Hello all,I am working in IsoDraw version 7.2, and I need to show a simplified outline (the customer calls it a “phantom”) of the assembly to help with locating the components of the assembly that are called out. Also, the simplified assembly needs a different color fill than the components(s) being called out. I have imported IGES output from SolidWorks. There is great amount of detail that needs to be cleared out (numerous holes, vents, etc.) to simplify the assembly.I have experimented with settings for converting to 2D to try to reduce some of this detail. Hiding, deleting, or using no pen for components to clear out the detail seems a little tedious. I have a lot of experience doing this in 2D drawing programs such as Illustrator and CorelDraw--I would probably just trace the contours, apply the fills to the shapes, then layer shapes with lines accordingly. But IsoDraw is a different animal, and while it may be able to do this, I think the process will be quite different.Does IsoD
Hi, can you enable area measurements when in drawing mode. these area measurements are already available in 3D. you just need a little tweaking of the program. right now the function is grey-out. as in picture below. *I have posted this topic in the Manufacturing area, but did not have any replies in over a year. I hope this Visualization area will be better suited for this question*Hello,I would need advice regarding a requirement that I have for CAD drawings using Pro/E WF4 and Productview 9.1.It is regarding what we call "Multi-Language drawings". For our manufacturing plants, we need to create manufacturing drawings on which we can switch between different languages for the annotations within these drawings themselves (in ONE sheet only); and most importantly, that we can switch between the different languages in ProductView to get the drawing as needed for anyone out on the floor. On the Pro/E environment, we have been doing this using different "layers" which contain the different languages. However, this doesn't work in ProductView 9.1, which doesn't support the switching between layers that have been created in Pro/E. Also, if we used sheets with the same file name, that could create problem
I would like a ? button like there are in certain windows applications that you can click which will open a help link that pertains to the button you want to try to use. An example would this. I see the 3d box select icon. I want to see if there are any options related to the box selection becuase I want to see if it will choose subassemblies instead of only piece parts. So I go the the help section and type in "3d box select" and I can't find any information on it whatsoever. Repeat this with any tool in the system. If you could click a "what's this?" button and then click what you wanted to learn about, and have it link to a help document that explained 1. an overview of what it should do 2. a step through of the steps that you need to do to use it. 3. a pictoral example that shows EVERY step, 4. any options that relate to this function (whether that be config.pro or otherwise). It would also be nice to link to any tutorials that might be available on the subject. I thin
I would like to sketch a Dashed line, and after that...Thicken the sketch and extrude. This is only possible by using the crappy Thicken featuren in Sketch mode.OR 1 linepiece at a time and Thicken the extrude. Multiple Lines in extrude modus are not accepted.
I want to be able to see what the dimension that I am going to place is, before I click and commit to it. One example would be the angle between two lines. You can get the acute, or obtuse angle depending on where you place the dimension. Unfortunately you may not know for sure whiuch dimension that it's going to be until after you place it. Then if it's wrong, you have to delete it and start over. Depending on the size of the area that you need to click on to get the desired dimension (like with a very narrow angle), this can turn into a "find the correct pixel to click" exercise that can get quite frustrating. It would also make many of the menu's where you have to click "horizontal" "vertical" or "slanted" obolete because you could just move until it creates the correct dimension.
Hi! I'm new using Creo Schematics and I'm having a few problems in my self-training (We've never used this software before at our company). Now I'm able to create ports, fibers, blocks, variable groups and fixed groups. My problem now it's that I don't know how to reference a coil with a NO/NC contact and with a group of contacts. I also would like to now how to put a contact and a coil in different sheets and have them well indexed. I found an example but I couldn't figure out how it was created: Thank you very much. Best regards. David
Is this available? I see that there is a download for the express but I am looking to see if the MCAD version is available.
