Many moons ago, there was some discussion about troubleshooting performance issues, and someone had posted a command line string to fire up the Arbortext trace and set the level of debugging, but I can't find it anywhere.Anyone have that written down so I can be smart enough to write it down? Also, I've noticed I haven't seen any adepters traffic since Thursday?Thanks,-Jason
Hello allI would like to know the way in Arbortext Styler how to put elements into one page.I made 8 element contents all with "hazardstatement" in Arbortext Editor and when its published in PDF, each hazardstatement shows up on different pages. (In total, 8 pages of hazardstatements with a lot of unnecessary blank space.)All those 8 element contents in one same page to show it concisely with a stylesheet.I hope to hear your advice.Kind regards,Tomomi
I'm trying to do a macro that draws a triangle using create line and append line, and want the completed triangle to have black fill.I can't see a way to switch fill on in a macro (and trun it off again afterwards). Is this one of those functions that never made it to macros?
I recently read a post somewhere (can't remember exactly), it was regarding using Python to automate some of the things in ArborText Epic Editor ( which has a ACL (Arbortext Command Language)) just like our IsoDraw Macro language. So just thought whether is it possible to use Python to automate tasks in Isodraw alongwith our IsoDraw Macro language.I humbly request the experts to please share your thoughts.Regards,Rahul

Hello,I am trying to compare two strings, page_start.txt and page_end.txt in order to build an LEP using page ranges and want to output the single page thus avoiding "P1 to P1....."However, I am struggling getting <specval attname="page_start.txt" attloc="#FOSI" attval="#EQ#page_end.txt"> to work.Is the syntax correct here, or if it is, are there any alternative methods for comparing strings within a FOSI ?ThanksAndy
I've currently upgraded from Arbortext version 5.3 to Arbortext 6.0 M100 and I'm having some problems with porting over our custom javascript/ACL.One of these customizations is a simple function run when the document is first loaded that checks a couple attributes of the root note:var actDoc = Application.activeDocument;var docRoot = actDoc.getDocumentElement();var rootName = "" + docRoot.getTagName();Right now, docRoot is returning null which breaks the getTagName() call. Other exceptions in some of our other custom ACL also say:Wrapped com.arbortext.epic.AclException: [A12653] The "detail" command is illegal for a text file. All our custom code is running on 5.3 without hiccup. Are there any caveats/details I need to know about with custom javascript/ACL when upgrading from such an old version? I know Arbortext 5.3 used Rhino as a Javascript interpreter, did anything change there in the updaets maybe? I'm really lost here and would appreciate any input.
Hi,Arbortext 6.0 m090. Windows 7. Arbortext Editor launched via our batchfile. No othre action taken.Double-clicking XML files causes the following error to display:[A14123] Existing window is busy or has an active dialog box. Do you wantto start another Arbortext Editor session? We do not because will not have the necessary environment settings presentin the batch file. Has anyone seen this behavior? Fixed it?We get something similar attempting to launch the XML files from DocumentumWebtop. For what it's worth ...-- Paul Nagai

I would to have the word STEP show up before the generated chapter number. In styler, Under elements, I have found the element title in chapter, and under generated text it has add before element content the number 1. If I click on edit it brings me to the add before - title screen all that is in there is a yellow box. how do I add STEP to this, Why can I not modify the yellow box? Am I even in the right place to modify the chapter number?Bryon
Hello everybody!!Well, I have been implementing some functionality in my Arbortext Editorusing java, javascript and ACL, however suddenly I'm having this problemwhen Arbortext Editor closes unexpectedly and I don't have any idea whythis is happening. I'm attaching an image of my error, so please, doesanybody knows what are the possible scenarios in which this errorappears? I think that maybe this is because I've created a lot ofjava_instances inside my ACL code, however I'm not pretty sure about it,I must say that once any of this java objects fulfill it's function Idelete it using the java_delete ACL command :- Please help me! 😄As always I really appreciate your help and support. Have a wondeeerfullday!Paulette Zorrilla

