When using Submatrix, is there a shortcut to specify the end of the column or end of the row?
files created with MCAD 14 or MCAD 15 can be opened in MCAD 14, saved and re-opened in MCAD 15?
Trying to plot a spring constant after measuring deformation due to applied weight Why is this scatterplot not working? Both M and S8mm have 10 values
The collapsed area contains the function NumberGenerator() that produces a new number for every supplied (integer) number. Three results are shown. Your task is to come up with a/the definition of the function such that it computes the (correct) value associated with 433 (and any other number in Z). As you will find out, I've limited the function to just the three first input numbers with: Where the red placeholder should contain the code to implement the actual functionality. To not spoil the fun for others, I'll accept solutions in Prime or Mathcad as either one of: - the function NumberGenerator(), limited to the same input range, in a collapsed locked area, dated later than the timestamp above. The password should be the result of NumberGenerator(pw), and pw is supplied along. - submitted to me in a PM (in case you're limited to express). Success!Luc
Hi,I tried to calculate minimal value of the complex argument of a Transfer function through minimize function inside a resolution bloc. Mathcad indicates that there are no solution found, try to modified initial values or TOL or CTOL, but it does not help. I think that Mathcad does not find solution because the argument does not change, but manual calculation gives different values according constraints.Could you please help me to understand why the Mathcad do not understand the constraints? Thanks Christophe PS : Using Pime 4.0
Hello everyone!I reworked a worksheet presented by a member of the community I think in 2018 related to the solution of a system of algebraic differential equations with a periodic sawtooth excitation function. I find quite different results depending on how the excitation function is defined. I wonder who's wrong. I enclose the version presented by the member (.mcdx) and my own (dae + 13032023.xmcd).I await your opinion.
I'm curious if anyone has come up with a solution that is similar to using Find() w/in a Solve Block OUTSIDE of a solve block? I ask because I'd like to have the Find() ability to iterate/solve but use it as a custom function that I can call for N instances. There is a lot of value in Solve Block Find() but I have a case where I have a lot of inputs in V for which I would like to Find() solutions. I don't see this working just using a Solve Block.
I am looking for the most efficient/quickest way to find the row containing two values in different columns of M. The function I am envisioning would be an alteration of 'lookup': lookup2(z1, z2, A, B).I have tried a few different solutions but was hoping for quicker performance. Using the masking method provided my @Werner_E and the efficiency of vectorizing demonstrated by @PEAH , I came up with a decent solution but was only able to cut the processing cost by ~30% when compared to Werner's FilterMlt function he helped me with not too long ago (solid function @Werner_E !). I am planning to use this lookup2 function a couple zillions times in processing data so I was hoping to cut processing time by much more!I also compared the time to run the built-in lookup function as a baseline which averaged ~0.15s @ N=10^5. I figure, looking up two values shouldn't be much more than one, max 2x 0.15 = 0.3s, but I am not able to achieve that.MCP wor
Supposedly my IT department has installed the Roark's E-book but it doesn't show up in Mathcad. Why?
Hello everyone! Not everyone knows that....for copy-pasting of formulas, text, images, on machines with low RAM, and with worksheet size 50MB and above, it takes quite a long time just for copying. A simple method is this: Click on the MATHCAD 15 Window pull-down menu, and then click on "tile Vertical" the worksheet and the "untitled" one will be tiled. Then select the object in the originary worksheet and drag it to the other "untitled" worksheet. Then click on "Undo" in order to restore the moved object to its original position. The operation is immediate as well as the opposite action that is to past the object copied into another position of the originary file.I haven't tried it yet with M. PRIME. Greetings!
Hello everyone. Can someone help me to transform these files from xmcd format to mcdx format (for mathcad 5 prime?
Hello.why (solve) operation give me another result for the same equation with a simplified way for (MAD).thanks
I am trying to display the results of a calculation using MathCAD PRIME 8's symbolics feature "explicit, ALL" The results are shown accurate to with 14 decimal places - which is way too precis for my purposes. I have been unable to fina a way to contol the precision of this display - Math Formatting appears to apply only to the final result. I attach two screenshots, one showing what I currently get from MathCAD and the other showing what I want. Does anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks in advance! Andrew
I have 2 ode's that I solve using odesolve. However, I can integrate one of them analytically. When I do this, I get the error message "Too many initial conditions" even though I only have one for the remaining ode. Or can I not include the integrated function in the solve block?
What is more correct - Mathcad or Maple (SMath) Mathcad Maple
Hi! I am experiencing an error that states: This variable is undefined, even though it is.What is the problem here?I am running Prime 8. /Frederik
Hello everyone. I wanted to use the refprop database in Mathcad. I used the file of Nagimov: Link below:https://github.com/nagimov/refprop2mathcad I also have the REFPROP installed in MS Excell and it works. I have windows11 and Office 2019. But the problem when trying to get some result in Mathcad. It says: The range value specified is invalid: I tried different values, but it doesn't want to calculate. Any advice would be helpful RegardsJacob
Hello.I had an issue using the function (if) as shown below picture, can you help me to solve it?thank.
Hey why do I get an error when I want to define values?I'm just learning the program 😞Any help appreciated!
Hello...What I can use between both of these conditions inside the ( if function) as shown in the below picture and the attached file?or how I can use 2 conditions at the same time (by or & and command ) as per the excel sheet.thanks
We have Mathcad 15 files that we are trying to convert to Prime but there are locked features within Mathcad15 that won't allow us to convert. (We can't open the files in Mathcad15 to unlock them first, thus we have no way of converting these files). Please Advise.
Is there a keyboard shortcut for degree celcius unit? Instead of go to unit and select the unit itself? Thank you!
Hi All. My students and I have been getting some entertaining results with the solver arrow for the example problem below. With the "new" and "legacy" symbolic solver the results are somewhat "brittle" almost on par with the picture you get when playing with the ariels of an old-style TV set. The correct answer should be about 0.0265. For example a common result popping up for the NEW solver is this one (but the letters after the % can differ). Note also that you can get the "Red Box of Shame™️" with some versions (the type of error in this case is highlighted. When using the legacy solver it can be more likely to behave and give the correct answer. It also sometimes will give the correct answer but add a very negligible imaginary component. Ideas her are welcome and PTC probably should give a prize for the most bizarre answer anyone can muster with this problem. Cheers and Thanks Bill Capehart SD Mines
Mathcad 15 does not make assumptions in very simple problem for find function and keyword solve to provide only positive results .
Trying out MP 9 by solving a diff equation symbolical and got this ambiguous result- but it evaluate correctly:Owe