Hello, We intend to create 3d E-learning modules for our internal employees. The modules would have information about products, usage with interactivity. [Like Assembly & Disassembly of components, Component identifications, simulate diagnosis of problem and solution in virtual environment, event driven, designing a user friendly user interface etc] For reference, we would like to compare Creo tools with 3DVia Studio/Composer, Quest3D & Vizard. Do Creo tools have similar/better capability? If not illustrate then please suggest which tool would work for us. Thanks for your time - Dhananjay
Hi all.I have an assembly in Creo parametric containing a pin-connection between two parts. The one part is able to rotate around the other, with the pin-connection as pivot point. Is it somehow possible to maintain this connection when importing the assembly to Creo Illustrate, and use it when repositioning parts here? Best regardsEsben Oxholm

I put this how-to doc together so other in my company could have quick access to the information i collected to create wire harnesses without using Creo Schematics.I learned a lot from Brian Martin's posts and docs that he has shared online. I also found other resources very helpful as well.My process is a bit different from others so I thought I would share it here.
Yes, even this has to be brought up. As basic at it gets - when you manipulate your curves in both sketcher and style, going into CV mode somehow disables the undo, so any time you move your CVs, good luck if you made a wrong or accidental move. Again, this is as basic as they come - a simple undo for every move, CV or edit point, or whatever - would make functional again.
When i open an .igs model in Isodraw cadprocess 7.0 (at client location), all the parts of an assembly are visible. But, when i open the same .igs model in Isodraw 6.1 or 7.3 cadprocess , there is some dataloss i.e., some parts are not visible or missing. Can anyone explain me what might be the problem or do i need to reinstall the softwares or are there are any plug-ins missing.Q-2: And also when i open the .wrl files, i am not able to zoom properly and there is a huge dataloss when i onvert to 2d .iso file. Thanks in advance.
I have two questions about measurements:LabelWhen creating a measurement, Illustrate displays a label in the drawing like: "Min Dist 20 mm" Is it possible to change this label? Because we produce manuals for several languages we don't want to have text in a picture. So only "20 mm" would suit us better or even only a letter (for example "A", where A is explained in the manual text).InsetsIs it possible to display the measurement annotation in an Inset? Regards, Raymund
An c3di file has got an creo parametric assembly as source. I did a save as action with the creo parametric assembly. Some of the components in the structure were changing. Now, I want to keep all the created figures in Illustrate of the original assembly for the new assembly. I do not want to create all the figures in Creo Illustrate once again. Is that possible?
How do you delete or remove the files that are loaded into the Creo View Mobile App?Once loaded from iTunes or from e-mail.
Surface modelling was the main area which set Creo apart from the ususal suspects but they have now pretty much caught up (though the Style feature still keeps Creo ahead for ID jobs) Workflow for editing sketched splines is looking pretty clunky, needs a general overhaul and primarily bringing into the main sketching environment rather having to enter its own interface.
I have not come across this before, what does the red x in the model tree indicate? I cannot check the box to the left of it either.
This is one puzzling to me in a big way, as someone who's been modeling for 17 years in Alias and now transitioning ot ProE - why in the world you have a styling module that's essentially its own sub-modeling environment, separated from the rest of the tools? This makes as much sense as working the same project on 2 different computers in 2 separated rooms. Your styling module has the obvious improvements and basically an evolution of your "normal" sketcher curves and boundary blend surfacing. So why have that separated into another module? As the result, you have curves with very specific building workflows and requirements that sometime do, sometimes do not work with sketcher curves, as in you can't even intersect a sketcher curve and a styling one. That's crazy!!! A curve is a curve!! Curves are supposed to be flexitble building structures that should have maximum flexibility and ability to be manipulated in a unified and consistent way.&nb
I would like the ability in sketcher to toggle display of strong & weak dimensions independent of each other. Use case: After importing or removing references on a complex sketch, many weak dimensions are created. While trying to constrain & dimension the geometry the weak dims clutter the display area. With current functionality, if you use the disp dims filter you can't see what you have strong dimensions on.
So it would be more user friendly.
