Playing with creo view on ipad, not talking about pc version.
Hi alls, I need to exchange some 3D models with one of my clients. So, he needs software to do so. I'm working on Creo and have to share 3D model files. The simplest solution is to use Creo view (freeware version). However, he also wants to make some simple models just for explaining ideas. So, I'm wondering what would be good software for them to buy. I thought about - SpaceClaim - Alibre (a little bit too simple, perhaps?)- Creo Direct (seems to be the most compatible with Creo, ofcourse. However I would prefer not sharing native files but just Neutral,Iges or viewing files)- Probably some other ones??? As an abstract, I could say that we are looking for cad software:- That can read Creo exported files (not native ones)- That could make simple models- That doesn't use history tree Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks,GB
I want to create a callout in Creo Illustrate that shows the Description of the object as the text in the callout.I can see the description property in the pvs file in Creo Illustrate but I cannot get it to populate the callout.I have added the following snippet to the CalloutTemplates.xml file :<annotation id="ship-description" hasLeaders="true"> <name locid="DEFItemNumber-SHIP"/> <description locid="DEFItemNumberDescription"/> <tooltip locid="DEFItemNumberTooltip"/> <thumbnail url="ship_note.png"/> <leaders> <line-style weight="1pt" color="#000000" halo="false" dashes="Solid" start="none" end="none"/> </leaders> <label canEdit="true"> <text font="Arial" size="10pt" color="#000000"> <useproperty category="PVS File Properties" name="Description"/> </text> <shape type="rectangle"/> </label></annotation>Did I reference the property value correctly.I have another (Creo Parametric based) example that
Hi, I having problem creating this feature I have attached some pictures to help illustrate what I am trying to achieve. I have started with a Chamfer tool with the following settings: 45xD Set Chain 1 – Standard selected 3 sides, I have also tried Rule based and selecting Partial loop but the model fails to generate when I exiting the sketch. Hope you can help with some pointers please as I am new to proE coming from a SW background. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello everyone Actually I am preparing a presentation of clutch asm and its working , which is to be explained in college classes later. So I want to create an animation video to add in it in order to make more understandable and illustrative. I have created the asm and here is the link. http://communities.ptc.com/docs/DOC-3014 In animation, I have 2 requirements • It must contain section view in between the working so that I need not to hide any component. • Clutch discs must be triggered to rotate and stop while CFD (clutch friction disc) touch them or separate. I have defined collision detection between some parts and it doesn't complete the 2nd requirement. Therefore any constraint or mechanism feature may be required. If any constraint requires modification for these purposes , please tell and add the updated model. There are many videos on youtube but I want to prepare by Creo parametric. Till now I have made this animation too. http://communities.ptc.com/servlet/JiveServlet/down
I need to modify the callouts (change line thickness) in our isodraw template, that I can do. How do I go about changing the illustraions that we have already done?Bryon
1. In the Item List menu in Manual mode, if I select a .PRT item (a part) and then click "Annotations" and select the circled number with a line, I get exactly what I expect. But if I select a .ASM item (an assembly)....... I get nothing at all! Is there a way to do this? If I select Automatic mode, it automatically annotates EVERYTHING in the view - in this case, hundreds of items - in which case I have to go through and "delete" many items, one by one, and renumber all of them laboriously. Not satisfactory!\2. Some of the .PRT items are used in different functional assemblies. If I select several instances of the same .PRT, the Item List uses the same annotation number and increments the Qty number. This prevents me from renaming each of the .PRTs with their specific functional usage. Again, any way around this? Thanks in advance!Tom Burton
I've created a figure with an associated Item List. I've "Renamed" the "Item Tags" to descriptions that will be more usable to our service people. Now for some questions (in order of increasing importance!)...Is there a way to change the column heading "Item Tag" to some other heading of my choice? The "Item Tag" column seems to have a fixed number of character spaces available. Any way to change this? How do I get the Item List out of Creo Illustrate? I assume there has to be a better way than selecting all the entries and copy then paste into a Word document! How to I get the figure and its associated Item List out of Crea Illustrate? I'd like to have the figure and Item List on one page. I'd also like the figure to be in an editable format that retains coloring from Render Mode, rather than being forced into a black-and-white line drawing. (From "cgm", I can get to an ai or eps format in which lines can be changed in thickness and/or color, etc., but cgm automatically is black and white
Hi All,is there any best practice to reuse any FRA files coming from Creo Parametric for instance in Creo Illustrate?First question, is it possible??Thanks in advance for your help,Best Regards,Jérôme
I'm running Isodraw 7.3 on Windows 7. Under Preferences/Redraw, the 'use buffered drawing' radio button is not available (greyed out) so I'm unable to display cursor info (snap, element, etc) - any suggestions?
Files (templates, "new" drawings, etc) all open in a "windowed" state and have to be maximized manually. Is there a preference i can change somewhere? Also, it would be nice if all drawings opened in a "zoom extents" state....
