Is it better to scale in the 3D enviroment or the 2D enviroment?Bryon
We are importing JT files from Solid Edge and are having issues with extra lines showing up. When I import the JT file I can see all sorts of lines on the part. I looked at the jt file in a different program and when looking at hte wire frame version it seems to coincide with the lines that are showing up. If I export the same part to iges and step they look ok. I am expecting there is something happening with the importation of JT into isodraw.
Is it possible in IsoDraw to create a "GhostBuster" symbol that would require deleting portions of a color filled circle? Essentially create a circle, fill with color, delete portion of circle to create the slash symbol commonly seen when illustrating "DO NOT DO...." I want to be able to place this "symbol" over other items with them showing through the cutout portions. Thanks is advance.
Good morning. I am struggling to determine whether Creo Illustrate is included as part of Creo Enterprise SE, or whether it is an extra-cost goodie. I would be grateful for some guidance. In addition, I am interested to know whether anyone is using the software to produce 'Lego-style' assembly manuals, with just rendered pictures of 3D models and no text. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, John
Is it possible to change the order of sBOM items?I've created about 75 sBOM entries, but I'd like to change the order. For example, the item which is currently in 35th place I'd rather have in 20th place (all others in their current sequence).I know that I can select the 35th item, cut it, go to the top assembly and click place. That puts it at the very end. I would then have to go through that process with all the items that should be below that item, but that is incredibly painful.Similarly, if I've made one item a child of another, is there a way to "simply" move it to the left so it's on the same level? There's got to be a better way! Thanks in advance,Tom Burton
I like to have the following enhancement for the Creo UI Editor and it's resourcefiles. Ability to use variables in resource files to improve consistency. One example: Instead of specifying (.FontSize 12) for every resource in every layout I would like to define a variable MyFontSize and use it in the resource definition (.FontSize MyFontSize). Hello, We are preparing 2D production drawings using Creo 2.0 as shop floor manufacturing information. Workshop drawings are supplemented by long and boring texts called standard workshop manufacturing instructions. I believe it's a pretty classic way of production documentation in manufacturing industry. As I understand, Creo Illustrate is an attempt to change all that by helping designers prepare production instructions in 3D or a lively 2D format. I am not sure if outlput of illustrate is a paper printable document or an electronic screen video with interactive possibilities? My questions are: 1) How illustrate data can be organised? The files remain in Creo 3D model's local folder or in Windchill? In case of modification in Creo part data, is it possible to set up an windchill work-flow to update illustrate instructions? 2) Can we create printable pages like creo drawings in standard company A4 format with part list on each page. The
HelloSome days ago I started working with Creo Illustrate 2.0 M040 and from first moment after installation my Annotations button is unactivated.Does anybody know what might be the reason?
I've got a Creo Illustrate 2.0 drawing. When I look in the S BOM, I see a subassembly shown as "abc.asm, -.3". When I go into the Tools menu and select Edit Structure, in the E BOM, I see "abc.asm, -.7". I see that many of the items in the E BOM up to and including the top level asm have higher "dash numbers" than in the S BOM. How do I get the higher dash-number items from the S BOM to the E BOM? I've already done a lot of work on the drawing, so obviously I don't want to start over! When I look in the lower panel and select Source, I see five pvz files. For all of them, the "Update policy" indicates "Update after confirmation", and "Status" indicates "Up to date". Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I should be doing. I thought Updates were automatic (asking if I want to incorporate them).
Hello, I have a file where they put together and there is no parent structure to organize parts. See below: I want to organize these parts into three groups so it is easier to select and animate. I read about creating a parent structure or combining parts, but since there isn't much of a parent structure to begin with, I don't know if it will work. Everything I have tried doesn't change anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? Sincerely,Dustine
Hello, I am trying to create an animation. When I select one part I can move it on the right axis. When more than one part is selected to move as a group, the axis changes. Can you change the spin center to set the axis where you want it to be? Is there another way to the axis so that I can rotate multiple parts around one part? For example, if I am showing a fan spinning around the drive holding it on, then I show the back and want the fan and the bolts to spin together properly, so they have the same center axis around the drive holding it on. It keeps wobbling on me to go through the part than around it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dustine
We need the default setting to Aspect ratio of Sketch Text. It might be controlled by configuration setting "text_width_factor". Or create a new configuration setting. Best regards,
I have a part of the model that I am zooming in on and want to callout out different parts. Is there a way to mask part of the model to center it in the size of the page and do callouts around the model? I tried to use a border, but it only goes to 10 pt. That is not enough to make a difference. Any suggestions?
