Vuforia Studio

I wanted to animate the model within the Thingworx View but I don't currently have a license for Creo Illustrate.  I instead decided to experiment with using model item manipulation via JavaScript within Thingworx Studio.  I was able to successfully do a proof of concept with a simple electrical connector using both hand gestures and voice commands.  I have attached the videos. My organization blocks a lot of things on my system, so I want to share the different things I was going through to get ThingWorx Studio to work. We are working on Windows 10. We use app-locker to lockout several system-directories and each application which want to run out of these directories have to be unlocked by our system-admins So be sure that "ThingWorx Studio.exe" and "node.exe" are unlocked in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\<id:1><id:2>\thin..udio_<id:3>\ where the id's are random numbers. Make sure that your CAD-converter tools also are unlocked. Hello,In my project the "View Navigation Menu" is never hidden. I tried "Enabled" and "Hidden", nothing changes, it is still there. But in the quadcopter tutorial it works with "Hidden". So how can I adjust this setting in my own project? Why doesn't it work with that setting?Thanks a lot for your help.Lara

Hello,I got a real strange behavior of a sequence today. I used Display sequence step names from Creo Illustrate to show the sequence steps in a 3D label which works fine. I also use this workaround (Can't use more than one sequence animation in a single experience in ThingWorx studio.) to choose the sequence to play. In my other projects both solutions worked fine.So now the problem: I have two sequences in my model, the first one has 5 steps, the second one has 13 steps. In Creo Illustrate both sequences work fine. When I PlayAll steps of the sequences in the preview, it shows in the label as step names:for the first sequence: "(1/5)[...]", "(2/6)[...]", "(3/6)[...]", "(4/6)[...]", "(5/6)[...]" (in Creo Illustrate it shows only 5 steps overall)for the second sequence: "(1/13)[...]", "(2/14)[...]" and so on until "(13/14)[...]" (in Creo Illustrate it shows only 13 steps overall)Why does it increase the number of steps during runtime? How can I fix this?(I use Creo Illustrate version 3

when i import a  pvz model into studio, i am always confused about the coordinate system. when i change the "X Rotation" to 90 °, the model turn pic1 to pic2.  i don't know where is the the origin of the coordinate system.  but when i drag the coordinate system show within the model and rotate the model , it works well and  behave as I expected( the origin point of the coordinate system is clear ).p1p2another problem, when i binding the 'slider' value to "X Rotation" property of the model(pic3), the model will rotate not as i expected.p3so how can i change the ​model's properties (locations) to the clear coordinate system within the model.

I have noticed what seems like a bug with model colors in an animation sequence. The colors are either wrong or are ignored when not all surfaces of the original model have the same color.I'm using Studio Version 1.12 (0.1.16.1485).Hoe to reproduce:- In Creo Parametric, add a different color to one or several faces of a model in an assembly of models. In my example, I colored some faces blue while the rest of the model is red. Two other models are uncolored (gray) and all red.- Use this assembly model in Creo Illustrate to create a sequence. Then publish to pvz.- Use this pvz in ThingWorx Studio. Create 2 views: one showing the animation sequence from the embedded pvi, and one showing just the static assembly. Publish and view using the View app. The colors are fine in the static view; but in the animation view, any models that employ multiple colors will have either no color (gray) or just one color. Hi everybody,I created a HoloLens experience and included live data. When scanning the ThingMark with the HoloLens everything else is loaded correctly but the live data is not shown at all. In the preview it works fine instead. All text colours are white (not black which would be rendered transparent). Is this a bug or do I need to change settings?Thanks a lot for your answers.

error: [twx-studio:basic] Failed to authenticate experience server   I am working on thingworx studio and unable to connect to experience url. I tried to visit to Thingworx experience url like -> https://********.**.vuforia.io:8443/Thingworx/Composer/index.html and it is working fine, but its giving error in validation Thingworx studio->configuration ->info->experience service when i am copping same experience server URL like->  https://********.**.vuforia.io:8443 ​as well as unable to publish the same, can any one provide a demo or any documentation on setting for thingworx studio and experiance url. I have created an experience with a click event that makes a value change.I have tested on both iOS, which works fine, and Android which doesn't work at all.Is this a known problem or could there be something I am missing?

