Mathcad

Hi all,I have a solve block function inside a program. The program iterates through an array, finding a solution for each element in the array. The problem is that the initial guess value does not work for all elements in the array. I would like to be able to use the previously calculated solution as the new guess value for the solve block. Is this possible?I can't post the whole sheet, but I've attached an extract which hopefully shows what I'm trying to do.Thanks

Hello All,My program receives models information from an Excel file and performs the calculations and returns some results as the outputs. when I run the program for large number of input models (300 models for example), the final result is different from individual calculation by the same program.I have repeated this several times. The results of individual calculations are always the same, the results of large number of models are always the same but they don't match.Is there something about Mathcad that I should consider for large number of calculation? or the problem is in the program itself?

I am building an updated wrapper of our library (www.coolprop.org) for MathCAD. My question is very simple. Am I allowed to include MCADINCL.H and mcaduser.lib in my source code repository according to the MathCAD license terms? I would rather not have to deal with finding the right path for these files at build time if it can be avoided. We use CMake, so it is possible to find the right path if needed.

We have previously built a MathCAD wrapper for the CoolProp (www.coolprop.org) library of fluid properties.I am rebuilding the wrapper for the new version of our library, and I was wondering what versions a custom function built for Prime 3.0 would be compatible with. Would it be compatible with MathCAD 15.0? Has the ABI changed since 15.0?

HiI have a main equation formed by a sub equation with two variables of interest (AA and BB), plus a third (D) that can not be cleared, so I solve by iteration with the help of the Given and Find commands. My question is whether it is possible to direct the main equation as a function of AA and BB, and according to the values ​​that take these, calculate the variable "D" per iteration. Attached is an example for clarity of the problem I have and what I want to do.Thank you

I tried searching the discussions for the answers but I was not able to find the complete answers.Please excuse me if I missed something. I would very much appreacite it if someone could help me with the following :1. We recently started using MathCad 15. We soon realized that we needed a 64 bit version of the tool.According to what I read, I understand that MathCad 15 cannot be invoked in 64 bit more. Is this correct ?2. To solve the problem above I installed Mathcad Prime 3 on the computer which also has Mathcad 15.Both versions presently coexist on this computer. I tried loading an xcmd file into Mathcad Prime 3 and got a message saying that I first had top convert the file to MCD format using the converter button on thethe Input/Output tab on the ribbon. Unfortunately, this tab is DISABLED (not highlighted) and so I cannot invoke it.I read in one discussion that for this to work, both Mathcad 15 and Mathcad Prime 3 ha

I need to fit data to a function with 5 variables and have Mathcad 15. The parameter estimation works fine with a solve block and Minerr in a straight program. However, when a define a subroutine for the parameter estimation I get an error in the subroutine. I need the subroutine to automate the fitting of a large set of data with Minerr() and the constraints. I wrote an initial program with genfit() that works for large data sets in an Excel file, but I need the constraints that can be used with Minerr() because genfit() gives occasionally physically impossible answers.2 files are attached, one with the solve block in the main program that works and another with the solve block in a subroutine that gives an error. There are no data to be fitted in the program because they are dynamically loaded from an Excel file. I would appeciate any help for solving my problem. I have not seen example files with solve blocks in a subroutine. Thanks. Ulrich

I have used hyperlinks extensively in Mathcad over the years, but when posting a URL to an internal wiki page I received the error message: "Invalid path or internet address" The URL address is of the form https://wiki.companyname.com/wiki/This_is_a_test That example is not a valid link, but just to show the link form. Why won't this URL work, and is there a way around it? We are planning on using such links extensively going forward.Thank you in advance for your help. Hi all,I have built a calculation sheet that is dependent on some rather large data tables. I have used the Insert > File Input method to reference these tables. This works fine for building the sheet, but once I distribute it to 100+ engineers, I feel like there will be an issue with having to lug around several data tables.I found a semi-solution on here that mentioned defining a variable, and copy-pasting the table there. However, this makes the data tables cumbersome. It's also messing up my vlookups.Is there a way I can integrate these tables into mathcad the same way one would with a insert > file input method, but without having to become dependent on external files? Perhaps there is a way I can integrate the data directly into my mathcad sheet?Thank you.-jw

Hello All,I am using "genfit" routine to fit my data to a modeled signal. The modeled signal in the attached worksheet is sp(k,b) where "k" is the variable and "b" is a set of coefficients.My first question is that : the output of the "genfit" does not perfectly match with the original data. Is there anything I could do to improve the results? (Except changing the guess values, because they are obtained from another section of the program)For the second question, the residual function highly depends on the variable "k" as is shown by the graph. Is it a normal behaviour?Thank you very much in advance

