If Mathcad has gm not g it must has kgm not kg as units of massIt will be good to have in Prime g as a constant with unit m/s^2 and g as an unit of mass. Now we have
I'm trying to simplify 5 equations by substituting until I have one equation and just a few inputs. The symbolic result is extremely complex and could easily be simplified but no matter what I try, I can't get it to simplify or collect on terms. Further, when I later use the derived equation, the numerical value is incorrect. It is challenging to find where the error is occurring.Suggestions?thanks
Dear readers,I'm having a problem with MathCAD 15 to calculate forces. I need 15 variabels (Fay Fax Faz, Fby Fbx Fbz, Fcy Fcx Fcz, Fdy Fdx Fdz, Fmmpy Fmmpx Fmmpz) and had 21 formulas. I red somewhere that it had to be 15 formulaes for 15 variables. So i managed to get rid of 6 formulas.Still undefined when i try to use the "find" function.Hope someone can help.Regards,Jeroen
For ease of asking this question I have a formulas solution is bound by upper and lower values but can be anywhere inbetween the upper and lower values. How can I write that as programming statement. So far this is what I have :If I were to change "x" variable to equal "1", the formulas solution (x/y) would equal "0.5", I would like the program to spit out that answer as well. Thanks for the help, hope to reciprocate sometime!
Unfortunately Mathcad 14 +15 won't start from the new SSD, which is used with Windows 10 64 bit. Prior they were running on HD with 32 Bit Windows. What to do?
I've been using Mathcad on and off for a year now and there is one thing I have been really interested to know. Is it possible to give Mathcad for example an algeba or other problem and have it solve the problem, and show you how the problem is solved? For example, I have been looking at the following in one of my text books:ln(A)=ln(P)+rn The text book states that in simplified terms is: A=eP^rnIt took me a while to work out that this is achieved by:ln(A)=ln(P)+rnIn(A)-In(P)=rnln(A/P)=rnA/P=e^rnA=Pe^rnHowever I am first interested to know if Mathcad could have simplified this for me and more interested If Mathcad would show the steps to get to the simplified version?Cheers,Andy.
Hi,Sorry about the messed up previous post.I have a function with six parametters that generates a spectrum with 1024 points. When I supply a single value for all the six parameters, it generates a valid spectrum that I can plot and examine. one of the arguments is standoff distance, I want to get spectra at different standoff distances. Therefore, I supplied distance parameter as a range variable thinking that all calculations for one distance will be repeated for other distance values. The function output has correct number of spectra, each with 1024 points. But the spectral values are all the same, Can someone help me understand what is going on? I have pasted below a screenshot of values. Thanks,Arjun
I'm not sure how to formulate this in MC. I want to have a function calculate area. However, this area calculation has a minimize procedure built in to find the angle that minimizes the area. So, a flow area is a function of valve stroke and this angle that results from the stroke. Easy enough when I define stroke length:But when I want everything as a function of stroke I can't get anything to work. I'm after something like this, but making things of a function of Stroke and Beta causes problems. 3.1 files attachedHere's the paper if anyone anyone is interested or wants to visualize what I'm trying to do.Calculating Throttling Area | Pneumatics content from Machine DesignThanks,
I ask my students give correct answers in reports. One exampleBut I have seen in one German tram (constructed by good engineers) this tableWhy 229 places for stay - not 230? The street car will break with 230 men?In Mathcad Prime Minister we have
What can you say about this option in Mathcad PM (Prime Minister) partial and in programming general?
Hello all,I have a problem with the Fourier transform of one of the two dimensions by using the "for loop". I will be appreciated if anyone could help me with the problem. Please find the attachment. Thank you a lot!!
Hello All,Good Day!I have been working on a program to sort the the data. I've a big input data table with 'n' number of columns. I've my results in column 'n' and needs to print this column as output. But the problem is, this column has some duplicate values (same number is repeating more than once). So, before printing this column as output I want to remove all the duplicate values in that column and print only unique values. Could anyone please let me know if there is any option in Mathcad prime like in excel to remove the duplicate values. Since I didn't find any option, I tried to write a loop with my little programming knowledge and is not really working. Could someone please help me to resolve this. Thanks in advance!Regards,As
Hello, Everyone How to solve [tan(ln(x))]^2 = -1 ? Thanks in advance. Regards.

Hello,I encountered another problem in Mathcad 15. I want to calculate a definite integral of a matrix (to be more precise, Mathcad should automatically calculate a definite integral of each matrix entry). I am getting an error "this calculation does not converge to a solution". However, when I manually define the definite integral of each matrix entry, Mathcad 15 obtains the solution without a problem. In the attached example the matrix size is 2x2, however my calculations will deal with few dozens of matrices with sizes varying from 6x6 to 15x15 (user defined size). Obviously I want to avoid typing 36 or even 225 integrals manually. Does anyone know a solution to this problem or yet another Mathcad bug? Thank you in advance for your help. Best regardsRafal
HiWhat is the window function symbol to solve this formula by symbolic maththank you
I tried to access an E-book, specifically calculations and table data in:"About Electrical Power Systems EngineeringThe documents in this book carry out common design calculations from electrical power systems engineering..."The links in this E-book -- from the TOC, Index, and all pages in general -- do not work. I searched Help using "book", "e-book", and "E-books", but found no similar issue discussed. Is there a special technique or setting required to use these older E-books with Prime 3.1? Also, if there are any other "keyword(s)" I should try - I would appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance!Best regards,Michael O.
Hi, I'm defining a range variable L which goes from 20cm to 100cm with a step of 20cm. This "vector" has 5 rows, so i defined another range variable "k" which goes from 0 to 4. Then I define this time a real vector with one column and 5 rows, and manually insert L[0 + e , L[1 + e , ... and I defined this as a function of "e". This worked. BUT if i try to automatically create this vector, this doesn't work. I mean, I write : (R(e))[k := L[k + e , and the error "A Name is Required". The Program is attached. This is a simplified model of what i need to create. Because my real "k" doesn't go from 0 to 4, but from 0 to 1400 since my real L is much larger. But i can't write manually each row of the vector R(e). Someone knows how to fix it? Thanks in advance
Dear community members,we use Prime 3.0 for a couple of time. The majority of our calculation files are not that large (1 to 4 MB). But a file size larger than thatrequires a very long period of time to save and to close these files (up to 4 or 5 min). What is your experience? Now we discuss to change to Prime 3.1 to save time. Or is this also a problem in Prime 3.1?Thank you in advance!Best regardsDavid
Hello,I encountered a very strange problem in Mathcad 15. When I want to calculate a derivative symbolically that contains a natural logarithm the solution is wrong. I do not know why is it so. Attached you can find the Mathcad file.RegardsRafal
I need to be able to link to a specific tag in a Mathcad 14 document from Powerpoint. It is easy to link to a mathcad 14 file from powerpoint ( Insert->Hyperlink->(existing file or webpage) and the Mathcad worksheet opens correctly at the beginning of the document. However, I want Mathcad go directly to a specific tag - not the beginning of the document. . I can easily create the desired hyperlink from Mathcad sheet to Mathcad sheet (Insert hyperlink FileName #Tag) and I want the same capability to link from PowerPoint to Mathcad Tag. Please note that I do not wish to paste a selected section of mathcad into powerpoint as this creates a new copy of Mathcad that opens in a small window on the Powerpoint page. I want the whole sheet in its own window opened at the previously created tagAny help would be greatly appreciated
