Obviously I don't understand how this Community works. It is not clear in the slightest
I tried updating the following document with some additional information: Creo/ProE Drawing Repeat Region/BOM Syntax...This ... - PTC Community Although I could edit it the website wouldn't let me save it and got the following error: "Message cannot exceed 20,000 characters." Yet, when I copied and pasted the contents into Word and count the characters I get 3725 characters (including spaces) When I look at the "source code" in HTML I get 80,287 characters (including spaces) Based on this I am thinking that it is rejecting my edits due to HTML being ridiculously verbose. Is this intended? Can the limit be increased? Can you have it count text only instead of HTML code? Anything else that can be done? It is noteworthy that I only added a few lines and it was otherwise as the post existed prior to me touching it today.
PTC Community members can subscribe to email notifications for their favourite content and for things like private messages. The notifications will come from our sender address community-mailer@ptc.com This is extremely useful, but the community's email address may create occasional confusion. If you receive email notifications from community-mailer@ptc.com, this is a legitimate community email. Last edited by Catalina, April 2026
Anyone else seeing this? Their username randomly changing to some text string? PTC STILL doesn't have a fix for this.
Hello everyone! How do I change my email in PTC Community Settings? it seems impossible! Thanks for answering me.
Hello PTC Community! The month of March featured some community updates in the form of 1) New ALM Community Category and 2) Community Settings/Feature Change (Badge Notifications) 1) The New ALM Category We now have a new ALM Category with a new Codebeamer Community section and the Windchill SSE community got a refresh. Codebeamer Codebeamer is an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platform for advanced product and software development. It extends ALM with product line configuration capabilities and provides unique configurability for complex processes. https://community.ptc.com/t5/Codebeamer/ct-p/codebeamer The new Codebeamer section has a (gated by request only) User Group and an Idea Exchange. Windchill SSE Windchill SSE was moved from the PLM category and now lives under ALM. Windchill SSE has a new landing page. https://community.ptc.com/t5/Windchill-Systems-Software/ct-p/Integr
I have twice this week posted email responses to posts using Gmail from and neither response has shown up in the Creo Parametric forums. Can someone confirm reply via email is working as designed?
I have a couple questions about ideas that are archived. Does the person that created the idea get notified? Does anyone that either comments on it or vote for it get notified? I happened to be on this forum yesterday when @olivierlp was archiving quite a few ideas and it notified me in the browser. However, I did not get any emails. I just might not have voted or commented on any of the ideas that were archived but that got me thinking about my questions. I was looking back at my emails I received and see I got emails for ideas I did not vote for and did not comment on. Just wanted to know how the notifications work on archived ideas.
The email address associated with a community member's profile on the PTC Community is the same one used for your eSupport account. If you still have access to your eSupport account and have not yet created an account with your new email address, you can update your email address here.https://support.ptc.com/appserver/common/account/secure/wamMain.jsp If you DO NOT have access to your former eSupport account, you will need to create a new community (or eSupport) account with the new email address. Immediately, contact a moderator or community manager once your new account is created and we can merge your profiles, so you have all your community history on one account. Thank you! Jaime Lee
When adding a product idea, it askes you for a series of questions about your industry and such. It doesn't ask you what your product idea is, so are you supposed to hit enter and then a new screen pops up? Maybe add a last question to the list: What is your product suggestion/idea?
Have a PTC product question you need answered fast? Chances are someone has asked it before, so make sure to familiarize yourself with the community search. To search the community, you can click the search icon in the header on any community page. This will open a search bar in the header. By default, that search will be scoped to the board or category you are on, but you have the option to change the scope of your search in the dropdown on the left of the search bar. You can search the current board, the current category or the entire community. You can also search for community members or knowledge articles. (This is not to be confused with the PTC knowledge base. Searching knowledge on the community will take you to our "Tips" boards.) When you start typing your search you will immediately see some suggestions. If you see what you are looking for that's great, but if you don't, when you press enter you will be taken to a search page which has additional search options. For example,
This seems like a commonsense idea, no? Just let me into the system and I can have this running by tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it happens very often that new posts that have a "Creo Parametric related topic" are mistakenly posted in one of the "Creo Elements Direct" boards. This is really annoying.First you do the work to translate the content into your own language and then you notice it. Ok.But for many of these misplaced posts, you also don't realize that they are not meant for "Creo Elements Direct" because the info is too sparse. If you then try to help, answer with some effort and only then realize by the reactions what is happening, it is frustrating and spoils the desire and the will to work actively to offer solutions. What's about a security question."Are you sure that you are about to create a post in Creo Elements Direct?".
