Mathcad

I wrote and attached a basic worksheet to demonstrate what I am trying to achieve. I can get the solution by defining each part one-by-one like you will see on the attached sheet, but that is going to be too tedious on my main worksheet. A program or other built in function would be ideal.  Thanks in advance for the help.

I converted the worksheet from Mathcad 15 to prime but somehow the genfit function is not working in Prime. Attached the error message.  I will not be able to upload the worksheet. Any suggestions would be appreciated 

Hi,I need help with using if statements with matrices. I don't think masking will help here since the code should be able to determine if the friction angle is 0 or not.  If anyone could help find a solution, I'd really appreciate it. It's great to see the symbolic engine being improved.  However, it would be nice to see a long-standing symbolic/numeric behavioural alignment problem fixed.   The numeric engine will iterate over a vector in a for loop but the symbolic engine does not, which requires workarounds that make the code more complex than need be.   For example,     Stuart  

Hi, This is probably my 2nd week of using mathcad and I've stumbled into a few difficulties. 1) Originally, I wanted to try to distinguish between granular and cohesive soils. For Fines content of less than 50%, this should be classified as granular while greater or equal to 50% must be classified as cohesive soils. I wasn't able to do this so I ended up getting the overburden and effective stresses by interpolating the unit weights. Can someone help write a code that can get the final effective stress by distinguishing whether it is granular or cohesive material?2) In the tab N60 Correction for Overburden Stress, the answers are wrong - I tried this using excel but I don't know why the results from the excel file are not similar to the mathcad file. Hope someone can help!

Is there anyone who can address this?On the other matter, I gave up, the academic license for Prime 7 costs toomuch for me. I will convert my Mathcad 15 .mcd files via Prime 3.0 (which Istill have), and then use Mathcad Express to do calculations.Anwar

I have been using Mathcad 15 for a long time, and have many programs in it. Now that it has been abandoned by the company, can I get a working copy or get an up to date license? I do not want to move to Prime, just to keep using my existing MathCad 15. 

HiI need to define the max. and min. values for different graphs using some simple functions,for example 1.2 times the max. computed X -value.This was possible with Mathcad 15, but is it somehow possible with Prime 7?What I have found so far, is that a user can only set max. and min. values manually, which is far from handy... Also "Trace" option is missing from Prime... As attached is a screen shot from Mathcad15 to illustrate what I mean.

I've been trying to get to grips with odesolve, but I keep getting the error "too few initial conditions"As far as I can see I have two equations to solve and two initial conditions - could someone help me work out what I'm missing please?  

HiAfter converting some Mathcad 15 sheets to Prime 7, I noted that all subscripts in texts were converted to plain text font. There are some text editing tools in Prime 7, but I think possibility of usage of subscripts and superscripts in texts is must. I really hope these font options will be possible in near future... Or have I missed some way to get these font options working in Prime 7? As attached is a screenshot from Mathcad 15 where these font types were available.  

HiWith Mathcad 15 it was possible to illustrate a vector in a small table with a sliderbar attached.This was very handy to see all the values, but with Prime I can only see the top part of a vector and I'm not able to scroll down the vector at all... Is there some simple way to illustrate a vector similarly as in Mathcad 15?As attached is a figure showing what I mean...

Does anyone know how to avoid that a xmcd-file is displayed by the browser (as XML) rather than opened with Mathcad when clicked on in a browser window.Its especially annyoing when I use the webinterface of a mailer instead of a dedicated program like Thunderbird or Outlook.The effect is there in any browser but it seems not to be a Windows installation issue as the extension is correct registered in Windows with Mathcad and double clicking a xmcd-file works as expected in opening the file with Mathcad.This behaviour is rather annoying as I am forced to save that file to disk and open it from there. Asking people to send files in xmcdz or even mcd format has proven not to work really good 😉In FF under extra/options/applications I can see the entry "Mathcad-document (application/x-mathcad-xmcd)" but whatever I set the desired action to (ask, open with Mathcad,..) the reaction is the same - Firefox displays the file as XML as do Chrome, IE and Opera.

Need just simple way to view xmcd files, I do not need to edit or nothin else just view, is there any way to do this, IE, Excel etc...

Hi Guys I am a civil engineering student and completly new to mathcad. I wanted to do the example 3-3 (solve differential equations with a solve block). I did it exactly as shown in the task but I always get the error that the variable is not defined. I have no idea what I am doing wrong and would be grateful if somebady could help me. Greetings

Hi I'm looking to solve an equation using the symbolic solve function and then reassign the value to a variable.However, Mathcad doesn't seem to like the equation.I'm assuming im using the wrong solver? Ive managed to do it in excel and now have a value of a at 572mm using the GRG solver.Can anybody point me in the right direction in how to do this in mathcad ? Thanks in advance Ross

This implies using Mathcad as a tool for interpreting electrical impedance data of semiconductor diodes. Hello, let´s say I have two arrays with the same length. Also I have a function which wants to do further calculations with the arrays. I need some kind of trick where I can ignore the first element of A and B. I tried a for-loop from k = 1 to length(B) but no... doesnt work this way.     I expect a result array like this with 5-1 = 4 elements (first row deleted).In best case I need all the array manipulations within the function C.  Thanks

About 10 years I wrote some code that used a couple of lists in a mathcad sheet.  I tried to cut and paste for my new task but it's all just gibberish to me now and my code doesn't work.  Can someone help me figure out how to do this.  The attached sheet has the code and hopefully my intent is clear enough to start with.

I am using Prime 7.0.0.0 with Windows 10 Pro.When documenting my I generally put a small math region declaring and defining a variable/parameter on the left and a text region/block on the right describing the variable/parameter.  I generally have several of these one after another. When I save the document the regions get rearranged.  Regions are moved towards the top of the page so that they overlap previous regions.   This mostly happens early in the document - mostly on the first page but sometimes extending into the second page. This happens on a regular basis in different documents and takes a lot of work to undo. Is this a known issue?  Does anyone else have this problem?  Am I doing something improper that causes this to happen?