Hello everyone,I am using "loess" function to generate a regression curve for my experimental data. I understand that loess(vx,vy,span) returns a vector that includes the smoothed coordinates of vy and information of a set of 2nd order polynomials. I know I can use interp(vs,vx,vy,x) to get the interpolated y-value corresponding to x using the output vector vs from loess. However, I want to know the meaning of the values in the vector returned by loess, so that I can utilize the regression curve generated by loess in my own program for subsequent calculations. In other words, I want to reproduce the smoothed curve generated by loess without using interp function. Here is an example, suppose vx=[0, 10, 15, 20], and vy=[0, 227.04, 362.78, 517.35], loess(vx, vy, 2) will then give, loess(vx, vy, 2)=[1, 52, 0.067, 226.546, 363.622, 517.047, -0.067, 0.494, -0.842, 0.303, 1, 4, 2, 7, 5, 1.049e3, 849, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 10, 0, 15, 0, 0, 0, 0, -0.1, 20.1, -1.877, 19.412, 520.281, 32.372, 226.

Hello everybody. I have been trying to solve a simple RLC circuit for some voltages (V1 and V2) using Mathcad Prime 2.0, with no luck. I have tried using optiuons such as:-Solve block -Symbolic evaluation -Find function.The worksheet is attached. Any help/comment is appreciated.

I solve my results. first, I thought I proceed my work to be right. But Suddenly, I thought my work is not right when I compared 4 result values in picture.I thought a, a' increase and solve block find reasonable value.( a, a' is inital value guessed)you can know that "a.r ,a.r' " are same a2, a'2(caculated value) although a, a' (initial guess) are 0.How is it generated? For example>a(inital value) is 0.254 and a2 is 0.255 ( when torelance is 0.01 ) it is convergence. But My value is strange. when a,a' is 0, 1th~3th value is convergence.I don't know why it happen.I attached my file.

Hi,It is not the first time I want to find solutions to the same equations with different parameters/inputs, but it is the first time I do with more than 2 or 3 (I usually just did copy and paste). So for the first time, I am really trying to get Mathcad to solve equations with vectors on the input and output (but all scalar operations).With what I did, Mathcad doesn't show any error, but the outputs are equal to the guess values, which seem to indicate that it doesn't work.Practically, I have a circuit with a RL series with another R in parallel (R // (R - L)). I have measured it at different frequencies, measured the impedance and phase angle, and I want to identify the unknown parameters (series R L ). All parameters may vary with frequency (in fact, they probably do !).Thanks

Hallo, kann man mit MathCAD Prime 3 Express die Seitenlayouts gestalten ?Ich finde lediglich die Möglichkeiten mit großen bzw. kleinen Kopf- und Fußzeilen. Ich möchte aber diese teilweise ausschalten können, weil die Seiten über PDF in andere Dokumente importiert werden sollen.Deshalb möchte ich auch gern die Fußzeile mit dem Wasserzeichen von MathCAD Prime Express ausschalten können.Geht das oder muß man dafür die Premium-Version kaufen ?Grüße, Gerd-Wilhelm

I used "if" to my work because I need to constraint.i.x) I have some data(CL, CD) each section "r=2.8667, 5.6....61.6333"These data are 8.(CL1,CD1.....CL8,CD8) when r are 2.8667,5.6 , CL1,CD1 is used.when r is 61.6333, CL8,CD8 is used.I used "if" to constraint so that data used each section.But It made my work slowly. So I want to change or improve so that it is fast.I attaced my files. Please help me. it spend long time....And I also want to review my work whether it is efficient about my work.

Hey there,I'm dealing with a problem concerning mass transfer at a porous solid sphere, suspended in a limited volume of water. I'm struggling to get the problem solved in MathCad. Perhaps has anyone an idea.The problem is as follows. A solid sphere is suspended in an agitated tank. Mass Transfer is unsteady and described with Fick's 2nd law within the sphere. The flux at the surface is transfered to the bulk liquid by convection. Diffusive and convective flux is coupled at the phase boundary.I tried to solve it by defining the mass balances in a solve block with pdesolve. Unfortunately there is an error concerning a mismatch of the initial conditions, which I cannot follow up. Actuallly I'm not sure if pdesolve is able to handle the problem. Hi All:I have been an avid MathCad user since I was introduce at work in 1988 (Hughes Aircraft Company) to MathCad version 3.0 on an Apple Macotosh.Since then, I have used various newer MathCad versions at work, which were just fine, once I got use to the new features ("bugs!").Although Hughes is now Raytheon Company, I continued using MathCad as my prime tool, while the company force me to use Matlab, which I am proficient but hate it.I retired from the aerospace industry in 2010; and was given an old copy of MathCad (CD Version 7) to use at home for hobby purposes.I was quite surprise to find an ad, where I could download a free MathCad from PTC (What happen to MathSoft?).I am practicing now with Prime 3.0; and, of course, it is a new learning curve to get use to the "features" (bugs!).A problem with Prime 3.0 is that it definitely requires I upgrade my computer system. I will send the present setup using PTC Quality Agent.My question: Is there a version for hobbyist (or retirees lik