I've been using 3rd party software to generate pneumatic/hydraulic schematics; typically pretty simple and straight forward. Nothing fancy. It has been working okay for a while, but I stumbled upon reference to "PTC Creo Schematics Lite". Keeping my schematics together with my cad would be awesome, but I don't do enough to justify buying a full blown addon. At the end of the 5 page data sheet PDF for PTC Creo Schematics it claims there's a free "Lite" download. Yet after lots of searching I haven't found it anywhere. Does anyone know if this still exists in "Lite" verstion? If so, any ideas where I can find the download link? Thanks!
According to PTCs document comparing the different versions of Creo View, in Creo View Express you should be able to "Display Combination or View States from Creo Parametric" but I cannot figure out how to view them once in Creo View. Any suggestions on how you would do this would be appreciated. Thanks
I'm trying to create a set of Service Kits in the sBOM. The problem is that some of the parts (and assemblies) listed in the eBOM are used in more than 1 Service Kit.Is there a way to deal with this? Thanks in advance, Tom Burton
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has tried to put a front of a part and back of a part in the same illustration and was able to add callouts on it. I would think you would be able to duplicate the part and have it beside it the opposite way. Can you do this in Creo Illustrate 3.0? If so, what is the best way to go about this?Thank you!
Hello CommunityI have configured two watermarks, one with a "in Work" text --> assigned when lifecycle state "in work" is set.If the state is "released" the screen should be empty.Now, I do have a admin file with this content: <category name="Watermarks"> <preference name="show_when_viewing" value="True" locked="True"/> <preference name="show_when_printing" value="True" locked="True"/> <preferenceList name="watermarks"> <preferenceItem> <preference name="name" value="NOT_FOR_PRODUCTION"/> <preference name="file" value="not_for_production.ini"/> </preferenceItem> <preferenceItem> <preference name="name" value="Released"/> <preference name="file" value="released.ini"/> </preferenceItem> </preferenceList> <preference name="default_watermark" value=""/> <preference name="mapped_property" value="epmdoc_lifeCycleState"/> <preferenceList name="watermark_map"> <preferenceItem> <preferenc
I have an ai file that I have placed onto an IsoDraw template. I have ungrouped it so I can select the objects. Is there a way to change the opactiy of one of the objects?Bryon
When "editing" a dimension on the screen in part mode (pick feature, RMB edit), it regenerates to give you a preview. Then if you like it, it regenerates AGAIN. WHY??????? Then, once you are done editing, you must regenerate 3 more times to get the green light? (probably because of relations and paramters). Does PTC realize how much extra time this takes to regenerate 5 times? The best way around this I have found -- and it only cuts 1 regeneration -- is to redefine the feature you want to edit instead of editing it. If it fails you still get a chance to "undo" it. You would think that PTC would have this figured out. Have I metioned that I absolutelly HATE CREO!!!!!This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. There is no method (to my knowledge) of having two cables with a shared conductor spool (i.e., CABLE_SPOOL_1, and CABLE_SPOOL_2, both use a similar conductor spool CONDUCTOR_SPOOL_1. As of right now, both cable spools CABLE_SPOOL_1 and CABLE_SPOOL_2 must have independent definition of that same conductor. Therefore, the parameters associated with that conductor must be explicity called out in the logical data, or explicitally created by hand, for each cable. Creating a method to have common conductor, as well as a method to edit/add/remove conductor spools from a cable spool within the "Spool Manager", would simplify NWF/logical data and modifications to cable design, and could be used to help identify exact required cable lengths "per spool", to be used for purchasing. One piece of proof towards the fact that this is currently missing functionality: In Pro/TOOLKIT, the object ProCableType includes definition for PRO_CABLETYPE_CONDUCTOR... however when attempting to crea
Is it possible?
Is it possible to create lines and curves in Creo Illustrate without specifying a reference. A little bit like markups in Creo View ?If so how ?Thanks,Theo
Sketcher intent manager does not horizontally or vertically constrain sketched geometry points. While it does automatically dimension them, it will not assume horizontal or vertical constraints when sketching geometry points in proximity to already placed sketched points. The work around for this is to sketch construction centerlines for the geometry points to snap to or manually add horizontal/vertical constraints. If this functionality is added it should work the same as sketching holes with intent manager. Horizontal and vertical constraints are automatically added if the sketched hole is in line with other existing sketched holes. This enhancement would be a considerable productivity increase.
Hi!Just wondering if any of you have implemented windchill mobile, creoview mobile or creosketch mobile in your company?I am trying to figure out if it is worth doing. I played with these and after first "cool" feeling came realisation that they are VERY limited. I would like to hear your opinions and experiences.Thank you,Dmitry
