Dear Community, trying to suggest an idea how to improve Creo, I fail to "suggest an idea". When I move to the button, I get a forbidden-sign. Is that because of my status (newby / basic member)? Cheers Hauke
Hi, Everyone, Due to scheduled maintenance activity on Thursday, August 20th between Noon and 1:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time or 6PM to 7PM MEST--Middle European Savings Time), the PTC Community will experience some temporary downtime.
When getting an answer to a question that something cannot be done, can we have a "solution" be No Solution Available or some such designation (red X or a circle with a line through is instead of a green check mark) vs (1) Accepted Solution to a question that has been answered but not with a fix or work around.
Community, I went to the eSupport page yesterday, and I noticed my posts from the Community were listed. Is this a default where only I see my posts on the eSupport page?
Community, How can I hide myself from public view? Public view will show my recent posts, and I just figured out how to hid all my photos and images from the public. But the topic of my posts, date-and-time, still shows up in public. Thanks in advance.
Hello, PTC Community! I wanted to draw your attention to the brand new Customer Success section of the PTC Community! Under this Customer Success category, you will find the following community spaces: PTC eSupport Discussions (moved from Community Information Center) PTC eSupport Ideas (moved from Community Information Center) PTC University Training (moved from Education Category and formerly under title Training Discussions) PTC Subscriptions and Renewals (New!) The PTC Subscriptions and Renewals board is where community members can share experiences, tips, and tricks about your PTC renewal and subscription journeys. Your community manager would just love it if you could "up" the view count on this board and give my friend @BettinaGiemsa a little love by replying or kudoing her welcome post 🙂 She really does want to know how she can help make the renewal process better. She is watching the PTC Subscriptions and R
Seriously, there's better places for these, especially since some of these techniques I was doing way back in 2000..... That is all...
This is a test to see if the community is experiencing double posts this morning. I read it on someone else's post and on the humor post in PTCooler. https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTCooler-OffTopic/2020-05-22-Friday-Humor-Over-designed/m-p/667431#M532
On top of the Mathcad community forum list is an empty picture that takes up a screen full of space. Please remove it, it's very annoying and could scare customers away! Luc
Community, Is there a way to hide my photos from public view? Thanks in advance.
Did anyone else get this when they logged into this site?
Hi, Everyone, Over the course of the next couple of months we are going to be changing and "cleaning up" our menu. The first change comes with moving Windchill and Windchill Systems/Software Engineering (Integrity) under the new PLM Category. Same Great Community Content! 1)Discussion Forums (Collaboration space with your community peers!) 2) Tips (+Tricks on how to use your Windchill Software--From PTC Employees + Special Guests to You! Expect to see additional schedule of posts in coming weeks + months!) 3) Ideas (Product Enhancement/Feature Requests to your PTC Windchill Product Management Teams!)
