Mathcad

I'm trying to create a calc where the answer is a design factor. The calc works fine when just using numbers, but when I try to use a value from earlier in the sheet I get the 'units are not compatible message'. Would appreciate any help on this, thanks.

As most of the more experienced users of this board will recall, I am a very long-time user of Mathcad (I think it goes back to Mathcad 4!). You may also recall my significant reluctance to use and/or deploy Mathcad Prime...of any version to date, for the countless reasons we've all shared here. Even given this history, I am to a point where the topic has arisen within my division & company to consider deployment of Mathcad Prime ("Why haven't we moved to the newest version?"). Through all of this, I have given kudos to PTC for a number of advantages from newer features within the Prime family (yes there are some very nice capabilities we don't have in v15). Because of the continued, significant need to keep a foot heavily planted in Mathcad v15 world along with now a desire to begin considering a migration to (or inclusion of) Prime, I'd like to know if anybody has deployed BOTH codes to their community. Hello, I am struggling in implementing a problem that  implements Newton's method to solve a system of two non-linear equations: 𝑥^4−𝑦𝑥^3=1 6cos(𝑥+1)−𝑦=2 I am trying to implement  𝑥^(𝑛+1)=𝑥^(𝑛)−𝐽(𝑥(𝑛))−1∙𝐹(𝑥^(𝑛))with 𝐽(𝑥^(𝑛))^−1is the evaluation of the inverse of the Jacobian matrix and 𝐹(𝑥(𝑛))is the output of the equations. I have done most of the iteration work I believe in the function but I am stuck on how to manipulate the values to come up with the intersection points of these two functions.   Here is my code:

I am a wxMaxima user and shifted to Mathcad recently on the suggestion of my friend. I am testing the software and am being amazed by the easiness. But I found its symbolic engine not up to the mark (let's delay this discussion for some other post). Currently, I am testing the plotting feature of Mathcad. It has become my habit to test every new software I use with these commands just to see the beauty of math and the power of that software.  I am not able to figure out the way from the online help available about this topic and therefore am asking in this community forum.   The first animated plot that I want to create is of a spring moving. Hi.   I work for a small employer and the company only has Mathcad 15. I'd like to be able to go back and forth using the same file between the version of mathcad I have at work and the version I'm considering to purchase for my personal home use.   Can mathcad 15 files work with mathcad prime 6.0 and vice versa?    Can mathcad 15 still be purchased individually from reliable sources?   Thanks!    

To all In mcad Roark's e-book 6th edition there is a worksheet to calculate the stress concentration (case 17b). I just noted that the constants to calculate the values for C1, etc are different to the ones in the latest book (Petersons 3rd edition) 1. Am I correct? 2. I cannot find a 1974 copy 1st edition (I guess!)  which appear to be the reference used. Has anyone got access and could confirm? 3. Is it the same in the latest ebook which I think is based on Roark's 7th edition but as far as I can tell in the printed Roark's 7th edition the numbers are from the 1974 edition too   Thanks Regards

Hi, I have problem with printing name (types inner inserts) from tables (values picture). I have 2 values which are not in tables: N.Ed=31kN and V.Ed=35kN and then analogues/relatives values from tables N.Rd and V.Rd in columns. So i need to print all names from (vakuankkuri) column which are meet the conditions:  ~N.Rd>N.Ed/2 and V.Rd>V.Ed/2   I have already ideas with matrix (picture matrix tables) but don't know how to solve this problem by right programming/looping. Hello, dear Mathcad community!    A am working on a suspension kinematics problem and I am trying to solve the nonlinear system of 18 equations with 18 unknowns. I have tried to solve it using the solve block, but I have an error that underlines the whole Find(...) function and says: "This value must be a function". Can you please help me to figure out the problem? I am kind of new to Mathcad and I was trying to do everything like in tutorials 😃

Dear all,   i would like to evaluate an imported matrix from excel. My Prime 3.0 sheet is attached.   Basically what I have: I create a lookup table in mathcad where every row represents a  component, in this case a MOSFET. Every column represents the corresponding parameters of the component. I can evaluate row by row with any equation. By doing this I can obtain for example as a result an array, for example an array with the calculated losses for each MOSFET. So far so good.   What I need: Now I need some kind of programming or searching command in mathcad, where I can find all the indicies of lets say an for which a special searching condition = true.   For example my result array:   Losses = [100mW, 100mW, 70mW, 80mW, 100mW]   The goal is to find all indizies where Losses < 100mW = true .   Now the imported excel matrix can be quite large and confusing. With the indizies, which were obtained before, I want to edit the imported excel matrix

Hi, I am new in Mathcad with a little experience. I would like to learn about the Scriptable objects in Mathcad 15. I hope it will not only help me to learn the automation but also sharpen my Mathcad skills. Zip file is attached.    I was working some simple calculations and I could not get the units for "fiu" to come out correctly.    Since this is for a spring, the units should be "lb/in". But instead, MathCAD keeps populating with "lb/s^2".    I have re-worked it several times and still get the same incorrect units in MathCAD.    Not sure what I am doing wrong?   Your help is appreciated!

I am very new to Mathcad and am struggling to evaluate a formula. All help is appreciated.   The formula as written is:   =(1+0.5*sin 1.5 *77.1)   Where 1.5 is an exponent of sine.  

Anyone know how to get the coefficients out of the Bicubic2D function?  Or if you have a program that does the equivalent that would work for me.  I find myself needing to port the fit into excel and am finding I don't know how to do that. A 4.0 example attached but any example will work. Thanks,