Hi all,Is there any good way to show footnotes under a table which contains the several number of notes without DITA specialisation?I already tried the footnote element <fn> to show the notes right under the table.I was told to use <fn> to make it and style it with Styler for the design to show the footnotes right under the table. However, the table was a bit too long to fit in one page so it was divided in two pages. Then the head numbers of footnotes were different in each page even they were the xref of one same footnote element. (See the image)I have no idea how to fix this one. Even if the footnote is valid for this, I have no clue how to style it with Arbortext Styler. Also I am looking for the way to do this without specialising DTD.Can anyone help me with this?Thank you very much in advance.
Hi, One of my customer is facing problems while working on ISO DRAW 7.2. Apparently, these were no there in older versions. Can somebody help me repond to this : How to set the default templates (Full page and Half page) in 7.2?While taking print out list number not display ? While doing eps, we have to give path every time manually. This was not the case on older versions of ISO Draw? Dashed shadow lines some times not visible. We need to close application and relaunch everytime to see the Shadow llines. While opening dxf file, It shows multiple lines crossed, an explamle is attached. Thanks & RegardsNITESH
When publishing to PDF, I'll sometimes get an error/warning message (for example if I don't back up a keyref with an href), and the message gives me a line number (where the issue occured). Is there an easy way to search for that line from the bookmap? Currently, I'm searching for the concept id where the issue occurs manually, and it's a pain.
So the 2014 PTC World call for presentations no longer lists Arbortext (or IsoDraw) as a PTC product. So has PTC spun the entire service management side of things off to another BU? Is there any compelling reason to attend PTC World? Is there still an intent to have a separate service event? So many questions...
I have referenced a footnote in a table that is in a table, the reference and the footnote are both in the second table. When I publish the pdf, the footnote appears but the refereced one does not. I think the context should be under xref. But what should my context look likeThanks for any help
Hey guys, played around with isodraw on and off for awhile. I can't find the answer in the documentation, but it should be a relatively simple answer. How do i get images to go inside the grid box? I open pvz and other cad types, and they always bigger than and far away from the grid. All the instructions show them as already being inside. Many thanksBryon

Geetings, Adepters; We formerly used an old, VB version of a class in the Editor.exe reference called AclSingleUse to instantiate new epic instances. This class implements the IACL interface. The reason for the use of this class is that, from what we've been able to gather, it allows for the instantiation of multiple instances of the Arbortext Editor without each instance writing on the other ... or something like that. However, when referencing the same Editor.exe in C#, the AclSingleUse class does not appear. We have created our own class and implemented the IACL interface, but are not sure if this will work - it may not have the "single use" capabilities. Does anyone know anything about the use of this AclSingleUse? If so, is its functionality something we can duplicate even without the class itself?
If you use a PI in an ph element does it need to be styled? If so, can someone steer me in the right direction. I have that senario currently and it is not doing what I want it to do.Thanks,Bryon
We've been using the Print Preview function to preview PDFs; it seems a little quicker than the Compose > PDF method. However, graphics do not show up when we do this. Do you know why? It doesn't seem to matter if the graphic is local or on Windchill. We are using Arbortext 5.4 M130 version.
Fellow Forum Members,How do I get Arbortext Publisher to publish a PDF utilizing 3031A stylesheets provided by the Army? I already tried the following which I thought was going to work but did not: In my "Publisher for S1000D (Print Services)" folder I changed the foPrintServices.xsl file so that it points to the "FO-3031-A00-USARMY-MAIN_001-00_EN-US.xsl" file provided by the Army. Then in the "foPrintServicesIncludeFiles.xsl" I changed all of the XSL files to the ones provided by the Army. Logically this should work, however it does not. I would appreciate hearing from anyone out there that could provide some guidance on what I need to do to make 3031A stylesheets provided by the Army to work in Arbortext Publisher.Below is the link where I downloaded the 3031A Army stylesheets from:https://www.logsa.army.mil/pub/s1000d/FO-3031-A00-USARMY-PARA_001-00_EN-US.zipAny help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
