I am using ThingWorx Platform Release 9.2 and DatecodeSP11 We are currently using ThingWorx 9.2.11 with ThingWorx Navigate 9.2. We are using the ThingView widget to load and display 3D models within a ThingWorx Mashup. The 3D model we are loading contains the main product/model along with its packaging, where the packaging is included as a subpart/component of the same 3D model. We would like to know whether there is a supported way to hide or make the packaging component invisible in the ThingView widget, while keeping the rest of the 3D model visible.
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH A VM AND I HAD TO RECOVER IT, IN THE PROCESS I LOST THE LICENSE, I HAD A PERPETUAL LICENSE BUT I NEED TO REACTIVATE AND WHEN I TRY IT HOW TO SOLVE IT?
I configured Kepserver V7 to get data from Siemens S7-1200 using TCP/IP ethernet. I followed all the steps shown on this guide. https://support.ptc.com/help/kepware/drivers/en/#page/kepware/drivers/SIEMENSTCPIPETHERNET/HelpContents.html#However, I kept having error saying “Data block - ‘DB131’, block start = 0, block size =32, Reason = ‘Device returned protocol error’. Error class = 0x81, Error Code = 0x4.” I researched this error and I learned I needed to install TIA Portal Exporter installed to change .ap file to .tpe file. Then import the .tpe file to kepserver device. This resulted error saying “Error initializing the Openness API. Please verify all necessary components are installed”. I reinstalled TIA portal to verify openness is installed and it was installed. Please advise how I can resolve these issues.
We are currently migrating our application to ThingWorx 10.1 and are looking for the following extensions compatible with this version:SCO_Common-extension TWX_Converge_Styles_ExtensionPackage LogoutWidget-Mfg-extensionCould anyone let me know where these extensions can be downloaded for ThingWorx 10.1? If they are no longer supported, is there an alternative or updated replacement available?
I would like to target Linux for an application I created using the DOTNET SDK. I see it targets NETSTANDARD2.0 and I did some poking around to look for any windows only calls. Only see some paths that are windows like hardcoded. I also saw this link from 3 years ago which clearly states the SDK is for windows only ThingWorx Edge SDKs | Community Also maybe I missed something in the documentation that states this but I am simply wondering if I can use this assembly in an application that targets Linux. Thanks in advance
I am trying to connect to KEPServerEX 6 from an EWON device. I set up the security and got he message on the KEPServer log that the EWON was now trusted and could open a connection. When I tried to connect to browse for tags in the KEPServer, I received the error opcuaiosrv-Connect fail (BadCertificateHostNameInvalid)on the client side. After working on this for awhile, I noticed that the KEPServer certificate in the EWON repository was listed as being from the verbose computer name endpoint and I was trying to attach from the IP endpoint.Would this make a difference and if so, how do I generate a KEPServer certificate for the IP endpoint? I don’t seem to be able to attach to the computer name endpoint with the EWON device.Or does this message mean something else? The computer times are within a minute and security levels match. The EWON doesn’t seem to allow no security connections, so I have no luck turning security off.
Hi All, I have a lot off error messages in application_log like : Unable to dispatch [ uri = /Things/PersistentSession124f3131-c19f-461d-b5ac-0bf932cadad1/Services/AddDynamicRemoteSubscription/]: Unable to Invoke Service AddDynamicRemoteSubscription on PersistentSession124f3131-c19f-461d-b5ac-0bf932cadad1 : Not authorized for ServiceInvoke on ForwardEvent in PersistentSession124f3131-c19f-461d-b5ac-0bf932cadad1 And this: error executing APIRequest Message: Not authorized for ServiceInvoke on ForwardEvent in PersistentSession124f3131-c19f-461d-b5ac-0bf932cadad1, sending ERROR ResponseMessage to caller! I did find the CS386233 and tried the solution , i did change the permission on User level and UserGroup level only the error messages still come in the application_log. anyone got an idea how to fix this.We use TW version 9.3.8. Best regards,Emiel
Hi, Recently, I have been facing an issue with the timer, which is very critical for us. Error Executing Event Handler 'InvokeCodeVentHandler' for event Type.Thing:Test.Timer:Event.TimerI have gone through below Articles, but nothing helped:Article - CS403375 - In ThingWorx Platform Error message: Error Executing Event Handler 'xxx' for event Type.Thing:Entity.xxx:Event.xxx is seen often in the Application LogArticle - CS333561 - Error Executing Event Handler '<Event' for event Type.Thing:Entity:<Thing>:Event.ScheduledEvent is frequently logged in the ErrorLog of ThingWorx PlatformHas anyone had this issue? And has any Root cause been found? Thanks,
Hi everyone,I have a scenario where a very large SQL query processes data from multiple large tables and applies different joins, filters, and calculations before producing the final output. The execution time can sometimes reach 40+ seconds. One important detail is that this process is not a frequent operation. It only occurs about 3 times per month, so optimizing for high-volume traffic is not a requirement.Because of this, I'm questioning whether implementing a full asynchronous processing architecture is worth the added complexity. At the same time, simply increasing server timeouts doesn't feel like the best practice. For a low-frequency but resource-intensive operation like this, what would you recommend? What approach have you used for similar low-frequency, long-running database operations?I'd appreciate any recommendations or real-world experiences. Thanks in advance!
