be converted to .mcdx. Inside most of them there are links to each other. Considering nested structure of my files and the fact that you can not choose the whole folder for nested convertion in built-in MathCAD Prime Converter I need to automate at least filling Converter with list of files. Would be even better - to make the whole process fully automatic. Have someone done this before? Is there any API for the Converter? Nothing like that was found by me in the PTC support database 😞There is some kind of workaround - to generate multiple paths to files relative to the root folder and join them with " "`s but resulting string is far too long to be accepted by the FilePickupDialog of the Converter. Too many files needed to be converted.
Currently using, Prime 9.0.0.0. In ANY version, is there a way to have a simple database query like return "weight" from "AISC Shapes.xlsx" where "Name" = "C10x15.3"? Or workaround? Is it possible with the tables you can create in Mathcad? I can create the table if need be.Thank you in advance.
When installing 14.0 I get a message saying this is an upgrade and to enter the old serial number. I had 7.0 and the s/n was PU02802D00549 which it does not accept. I still have the 7.0 CD, I put it in the DVD drive and provided the path but it can't read it. I had this same problem in 2017 and it was a ridiculous pain in the butt then, I shouldn't still be going through this aggravation. Fix it already sheesh.
I use the student version of PTC prime 9.0 on my office computer (windows). Primarily I remote in from my Macbook, but periodically I receive the issue:Cannot checkout an uncounted license within a Windows Terminal Services guest session. Is there a way to solve this issue remotely? As a student I don't have support phone service
When i want to register and have free mathcad trial there is written that can reached maximum number of licens. I have this program on my PC and i wanted the same program on my laptop. Why cant i have same program on other device?
I am a longtime mathcad user who purchased a permanent license for Mathcad prime 3.1 many years ago.I am in the midst of replacing my old win 10 computer, with a new one running win 11. Before I begin the task of reinstalling mathcad 3.1 and getting the licensing software to work, I am wondering if version 3.1 will run under win 11.?As a retired person, I cannot justify the cost of getting the latest version of Mathcad, so if my version won’t work, I’ll just install the express version. thanks mike
As per the original post. Hey! I tried this to open a Prime 9 document in Prime 7 and didn't work. Do you have a solution for these two too?
I have attached a copy of my calculation in which I am getting an error for my i term. Shown below is the error I am getting when I try to run the calculation. I am using Mathcad Prime 7.
So basically I'm recreating a calculation based on an example done in Mathcad 15 (I only have a PDF of that example). I've gone through all the math and finally got a plot working, but the results aren't coming out as expected. I'm afraid that something in Mathcad 15 works differently from how it does in Prime, but I don't know what it might be. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Hello! I have a system of equations with units. when I use lsolve, I get different answers (all incorrect) depending on the units used. however, the solve block works correctly. This is Prime 7. sheet attached. Any ideas? maybe a bug in lsolve? correct result:
Buenas tardes, estoy intentando programar para calcular el acero requerido por el método de iteracion, tengo dudas con el operador while, por favor si alguien. el archivo esta en Mathcad Prime 8.0.0.0 me puede orientar.
I'm following the attached example design, but I can't tell what function/tool in Mathcad they're using. I understand the purpose of the section and what values it should return, I'm just not sure how to make Mathcad do it. It kind of looks like a programming block, but it doesn't have the bar on the right and it isn't formatted the same inside. What's tripping me up is that the value if "x" isn't constant, it's variable so I can't use simple if/else programming. I only have the file in PDF format.
HiI've just got an assignment in school, where I've to determine the design factor 'z' to a given failure probability. This baisically means that I have to find the lowest value of beta (vector containing of u values) that in combination with design parameter z gives an failure function which is equal to zero.Want to make a loop which can check for all values of z in the interval of 1 and 7. Is that possible?
Hello, I am trying to program the following with some tweaks to fit my problem.I am pretty new to MathCad Prime and I am running into some problems with verifying my array index in step 2.1. Please help! Thanks!
I have a cheat sheet of beam equation, all expressed as functions of variables such as w, P, l, etc. The challenge arises when I apply it to compute load combinations, as the beam equation becomes visually convoluted. A reviewer would only see a series of functions, necessitating them to backtrack through calculations to identify the specific function in use. An alternative is to redefine my input variables (w, P, l, etc.) and directly solve the beam formula without using functions, essentially copying the equation. However, this becomes cumbersome due to the need to clear variables for each subsequent equation. Is there a method to explicitly solve my functions and revert them to the original equation?
Hi Everyone, Any chance anyone has an idea why I am getting odd units? I did the exponent by hand below just to check and it comes up with 1 like it should. Thanks in advance!formula:Exponent check: Version: PTC Mathcad Prime Express 9.0.0.0
Hello Community, I have the following task to solve and i dont know how to do it. I guess its just possible with programming well maybe someone can help me.In the attached sheet i have a pooling problema optimization.Could anybody help me to find coding to solve pooling problem optimization using Mathcad? Thanks in advance GreetingsCarlosRomero
Again I need help dealing with symbolic arithmetic in MC14. In the German mathematical school magazine "Alpha", issue 2/1993, I found reference to a strange sentence. In the limit towards 0 it concerns the ratio of the area of a curve segment to the area of a connected tangent triangle. Proving this theorem for special curves whose functional equation is known is not difficult. But the theorem applies to arbitrary, often continuously differentiable, curves. The associated proof in the original work involves a lot of writing work. I would like to understand this using the symbolic calculation in MC14. I have attached a “test file” for this purpose. Unfortunately my calculation fails because of the MC message that terms are becoming too large. Maybe I made mistakes too. But the calculation method is easy to describe. I ask you to check whether MC14 can do the calculations symbolically.Kind regards, Alfred Flaßhaar
Hello! I am struggling a bit with the symbolic representation of some complex problems. Please, take a look at the attached file. How can I properly define complex function on form z=r*e^(i*phi)? Should I write z(r,phi)=r*e^(i*phi)? If I do so, then the symbolic evaluation of complex potentials (Phi and Psi) doesn't get along. Also, I am trying to use Re and Im functions to define the real and Imaginary parts of "z" without any success. The same goes to the conjugate of "z": it should be z*=r*e^(-i*phi).Hopefully somebody can help me out. UPDATE:I did some progress, but still can't define properly function "z" without Mathcad telling that some variable is undefined. Updated sheet is attached. Best regards, Sergey
Hi,The partner sent me the mathcad 14/15. I try to converter to mathcad 8 prime but failed"This worksheet contains 4 locked collapsed areas. Locked collapsed areas are not supported in the current version of PTC Mathcad. You must unlock or expand areas before conversion."Please support to expand the areas or converter to Mathcad Prime 8 ThanksTuong
It is the site of the article Игра в кубики или Кривая n-го порядка и m точек Readers can see animations and download Mathcad-sheets in replies PS Sorry - it must be not a question but a blog. But now we have not blogs here!
Hello dear user, If it's possible can you provide the 3_2b Transformer Energization - Modeling in Mathcad file format or can I can change the file format? Thank you 🙂Original Topic link- https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Transformer-Energization/m-p/901885#M208702
I want to make pdfs from a large amount of Mathcad 15.0.0 files since my license is expiring and I only want to work on Mathcad prime. How exactly does it work with the Mathcad 15 API or where do I get it from. Best RegardsFlamur Bytyqi