ThingMarks added to an Eyewear Experience should be 2 inches or larger and must be set to the exact same size as the physical ThingMark that will be scanned by ThingWorx View. Also note that the ThingMark width units is meters.

Hi,I have a problem with one experience, this experience has several 3D views and you move from one view to another using buttons in the experience (that still works)The first page load correctly, I'm able to see the UI and the 3D model, the problem is that when I move from one view to the next, the experience can not track the marker anymore even if I return to the view that worked good it can not track the marker anymore.This experience was working fine after the update.Also I notice that the experiences takes much more to publish than before and in the logs it is doing something called EMIT publishProgress and it seems that takes a lot.Do you have any idea of what could be the problem? is any specific modification you did to TWX view that could explain this behaviour?Thanks and best regardsFelix

I want to explode a model using model items and then reset it.  I am able to do this in the mobile environment and in the preview of the Hololens using the click JS.  I've added my explMdlItem(); to the JS of the hold event and my reset(); to the JS of the doubletap event but I'm not sure where to go from here.  It appears I'm only able to bind the events to the services of the model which doesn't work  Is this even supported?  Here is my JS:$scope.explMdlItm = function() {$scope.app.params.zCoordFront += 0.1;$scope.app.params.yCoordTop += 0.1;$scope.app.params.xCoordMiddle += 0.1;};$scope.reset = function() {$scope.app.params.xCoordMiddle = 0;$scope.app.params.yCoordTop = 0;$scope.app.params.zCoordFront = 0;};

I have just registered for a trial with Thingworx Studio and I'm going through the first tutorial: Quadcopter. All goes without any hitches until I scan the thingmark using Thingworx viewer for android. I get the following message: No experiences found. What am I missing? - I open the quadcopter project under tutorial - Click > at hint screen - Click "publish", wait for completion - Click > - Attempt to scan using mobile + thingworx view   (No experiences found)

Hi all,What I would like to do, is have JS write to a parameter, and then bind that parameter to trigger a service, in this case the play of a sequence.I cannot bind a service(play) to the parameter.Is there any way I could use the JS parameter to trigger a service?e.g. Onload > function > params > serviceThank you in advance!

Hi, Ive got a user account with PTC, but it is linked to the old Thingmarks and the old experience server - so, if I login to the Portal, I get the old Thingmarks and the wrong experience server. Giri set up an alternative account, but I can't login because the 2nd account is not an email address...just a name and it wants an email address. It doesn't allow me to login to the Portal Login... If I use my original email address, then I get the old ES URL and the old Thingmarks... both of which no longer work. I've just got a new PC workstation specifically for our development of the Hololens and thingworx studio - but I still can't use it. Would appreciate it, if Giri or someone else at PTC would sort out the 'access'stuff for my account so I can actually start using it. Thanks David

Hi all,Challenge:I need to send some info back to the Thingworx server from a Hololens experience.Issue:Binding an 'APPLICATION EVENT' to the service on a thing in the 'EXTERNAL DATA' (all done in the right hand pane) is limiting and although works in preview and in 2D expereiences, it is not working for me in Hololens experiences.I thought I would use a programmatic way to call the TWX service (as seen in others posts):i.e.var result = $scope.app.mdl['IIM.Workflow.REST'].svc['ConsumeAnswerToQuestion'] ;  This doesn't work in hololens - even if I've set the service to Invoke on startup - which appears to be needed before the service can be sucessfully referenced in js.Workaround:For now, I've found another way of calling a thingworx service from JS - which  appears to be robust, and can asyncronously deal with response when it arrives back :-  $http({   method: 'POST',    url: '/Thingworx/Things/IIM.Workflow.REST/Services/ConsumeAnswerToQuestion'
