Hi, Given the recent posts on the forum, I was curious to try and drive a mass, spring, damper system using a square wave. Luc posted an interesting solution for creating a square wave. There are decent quick sheets for mass, spring, damper systems in Mathcad 15. So I just combined the two things. I did have to modify the square wave definition some. The state space solver is faster and more robust. However, using odesolve provides a check. Working with each solver is different. The examples help show how to work with each solver. The examples allow you to see what happens when you use a square wave instead of a cosine wave. Also, what happens when the square wave duty cycle changes. You can see that traditional ode solutions don't match reality. I've seen this before as well. The classic text book solutions are limited in a number of ways. Also, thanks to the other forum members who helped me create these examples. I couldn't have did it without their help.
is there a way to convert the odesolve output to a matrix, so that the max and min can be found. apparently the odesolve output is a function. i attached a worksheet. i want to convert t and x to matrices.
I need to linearly interpolate from a table, which I attached with some examples.I appreciate any help... Thanks a lot!
I have solved the Problem of Malfatti circles with Prime 6 or Mathcad 15 - see pls attach Can you solve it more sort, more nice 😉
"You are a three-dimensional being, and your shadow is two - dimensional. This means that you are most likely the shadow of a four-dimensional being!"Is it a new type of diagramm - not a triangle, but a Tetrahedron diagram How can we plot it in Mathcad? See please the Mathcad 15 sheet in attach! The edges of a tetrahedron are a function of one argument with a maximum, the sides of a tetrahedron are a function of two arguments with a maximum, and the interior of a tetrahedron is a function of three arguments with a maximum" Etc Tetraeder diagram
I am encountering a problem wherein the resolution of the plotted points in the chart component is too low. I made a manual range of 0 to 0.1 to see the sine wave more clearly. I tried looking at all the settings in the chart component but nothing seems to work.
Hello, Hello everyone, I have a very simple question. I solved an integration and I was unable to generate a table with the data of that integration. I send my file here. Can anyone help me? Thank you
Trying to solve a systems of 3 equations with 3 unknowns by means of SOLVE BLOCK and MINERR function. (or find). It doesn't provide any error message but it seems not to calculate any root; it simply provides the three guessed values as the results without running any iteration.
Hello, I am trying to solve a series of two first order ODEs, the ODEs are a function of time but also include a piecewise temperature component that varies with time. I believed at first this is what was breaking the solver but when I make the temperature constant the solver remains broken. Can anyone see where my mistake is? I am thinking it is most likely the constants and/or initial conditions. Thanks for any help that can be provided.
Hi i make a new calculus for free fall with linear friction i can see the theory , but i have difficult to talking to Prime 😅 and chart! i have this: But i can't make a chart !!! unit problem I think in the same way the evaluation of the limit does not give the expected result
Hello, Can someone help me with this? I want to translate some Matlab code into Mathcad 15. Thanks.
hi, i've never used symbolics before and i'm having a bit of trouble. i attached the worksheet in question. i'm trying to solve for v1 and v2. however, u1 and u2 are also coming out of the Find function. i think i'm missing something. thanks, anthony
I'm doing a simple calculation as shown in the picture attached. E has units of psi F has units of in A = (EF^3)/12 A should have units of lb*in, but Mathcad gives it the unit of (lb*ft^2)/(s^2) Why is this happening?
Hello Dear Friends,1) How long or how many years from now do you think that Mathcad 15 (not Mathcad Prime) can still be used?2) And how long do you think that Mathcad Prime will outperform Mathcad 15 in terms of functionality and performance?Thank you.Best regards.
Does Prime 7 have the mathcad functionality: of check boxes etc as Mathcad 15?
hi, i'm still having problems trying to work with the output of the state space solver. it might be something simple, but i've been going in circles all day. the first problem is the plots look a lot closer than the table output. the second problem is there is a lot of error compared to the odesolve output. it's pretty easy to work with the odesolve output. the state space output has been giving me problems for days. basically, i'm trying to compute velocity, acceleration, and kinetic energy from the state space output. the velocity doesn't match compared to what the solver outputs as the last column of the solution matrix. the acceleration doesn't seem to match either. i'm not sure why, when i plot it, it looks like it is matching. but if i look at the output in tables it's way off. i attached two files. the odesolve one seems to be fine. the state space file has been kicking my butt. thanks, anthony
Where exactly is this "Options list" ?
Why is n taken as length(y)-1 rather than simply the length of y? In both Mathcad 15 and Prime 6, sometimes this seems to result in throwing away one observation. E.g., in the Prime 6 example, there are 12 observations, but only 11 show up on the plot.
Moving to Mathcad Prime is challenging Can someone help me with how to call excel data using drop down menus as we used to do in real Mathcad Also, can I make drop down menu reference excel data or to insert equations?
Hello everybody. I have a problem for solving this equation in the first image using Math cad prime's solve block and the find function I have instead solutions this question mark. The 2nd image shows the solution of this exercise in Math cad 15; I am stuck trying to find the same solution as image 2 in Math cad prime. Thank you for your answers
I am facing a problem and can't figure out what is going on. I have seen previous posts on the community but not able to grasp the concept of vectors. Please, someone, explain the difference in clear terms so that nothing remains ambiguous. The first problem is I am trying to return two vectors in a 1x2 vector. This means it will be a nested vector. I have seen some posts where it is done but when I try to do it, it gives the dimension of a vector rather than the vector itself. Of course, the problems resolve when I use the augment command but I want to know why it is not printing the vector. In the below figure (obtain from the community) the D shows the vector elements but when I try to display it again, it display the size of the vector 😫 Similarly, the second problem is that when I try to plot vectors it says, "These array elements must be scalar. They cannot be vectors or matrices". But when I search the community there were examples where these plots were made. So, I am confuse
My MathCad document stopped working with this error message, and I cannot get it working again. I have attached the document here, and a picture of the error message. What can I do to make it work again?
For a project (designing a log splitter) at school I am now working with Mathcad for the first time. However, I am now running into some problems. Maybe it's something really silly but I can't manage to solve two unknown variables from two equations. On the internet it is done with the find() function, but for me it doesn't work. Each time the 'find' function will output the follow: Find(Ay, By) --> Find(Ay, By) where Ay and By are the unknown values. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. All variables and other text is in Dutch but this should not be a problem as it only concerns page 3. thank you in advance! Dennis,
Hello Everyone. From: Thanks in advance for your time and help. Best Regards.