Last October, the Community Team partnered with PTC/USER to take the top 20 ideas in our Creo Parametric Ideas portal and set up a separate idea section specifically to collect information for the Scottsdale PTC/USER Winter Forum. The goal was to highlight the most important customer feedback (based on the survey) with PTC Product Management. The Winter Forum is complete and feedback has been collected. These ideas in our temporary idea portal (plus votes and comments) have been merged back into the original Creo Parametric Idea portal. Thank you everyone that collaborated in this exercise, and those who came to the PTC/USER Winter Forum to participate in the debrief. The PTC Creo Product Management Team has dedicated a series of meetings to go through these ideas and provide a status. I attended one of the "introductory meetings to this CAD Idea Review Series." There was great enthusiasm from the product management group to provide responses! &nb
I've seen this twice in as many days. https://community.ptc.com/t5/Part-Modeling/Extrude-from-two-perpendicular-sketches/m-p/657597#M33884 In this post, I replied to the OP's reply to me. When I posted my reply, it was attached to someone else's reply unrelated to what OP and I were discussing. I tried to edit my reply and the editor said it was in reply to the OP which is what I intended. Indeed, my reply says at the top "in response to nsgoldberg". https://community.ptc.com/t5/Part-Modeling/CREO-6-0-LATTICE-ERROR/td-p/657801 In this post, the OP replied to my reply. Except his reply was attached to someone else's reply. I don't think he mistakenly replied to the wrong person because it says right at the top of his post "in response to arames". This is like when PTC scrambled the entire GD forum by repeatedly changing the software it ran on (3+ times now?). Many comments in older posts are now out-of-order, discussions/threads c
Hi, PTC Community, Breaking news LiveWorx 2020 will now be delivered as a free virtual event. From the LiveWorx Team: "The health and well-being of all customers, partners, employees and our broadened community members is of the utmost importance to us. In light of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have decided to reimagine LiveWorx 2020 as a complimentary virtual event. This decision was not taken lightly but is in alignment with the best practices laid out by the CDC and World Health Organization." Be sure to watch the LiveWorx Blog for updates. My Thoughts Every year, I look forward to meeting and visiting with many of you at LiveWorx at the PTC/USER booth which is the hub of customer connection during the conference. I’ll miss you in June, but I think all of you understand why this is necessary. In fact, I know you do. As suggested by PTC Community member, @Marco_Tosin, "we should treasure every mo
Is everyone else still getting their emails from this site? The last one I got was January 27.

For a couple of weeks we've been able to enjoy a beutifully working functionality on this forum:😁 Copy and direct past of pictures, or even Mathcad equations.🤗 All of a sudden it's gone.😞 What happened? Didn't we praise it enough, or was the forum software updated... Luc
Hi, Everyone, I am so excited to share with you that finally the PTC Community has the ability to copy/paste images from Microsoft Word and the Clipboard! This should increase some efficiency on creating quick posts that have images. Please take some time this week testing this out and let me know on our Community Feedback board what you think about this new functionality. Some other community functionality updates can be found on our Welcome and How To Board. Community Drag and Drop Attachments Update Drag and Drop Images, Videos, and Attachments Now just because I go to LiveWorx every year, and I want to meet some more community members in person! I want to encourage you to submit a proposal to speak at LiveWorx. Why do it: A) You get to meet your PTC Community Manager in person 🙂 B) Approved Presenters receive: a complimentary 4-Day All-Access Pass, presenter coaching and industry leader recognition from your

I wanted to add a post to the Windchill Tips board but the Start a Topic button is grayed out. How come?
Came across this today on the SolidWorks website. I hope some day PTC gets to the point where they seriously consider ALL product ideas, not just those that hit a certain threshold. Today the product ideas feel like a big black hole. For the vast majority of ideas we have no idea if a product manager has seen the idea, what they think of it, or how it fits into the roadmap. Every year, our users submit thousands of enhancement requests for our solution portfolio. We review all user requests, prioritize the ones we will work on and release enhancements with our annual major release in September as well as service packs throughout the year. (emphasis mine)
You may have already seen this in your own favorite business news sources, but, here, at PTC, we are excited to grow our community of cad users with the recent acquisition of Onshape. Onshape is a computer-aided design (CAD) software system, delivered over the Internet via a Software as a Service (SAAS) model. The why and how of this great acquisition for PTC can be found in our corporate PTC Blog, An Open letter from PTC CEO Jim Heppelmann to Product Development Industry What does this mean for our own PTC Community? We are business as usual in our PTC Community operations, but I encourage you to head on over to the Onshape Forums to learn more about this latest, great addition to PTC’s portfolio of software products. PTC will definitely begin to explore ways to collaborate with Onshape on a wide range of activities including cross promotion of community and user group meetings. Keep checking back on our Corporate News page for our la
On my mobile phone currently there is no letter sybmol to access the private messages (https://community.ptc.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage). I assume, this is a general limitation on mobile devices. Could you please change this behaviour, so that I can easily access my private messages on mobile devices too?