Hi, where can we find Windchill and Creo Administration information for new administrators so they support future upgrades and installs
Hello, Before the latest change to the Thingworx developers part of the communty you were able to reach the IoT Tips section.Maybe I am just blind, but I just can't find it.How can I navigate to this section now?I thought it might be through here:But can't find it.Or here:But no luck. Is it designed so that you have to use the search function? Thanks,Jens
The PTC Community now has a section dedicated to Kepware! Customers are able to log into the community with their Kepware eSupport or My Kepware credentials.
Last month, two new features (unsolved posts and unread discussions) were added to the community member profiles. 1. Unsolved Posts on the Profile Screen The profile screen had only the 5 latest posts with a (.>) to see the full list. . Now you can see the 5 latest posts and the 5 last unsolved posts. How might this be helpful? As you enter multiple questions about your PTC products, you may want a quick list available to you to see your "outstanding" questions. The best way to clear your list is to go reply to your threads and explain how you resolved your issue. Then, you can mark those replies as an Accepted Solution. 2. Unread Discussions Button Some community members wanted an easy way to view discussions that they haven't yet read. We added Unread Discussions button at the bottom of every category and sub-category page. Category pages are the top level community pages of typically each
We are so happy to welcome Codebeamer customers to the PTC Community! Codebeamer is a new product to PTC, but your account information is also tied to our eSupport system. (Note: If you have PTC customer credentials from other PTC support communities (i.e. Windchill SSE -Windchill Modeler, or Windchill RV&S-, Integrity, Creo, ThingWorx..etc) you may still be active in our database. Try logging in with your email and see what happens!) We now have: an online support community to ask product questions, which can be visited here: Codebeamer - PTC Community a User Group and an Idea Exchange. If you do have specific support questions that are out of scope for the User Group or the discussion board, please contact Codebeamer Support. Customers can submit their cases via eSupport | PTC. To be part of the User Group you must first register for the PTC Community. You may register as a Partner, as an Education P
Occasionally, there are some maintenance is done to the PTC Community and login is temporarily locked and only reading existing posts is possible. This is of course perfectly fine. Recently I started noticing that new posts and replies started to pop up, despite I was still being unable to login. I thought it was some kind of glitch, and today when this happened, I tried a "remedy" by clearing all the cookies etc for comunity.ptc.com and yay it worked! Login was instantly available! It seems like the "you're locked out" session is stored too long some how and doesn't check if the maintenance is actually finished? Using: Google Chrome, version 108.0.5359.125 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10I have my login details saved in the browser because you know why. 🙂
I have had this before, but today I look at the main Creo Parametric Community page & see that I have 4 unread post: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric/ct-p/creoparametric But when I check the sub-page, the posts on not in the top (4) pages. Here is a sample of the first page: Why wouldn't an unread post bubble up to the top of the list? At least until it is read.
I am attempting to provide more information by replying to this post: 500 Error and Empty ContentInfos during stage 2 up... - PTC Community Every time I create a reply, it posts successfully, and shows the additional reply when viewing the list of discussions. However, when I re-visit the thread, my reply post is gone. This happened 3 times, and I still have not been able to complete my reply.
Effective December 5, 2022, the ThingWorx Dev Portal officially was retired and all valuable, relevant content is now migrated over to the IoT Tips Knowledge section of the community. All migrated ThingWorx Developer Portal content can be found under the Developer Education label. Former ThingWorx Development Portal IoT Tips Board (new home of ThingWorx Developer portal content) You have a few options to find your favorite content. (1) Select the Developer Education Label and scroll to desired title, using the page forward and back options. (2) Click "Getting Started on the ThingWorx Learning Path" on the featured article . This opens to an index post to show all "ThingWorx Learning Path" content available. Or, (3) Use Search. See Raspberry Pi example below. You can search the entire PTC Community, the entire IoT Community Category, or this knowledge board (i.e
Example: I see when checking my just sent post that I accidentally attached a wrong file as an attachment and would like to replace it with the correct one.(This happened to me just now).I also can't find a button that offers a change option. Or am I blind?1. is it intended that the owner can not change his own post after sending? (Or is this only the case on weekends ?)2. since when has this been the case? I remember that it was possible before.3. found this post, what of it is still valid. After all, moderators have replied there !https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Community-Feedback/Editing-a-post-not-possible/m-p/4934754. if it is not possible to change afterwards, then should come before sending a clear warning that announces that.SuggestionIf the owner makes a change, it will appear forced at the end of the postEdited by 'username' date + time.So the readers can see if the post was changed after they have read it.And because the owner knows that this remark is coming, most pe
I had a notification on a post. When I clicked on it, this is what I got: Is there something up with the site?
The community and KB web pages have been loading very slowly for a few days now. Verification performed with 3 different browsers:- Firefox (with ADB disabled)- Chrome (as above)- Microsoft Edge Edge doesn't have any extension installed and, while loading pages much faster than the other two browsers, in my opinion it's still slow, with the usual wheel that keeps spinning even if the page is loaded.