We recently converted a mashup to the latest version of ThingWorx 10.1.1. During this conversion, our numeric entry widgets were converted to pctstextfield widgets. The NumericInputMode was marked on each of these. How do you set the MinValue and MinValueFailureMessage? I’m not seeing these properties on the properties panel so I don’t know how to adjust these values. Our text field is displaying 1 is the minimum value message and I want to get rid of this message.
I’ve had this same issue with the “Notifications” entities as well. As stated in this topic (https://community.ptc.com/thingworx-developers-185/email-notification-doesn-t-work-90553). Using the “SendMessage” service on my MailThing will work, but if I set up a Notification to trigger from an event, no email is sent. I set up a subscription to log a message on the same event and it DOES log the message. Our ThingWorx platform is configured as a HA cluster, currently running version 10.1.1, but this issue has been across multiple versions.Performing a rolling restart of my individual server nodes seems to resolve the problem and the Notifications ARE triggered for a while, but eventually they stop working again. I’m curious to know if more people have experienced this issue.UPDATE: Performing the rolling restart (cycling nodes while platform remains up) is NOT working in today’s instance of this problem. I believe it worked in the past but seemingly not today. Maybe the problem has
PLC type: Mitsubishi Fx5UEthernet Module: USR W630 (Wi-Fi to serial)The proposal PLC connects directly to Kepware through the Ethernet port and is working fine, and I want to try to connect through the Wi-Fi.My diagram is PLC - ethernet → USR W630 ))) Wi-Fi → Kepware. The purpose of the Ethernet module is to work like an Ethernet bridge. I follow this link to set up the PLC: https://industrialmonitordirect.com/blogs/knowledgebase/mitsubishi-fx5u-kepware-slmp-connection-configuration?srsltid=AfmBOop2S78y27FdOU68Ot9BDMhwFP3ieD8WG3x2a4zojZ9K_RskSMqR.In Kepware, I tried using the Mitsubishi Ethernet method to set up it, but it always shows that the reading is failing. I tried with this tutor. The problem is when I tried through Modbus TCP/IP to reading the PLC values. It looks like no problem, and I got the value of the PLC address. Does everyone have these problems, or any suggestions for my situation? Thank you first.
hi, i am new to thingworx and I am using it for IOT app involves MQTT,i am trying to create an mqtt parser thing, the parser will recive raw data from mqtt broker and in the same thing i want to extract the data from the message and save it in properties here is my raw data json :{"deviceId" : "3102-0153-21", "Timestamp":"23/10/2024 11:18:52", "Digital Input":7}my thing can get this message no problem and save it inside the Intrusion_raw_data property, next i created a subscription to run on data change event for the Intrusion_raw_data property , here is the script:me.Timestamp = me.Intrusion_raw_data["Timestamp"];me.sn = me.Intrusion_raw_data["deviceId"];me.Digital_Input = me.Intrusion_raw_data["Digital Input"];when new data comes from the broker the Intrusion_raw_data property updates fine and get the new data and i can see it, but it looks like the subscription does not run , but when i try to change the Intrusion_raw_data manually inside the thing it self the sub
Does anyone know whether this case was solved and closed?
