Hi...As I want to assign variable values as per condition in Mathcad which have to continue for next calculation, I will explain detail by following example. As per Above example, I have assign values for variable ss, pp and Shaft_Type, So I have different values if my Shaft_Type is 1 or 2 ( Shaft_Type value will comes from Creo).and same values will be applicable to my rest of calculation i.e. if my Shaft_Type is 1 , ss=4 and pp=10, and if my Shaft_Type is 2. ss=5 and pp=12. and later on I want to do calculation by taking these ss and pp vaules. So please can you help me.Thanks,Prashant Pandarkar
Hello PTC community,I have recently been introduced to Mathcad 15, and understanding all the benefits of it, I got stacked in my first attempt of doing something. I have a simple excel file (attached also), which I wanted to use as a training on Matchad, translating the content. What i encounter is a conceptual problem. I have literally no clue how to approach those simple calculation in Matchad. Can you please give me a hand in what will be the best approach?I guess this is a typical issue for beginners, but I could not find in the helps files info about such a problem (maybe neither used to this PTC community website). Excuse me for maybe making too obvious questions. Thanks a lot in advance for all your help.
Hi,At our division at work we use Mathcad-15 for writing our technical reports and saving them to PDF. Then we print the PDFs to store in a physical archive. For archiving purposes every report contains the file path to allow someone to find the digital version of the report even on a printed copy.It looks something like this:"The digital copy of this report can be found here:"\\disk1\folder\subfolder\report.xmcdWe are now moving our digital copies to a new disk, let's call it "disk2".Hence, we need to change the files paths in all the reports to:\\disk2\folder\subfolder\report.xmcdWe also need to save all reports to PDF, after the file path has been updated.Since we have some 500 reports to update my question is if this is scriptable? Both changing the file path and saving as PDF.If so, can someone support us on how to do it?Best regards,Oskar
Hi ALL,i have a mathCAD sheet, in which a area is locked by other user and not visible for edit and review. Kindly help me to unlock the same.for Excel, VB number of unlock swares are available. is thr any software in same kind to so for MathCAD.?? Thanks,Vasanth.
I am still using MC v.11.x.From a matrix I needed to extract the eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and re-order them (starting from the eigenvalues) in a decreasing manner. Accordingly I needed to change column order to the eigenvectors, so they correspond to the new order of the eigenvalues. I used the function eigenvec(M,z) for this. Yet without success. The Figure I hope explains the problem, in its essence (there is no re-ordering here). It shows that the connected eigenvector to its eigenvalue (captured with "eigenvec" function), is not the same of the one that appears in the function "eigenvecs(M)".I understand (or to say better, I realized, see the Figure) that the same eigenvalue may have multiple eigenvectors. But now: 1. How can I extract the same eigenvector that appers in the "eigenvecs" function, by recalling its own eigenvalue? 2. And more in general, is there a way to see the multiplicity of eigenvectors connected to a giv

Hello, today i've tried to install Mathcad Prime Releases 3.0 and 3.1 under a new Installation of Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64. Both of them failed. Does someone know more about possible reasons for that Problem. Or is there already a Workaround for this problem?Kind regards, J. Dessecker
I like use Mathcad 15, and I know it will compatible with the Win8.1 and will be released this year. Does anyone know any information about the Mathcad 15 M040 releasing?
If I use Mathcad 15, I can define a variable such as "a:= .7 in" if I write this exact same thing in MathCad prime it will result in an error. I have to write "a:= 7 in" then come back and add the decimal place after it's accepted 7 inches. What am I doing wrong? This seems absurd and is incredibly frustrating.
One interesting optimization problem.Chain attached to two sides of the wall at the same height. What should be the chain length, to force to the attachment points was minimal?See below the numerical solution. Is it possible to full analytical solution?

See please here http://iopscience.iop.org/0143-0807/36/2/028001/pdf/0143-0807_36_2_028001.pdfabout this fine curve.
A little bit of experimentation shows that this effect occurs with a number of characters that have math representations (eg, / and +). Is this a known problem?Stuart
I've searched the other threads and most of them contain something about being on "maintenance", I don't really understand what that is or if I have access to it. I've tried upgrading my account but it was not sucessful. Basically I will soon lose access to the computer that I installed Prime 3.1 student license on and will have a work computer that I want to install it on. How do I do that?
HelloI've just downloaded the free trial Mathcad Express Prime 3.1 in order to check a script I recieved, but apparently the conversion function is only available in the full version. Is it possible to do the conversion elsewhere or just into pdf so I can see the script? The script is attached below.I would really appreciate any help I could get!Yours sincerelySvante W Monie
I have searched through the forms and tried to correct this error but to no avial. The last 2D plot is not working for some reason and I do not know why. I am using the express version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Beginners often fall into this Ward.We do not use here on paper the sign of multiplication and have this creazy error in Mathcad:
Hey I am trying to use VLOOKUP function to search a value....and I want the answer to be "0"... when an exact match is not found... suggest..how can we do it...
Original thread started here: (linear) interpolation if 3 ratios required?Had a look at the example kindly provided by Fred Kohlhepp but struggling with a couple of thingsI created a table of (real) data (well 3 sets of data anyway) (still too lazy..). Attached mcad sheetWhat is the purpose of Matrix 'Mx' in Fred's example?I can extract the data from the whole table but does one need to extract only the "lambda" (the final parameters based on ratios R1,R2,R3) for the interpolationThanksRegardsJXB
I'm wondering whether PTC has any intention in providing user-friendly features for updating and saving Mathcad files. There seem to be several file formats: mcd; xmcd; xmcdz; mcdx; and so on. And they are not all compatible and interchangeable. In reference to other good speadsheet program, Excel; although they have been upgraded though several versions of file formats, they still keep its compatibility and interchangeability with the old legacy version. For example, you still can save the latest Excel file format of XLSX to the old legacy of XLS.Why can't PTC do the same for new versions of Mathcad to help facilitate Mathcad customers to save the file to any formats: mcd; xmcd; mcdx; or whatever...Please advise...Manit