Hi All,is it possible to show in an animation the turn of a part from phantom state to normal state?I cannot figure out how to do that...Thanks a lot in advance for your help,Kind Regards,Jérôme
We use solidedge and export to JT files inorder to bring them into isodraw 7.3. Just wondering what options I need to have checked off inorder to use the create surface borders option in Isodraw. Any options I change on the JT export do not seem to make a difference in the Isodraw folder.thanksBryon
It was wonderful to see the live demo of the Creo View for iPad app at PlanetPTC in June of this year. There was a lot of excitement and applause during that demo. However, we are almost at the end of this year and there ha been no update on the progress of this application. Meanwhile, many other companies are releasing iOS apps for CAD creation, viewing and interrogation. AutoCAD WS, Inventor Publisher Mobile, Design Review mobile, Turbo Viewer, vueCAD, iRhino 3D, TurboViewer Pro, iXVL View... In fact, 30 apps for the iPad show up when you search "CAD Viewer." So where is PTC? I kills me to see them missing the boat again. If you need help testing, please ask the user community! If you are waiting for Apple to review the app, at least let us know. No new is not good news in this case!
I am trying to create a macro that does the same thing as the ctrl+k keystroke. I want to put this in another macro as one of the steps it completes. I have written this:Macro Preview_on#Defines variables.#Changes the PREVIEW mode to "ON" Added 18OCT12 MESSAGE "Is PREVIEW on? -> " + app.window.preview IF (app.window.preview <> 1) THEN app.window.preview = 1 MESSAGE "Now PREVIEW is on" END IF End MacroBut this will not change the view of the object. I would think this is something simple that I am just overlooking. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.Keith Howard
Provide an uninstaller where I can uninstall multiple or all Creo apps from one release. Currently you have to uninstall each app separately in the Windows Control Panel. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Currently you have to select the languages you want to install for each Creo app separately. This is annoying because I want to have the same languages for each app anyway. If a special language does not exist for an app then just skip it but don't let me select the same languages 5 times over. This not following the Creo paradigm of having less mouse clicks This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hello,Is it possible in Creo illustrate 2.0 M010 to contrlo the step of unscreew effect? Christophe
PROBLEM: RSD does not support using single wire throug multiple ports (i.e. parlallel connection). USE CASE: This type of connection is typical when dealing with systems with large currents. Typical example is having a single uncoated wire with say 10 mm diameter, which is connected through several capasitors/batteries/etc ports. For each port the connection is made with screw-clamp joint, so conductor will not be cut at port. Second example is a bus bar - which is made say 10x50 cross section copper bar. Then all devices are bolted to busbar without cutting the conductor. (see case image below) SUGGESTED SOLUTION IDEA - PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT REQUEST: New countinius conductor fibretype for RSD with caebability to have multiple ports as refrence By adding a "waypoint" feature with "flexible wire"- object to RSD one could keep current point-to-point connection definition. Additional control of routing of fibre location on shemantics enhance readability Use of "waypoint"
Creo Illustrate 2 has a new feature to assembly components/assemblies.I have a use case where I want to assembly a sub-assembly into an exsisting one.The assemble function works great. But I don't know how to fix the orientation of the components after the assembly. This causes problems for instance when I create exploded lines after I create an exploded view of the newly oriented components. The explode lines go back to the original orientation the components from before the 'assemble tool' operation. After the assemble has completed I want that to become the default orientation of the components. Please see the image below for an illustration. Thanks, Theo
The default font is 3D Font in sketcher text. Can we have the ability to set the default font?
The m020 version of the install guide shows the command line for installing CreoView Express on the clients as being like this:start /w CreoView_Express_32_64.exe /vADDLOCAL="ALL"/qnor this:start /w CreoView_Express_32_64.exe /vADDLOCAL="ALL"/qn APPLICATIONFOLDER="C:\ptc\CreoViewExpress"I did a search of the install folders in the load point and I don't find CreoView_Express_32_64.exe.I do however find this file:<loadpoint>Creo 2.0\Common Files\M020\install\addon\pvx32_64\CreoSetup.exeAnyone done the install of the client side applications yet? Also based on the command they give, I assume I need to cd to the directory containing that file first? Or can I fully qualify the path to it in the command.David HaighPhone: 925-424-3931Fax: 925-423-7496Lawrence Livermore National Lab7000 East Ave, L-362Livermore, CA 94550
Why does the IsoDraw wmf/emf generator double the image size ? When embedded in Word (or any MS app) the image is no longer the correct size and neither are any fonts in the image, which requires the operator to re-size after embedding - an inaccurate solution. It's great that we can produce higher quality lines, but output size is also a serious issue.
Hi,i would like to build a utility to create a several, unique, annotation on a specific pvs file(s).does any of you have a familarity with this kind of functionality?Rami
We have recently moved to Creo 2 so I have updated our Creo View publishing. I have publishing working just fine on Creo Parametric. The problem is the office docs. I have one VM to pub both Creo and office. It is a 32-bit system. It has the correct Acrobat. I can also command line publish files fine. When I look at the publish job summary it just hangs at publishing document. I have turned on verbose and looked at the log files and have found no error messages.