Hi,I have a question regarding ServerTimestamp and SourceTimestamp from this post. Based on the OPC UA specification, if the device/PLC doesn't support hardware timestamping, shouldn't SourceTimestamp be null? However, on the client side, I noticed that SourceTimestamp is always equal to ServerTimestamp. Is there any documentation explaining why this happens? Furthermore, when I issue a Read request for a tag whose value hasn't changed, SourceTimestamp is still constantly updated and identical to ServerTimestamp. Any insights or references would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, Out of nowhere, I started getting an error message when saving the Mashup during development. The error message is Save failed: Unable to update mashup: property name projectName not found. Thanks,
As per the original post. Hi, I have the similar problem as NM_12850686. Could you please share the port issue solution? Here is my setup: Cleco Controller mPro200 - Open Protocol - Port 9002 - Activated Cleco Controller mPro200 - TorqueNet- Port 12345 - Activated Cleco Controller mPro200 id : 192.168.50.20 KepServerEx - Channel:TorqueToolEthernet - Device:Cleco (Open Protocol - 192.168.50.20 - Port: 9002) Both the controller and the port can be ping successfully from the PC. However, none of the tags receives information from Cleco. Could you please look into this? Thank you,LP
I have a OPC UA server (on a siemens comfort panel) that I want to read in some tags on my Kepware Server 7.1.271.0 server. I’ve set up an OPC UA channel and device, and I’m able to perform automatic tag generation tasks (I’m able to see the tags I have configured over there). The problem is that when I then try to read Kepware’s tags from this, the tag quality is bad. Maybe about once a minute I get a message in the log that the OPC UA Client driver is reconnecting due to connection loss- which sometimes, but not always corresponds to one momentary instance when the tag quality goes good and I’m able to read in the tags. The authentication is not using any security policy or message mode. I’m a bit flummoxed because I’m able to set up an Unified Automation OPC UA client that can read from the client just fine on the same machine as the Kepware server with the same settings. I did some debugging with Wireshark and saw that OPC traffic from that client to the panel was normal, while the
I am currently testing Kepware Server 7 to connect to an OPC Server via OPC DA.The OPC Server, in production, is currently has working OPC DA Client. I have configured the DCOM configuration for the Kepware Server.Set the Launch and Access Permission default and limits with the user that is also in the OPC Server as well as Access Permission. I can browse the tags but when OPC Quick Client (OQC) is connected to the Kepware, data is Bad and not updating. Here are what I observe during the testing:Data is updating: Kepware Runtime “Use DCOM configuration” = disabled Data is not updating: Kepware Runtime “Use DCOM configuration” = enabled Data is updating: “My Computer” authentication level = None and “Use DCOM remote security” is enabled (connected directly to OPC Server) Data is not updating: “My Computer” authentication level = Default/Connect and “Use DCOM remote security” is enabled. (connected directly to OPC Server)However, I tried to set the authent
Hi all,I am trying to integrate Thingworx with a Dataverse table using API calls. I am trying to update a row, but that requires a PATCH call. The content loader functions only support GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE. Has anyone found success for making a PATCH call? I have tried overriding a PUT call as PATCH but that was not supported with the Dataverse API.TWX Version 10.0.3
Hi All,While importing whole project to new server getting below error:Already checked:Thingworx version is same:9.5.1All required/dependent extension availableApplication log Error:Unable to process import org.json.JSONException: A JSONObject text must begin with '{' at 1 [character 2 line 1] Regards,Javed Akhtar
This has become a high-priority concern for the business because it limits flexibility in volatile resource and production planning situations. This continues to be a significant challenge for Xylem specific sites, where production planning is driven by daily resource availability and custom/special order demand. Mostly the planning is been done on the basis of the information for the particular day only. However this limitation is impacting negatively in a way as it shows up in dashboard inaccuracies and is limiting Xylem site’s ability to operate effectively within DPM.Very High Impact - As we are not able to use the application for what we expected it to perform and top of it this limitation of advance scheduling is impacting negatively from site performance (OEE) perspective.
I have the same issue with the touchscreen for filtered drop down. Is it resolved. My ThingWorx version 9.5.2-b494
We have a Kafka instance that utilizes Kerberos for authentication, and I want to set up an IOT Stream to push property data to it. I am successfully using Kerberos auth for a database connection from my Thingworx server (RHEL, Thingworx v10.1.1). Do the Queue Providers support Kerberos authentication at this point? The Help Center documentation doesn’t provide much guidance on what values I should use in the Configuration of my Queue Provider. It also seems like the only authentication available is username/password-based. After some research I tried using “SASL_SSL” for Security Protocol and “GSSAPI” for SASL Mechanism, but I get this error: Save failed: Failed to connect to [MyQP]. Reason: Failed to create new KafkaAdminClientAny suggestions on getting the Queue Provider to utilize Kerberos authentication for connecting to my Kafka instance?Help Center reference: https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx/platform/r10.1/en/index.html#page/ThingWorx/Help/Composer/DataStorage/Persistenc
Nonpaged Memory increase over timeI have trouble with linearly increasing “Nonpaged memory” allocation. I inspect the memory allocation with RAMMap. Our machines server system keeps getting slower and slower, so we started investigating. The picture above shows it: “Nonpaged memory” started at 776,088 KB after rebooting the HyperV. After that, it increased up by 5 GB in total. Our setup is:HyperV with Windows Server 2019; Host is Windows Server 2022. On the HyperV: KEPServerEX 6.15 / V6.15.154.0 Omron FINS Ethernet (16 devices; CJ2 PLCs) Siemens TCP/IP Ethernet (1 device; S7-300) OPC UA Server as the connector to our SCADA system (Running on the same HyperV) In the second table, you can see that the memory allocation stops growing once I turn off Kepserver. There is one section where the memory doesnt grow even though the Omron acquisition is running. I think that in that case the time period is too short. Questions:Did you ever face a similar issue? Any ideas how to solve it? What sh
