Mathcad

Hi,It is not the first time I want to find solutions to the same equations with different parameters/inputs, but it is the first time I do with more than 2 or 3 (I usually just did copy and paste). So for the first time, I am really trying to get Mathcad to solve equations with vectors on the input and output (but all scalar operations).With what I did, Mathcad doesn't show any error, but the outputs are equal to the guess values, which seem to indicate that it doesn't work.Practically, I have a circuit with a RL series with another R in parallel (R // (R - L)). I have measured it at different frequencies, measured the impedance and phase angle, and I want to identify the unknown parameters (series R L ). All parameters may vary with frequency (in fact, they probably do !).Thanks

Hallo, kann man mit MathCAD Prime 3 Express die Seitenlayouts gestalten ?Ich finde lediglich die Möglichkeiten mit großen bzw. kleinen Kopf- und Fußzeilen. Ich möchte aber diese teilweise ausschalten können, weil die Seiten über PDF in andere Dokumente importiert werden sollen.Deshalb möchte ich auch gern die Fußzeile mit dem Wasserzeichen von MathCAD Prime Express ausschalten können.Geht das oder muß man dafür die Premium-Version kaufen ?Grüße, Gerd-Wilhelm

I used "if" to my work because I need to constraint.i.x) I have some data(CL, CD) each section "r=2.8667, 5.6....61.6333"These data are 8.(CL1,CD1.....CL8,CD8) when r are 2.8667,5.6 , CL1,CD1 is used.when r is 61.6333, CL8,CD8 is used.I used "if" to constraint so that data used each section.But It made my work slowly. So I want to change or improve so that it is fast.I attaced my files. Please help me. it spend long time....And I also want to review my work whether it is efficient about my work.

Hey there,I'm dealing with a problem concerning mass transfer at a porous solid sphere, suspended in a limited volume of water. I'm struggling to get the problem solved in MathCad. Perhaps has anyone an idea.The problem is as follows. A solid sphere is suspended in an agitated tank. Mass Transfer is unsteady and described with Fick's 2nd law within the sphere. The flux at the surface is transfered to the bulk liquid by convection. Diffusive and convective flux is coupled at the phase boundary.I tried to solve it by defining the mass balances in a solve block with pdesolve. Unfortunately there is an error concerning a mismatch of the initial conditions, which I cannot follow up. Actuallly I'm not sure if pdesolve is able to handle the problem. Hi All:I have been an avid MathCad user since I was introduce at work in 1988 (Hughes Aircraft Company) to MathCad version 3.0 on an Apple Macotosh.Since then, I have used various newer MathCad versions at work, which were just fine, once I got use to the new features ("bugs!").Although Hughes is now Raytheon Company, I continued using MathCad as my prime tool, while the company force me to use Matlab, which I am proficient but hate it.I retired from the aerospace industry in 2010; and was given an old copy of MathCad (CD Version 7) to use at home for hobby purposes.I was quite surprise to find an ad, where I could download a free MathCad from PTC (What happen to MathSoft?).I am practicing now with Prime 3.0; and, of course, it is a new learning curve to get use to the "features" (bugs!).A problem with Prime 3.0 is that it definitely requires I upgrade my computer system. I will send the present setup using PTC Quality Agent.My question: Is there a version for hobbyist (or retirees lik

Hi,I'm starting to use prime 3, mainly becuse I manipulate large files ( typically 100X100 arrays of nested 5000 elements vectors) and even using function for most of calculation Mathcad 15 ran quickly out of memory.No memory issue with prime but instead an incredible slowness in reading/writing files ( prn), a lot of pause in editing even if computing stopped . Also there is no autosave, and often crashes ( not responding) without any way to leverage Escape key.Issue are happening even if if memory and CPU is far from saturation.Combined with mediocre ergonomy on menu, por productivity overall..am i missing something be ( I admit I did not read help documents fully)Thanks for suggestion...JFG

Hallo,ich nutze MathCad Prime 3.0 und habe folgendes Problem:Ich definiere eine Variable und gebe ihr den Wert 1.1. Lasse ich mir nun die Variable ausgeben wird der Wert 1 angezeigt (bei eingestellter Anzeige von Nachkommastellen!). Auch bei Berechnungen (bspw. 0.5*Variable) kann er die 0.5 nicht verwerten und gibt 0 als Lösung aus. Tippe ich die Gleichung im folgenden Format ein ( (1/2)*Variable ) funktioniert die Berechnung problemlos.Bitte um Hilfe, ich komm mit dem Problem einfach nicht weiter. Danke und Gruß, Chris

hiGood day. I have 3 vectors, say L1, L2, L3. And now I want to get results for cross products of all possible combinations with two vectors (which is acctully L1xL2, L2xL3, L3xL1). How can I get it with programming or in a easy way avoiding making three formula seperately for three results. Is there any function which can do this circular loop or other easy ways.Best RegardsJahangir

I am sure that this question has been asked before but I have developed a program in MathCad Prime 3 that I would like to turn over to a programmer who works in MatcCad 15. The current plan is that he is going to add increased functionality to the program.I know that MathCad Prime 3 can upload MathCad 15 files but can MathCad Prime 3 files be converted back to MathCad 15 format?

I had been running Mathcad 11 on a XP machine. I would like to run it on a new laptop with a 64 bit windows 7 system. I tried various compatability modes with no success. The program seems to install but will not run. Is there a way to do this?

Hello there,Listen, I'm try to use a 3D function to describe a path of an ant in a surface.The surface rotate at 2*pi/ sec and the ant walks in line from center to away 1 cm/s. The surface is a circle with 1m radius.After all parametrizations, i have problem to draw it. (you can see document attached)This is the function that indicates the position of the ant dependent on time:Then I CreateMesh and this came:From 0 to 50, it should draw a spiral with 50 lines, or I'm I wrong? And how can i chose Step size in CreateMesh?I want like t:=0, 1, 2, 3 .. 100. How can i do that on CreateMesh?Regards,L. L.

Hi I am fairly new to mathcad and I'm having a problem creating a graph of an equation, which describes the transient behaviour of the torque generated by a moter during a fault condition. The datasheet where the equation comes from states that the maximum value (-295.4) occurs at t=0.016s and so I have been able to check that the equation is giving the correct answer for a single value of t.I now want to create a graph of the function, but when I try to do so, I get an error stating "Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaNs by real numbers".Can anyone tell me why this is going wrong? I am new to mathcad and I am just starting to play with simple problems first to learn the necessary interactions with the program to achieve desired goals. I am working on a very simple problem that starts as seen below. Life_Expectancy:=10yrCyclesPerYear:=21900cycles Total_Cycles:=Life_Expectancy*CyclesPerYear= With this mathcad can not compute the Total Cycles and does not display cycles as a unit. I have highlighted cycles and changed it to units to no avail. I have also tried changing the term cycles to wipes and iteration but neither worked. What am I missing to make this simple problem work? Thank you
